Reviews mention

  • Potent bond-repair technology
  • Luxurious clean fragrance
  • Highly concentrated formulas
  • Effective brass-neutralizing pigment
  • Inconsistent results across hair
  • Potentially drying formulas
  • Heavy feel on fine hair
  • Staining purple pigment

OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: it visibly strengthens and revives bleached or damaged hair—No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo are frequent standouts—yet many users report dryness, heaviness, or even increased shedding and brittleness if overused. The brand is praised for salon-clean scent, rich lather, and fast toning, but criticized for inconsistent results across hair types and small, hard-to-dispense bottles.

  • I tried n. 3 and I don't understand the hype. I think it's overpriced for what it does. My MIL loves it and says it works wonders tho, 3 stars for that.

  • I love their products! They really helped my hair after I damaged it from dying. Olaplex is worth the money, they also last a while because a little amount goes a long way.

  • It's good for those with blond hair- I don't think it's necessary for those with brown hair even if it's highlighted.

  • Really wanted to love this but after hundreds of dollars to the brand I noticed no difference in my hair. I consulted many hairdressers on how to use it and they all said the formulation has changed and they no longer use it.

  • When I was a loose natural, I used Olaplex products to strengthen my hair. My curls were popping when I would use the number 0 and 3 products. I didn’t benefit much from the shampoo and conditioner.

  • I do not know what the craze is. Don’t get me wrong the products work. I have #3 and I’ve also tried the oil. It just doesn’t give life ch aging results. The price point is too high. There are Korean brands that provide same or better results for half the price. Did not repurchase.

  • For the love of god, look into the lawsuits against them. Also, there are cheaper alternatives (one specifically that sells on Amazon) that are way better.

  • I can't imagine using any other hair care line. I love every product and it keeps my hair looking healthy even when I have to go a while between appointments. The Blonde Enhancing shampoo really works - I always get compliments on how bright and shiny my colored hair is after using it.

  • I do love Olaplex shampoo and conditioner! I have long, fine, virgin hair and this has worked well for me!

  • My hair stylist usually adds Olaplex when they bleach and it makes a world of difference! My hair is so silky soft — you would hardly guess it’s been double bleached at all.

  • Love Olaplex for reviving my color treated hair from the brink of death. 10/10!!!

  • This shampoo and conditioner are my favorite ones yet. I didn’t like them in the beginning, but as I continued they grew on me.

  • I have used the number three and the number six and both a good products. I no longer use number three as I no longer bleach my hair but I continue to use number 6 - the blow-dry cream - for my heat styling and as an anti-frizz fix on non wash days. I think the brand for a while was a bit overhyped as a miracle product as people were unfamiliar with bond repairers but they are good quality products. I could probably find a smoothing cream for cheaper than the number 6 but I like it, it smells good, and its effective so I will continue to repurchase. I also purchase from Sephora and appreciate the 2 day shipping.

  • I use the shampoo, conditioner, oil and really like it. It nice a nice smell and leave my hair really soft and moisturize. I have colored hair so it help it stay hydrated

  • It did miracles for my hair. I have long and thick hair which gets dry. One Olaplex treatment and it was shiny and soft- quite amazing.

  • I’ve tried the hair oil befor and my only complaint is the price. I can’t see how it is justified. Whenever my hair is dry or my curls are a bit too frizzy it works wonders but I probably won’t buy it again since I cannot justify the cost for a small bottle of oil.

  • Olaplex is great for my aging, fine hair. I use it in lieu of regular conditioner, and love how they've expanded the line.

  • I have been using this line for several years and love how it makes my hair feel. I use the pre shower products, #0 and #3 once a month and I can really tell a difference. I use the shampoo and conditioner and the after products #6 and #7 regularly. I have long, grey hair which I get cut every 3-4 months. My hairdresser is always impressed with the great shape and condition of my hair. It's worth the money and the effort of using multiple products.
