  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel
  • Reliable, barista-grade frothing
  • Smooth, neutral oat flavor
  • Versatile, beverage performance
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Seed oil, rapeseed inclusion
  • Occasional digestive discomfort
  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • Good texture, but a little sour when added to coffee. I think barista blends are better for that. Overall good oat milk.

  • I found Oatly to be consistently rich and delicious. It works well in coffee, which is hard for a plant based milks to achieve in my experience.

Maybe look for another copacker, unfortunate they were part of the Lyons recalls

  • Oatly is fine — I honestly prefer cow milk or almond milk. As far as oat milks go, though, it's an industry standard. I've made many espresso drinks with it, and it steams well. Taste is fine. The branding is where they win out most, you really have to hand it to them.

Any issue I have with Oatly is an issue I have with oat milk in general — it could be healthier. With their position as a market leader, they have the ability to push the actual formula/tech of oat milk forward, and I'd love to see that.

  • I loved how creamy the milk was, and I loved the variety of flavors and densities.

  • It tastes good, but is overpriced and has a lot of ingredients you shouldn’t need in it. I prefer it to just be oats and water. That’s what oat milk should be! Not unnecessary gums and oils added to “preserve freshness” when they’re making it required refrigeration in the first place with all that junk. Go get the shelf stable stuff instead and pass on this.

Get rid of the unnecessary gums and oils in your refrigerator oat milk. Make more accessible for lower income people ($5-7 a carton is not reasonable for some people).

  • This falls about in the middle of the dairy alternatives I have tried. Thickness is better than almond milk for example.

Didn't have a strong enough flavor to use in coffee

  • My favorite milk alternative! Not as strong tasting as other alternatives. Great in coffee, baking recipes, cereal

  • The barista edition is amazing for steaming and frothing.

    Feedback

The nonbarista version separates and curdles in hot drinks.

  • Off all the oat milks I've tried, Oatly still reigns supreme. You can truly taste the difference in quality and favor profile when Oatly is used. Cute packaging and branding is a plus!

Wish the price point was slightly lower.

  • love that i can find this anywhere now! tastes great as a treat (it’s a little sweet).

  • I was so excited to try Oatly as I love their design, and oat milk tends to work better for my dishes and coffee drinks. Boy, was I disappointed. I bought a carton of their regular oat milk (not the barista edition) and tried it with my bowl of cereal. In my opinion, the milk tasted dusty and unflavored even with the sugary sweet cereal in it. I was left with a film on my tongue. I tried it the next day with a homemade iced matcha latte, and the sawdust flavor overwhelmed the flavors too. Regardless of my disappointment, I find that a lot of people enjoy this brand so I'd still recommend the brand. Just tread lightly!

  • Use in coffee everyday, use for smoothies and cereal. Have tried nearly every non-dairy milk, and Oatly is our household staple.

Why is the barista blend 2x the price of the other cartons, and why is it not sold in the full size carton?

  • The smooth thick texture is so good on my morning matchas

  • I drink Oatly every day. It is by far the best tasting milk alternative. Froths great hot or cold as well. I have tried the full fat, barista bled, normal and low fat, all have been excellent.

  • I really like the taste of oatmilk and almond milk. Oatly is a great oatmilk and has a rich taste which i love to use in coffee. It is a bit expensive, but well worth the price.

  • I like the taste of this alot! It's creamy and goes well with any drink. It's a perfect alternative to dairy creamer.

Although I like the taste, the ingredients is not as great. It has added oil in it which is why it taste so creamy but not good for your gut.

  • Their oatmilk is pretty good but it's not my favourite. I prefer Califia's oat milk or one that doesn't have any additional oils for regular consumption.

    Feedback

Their ethics I've heard are terrible which ultimately deterred me from re-purchasing them.

  • To me, the quintessential Oat milk brand. The Light blue one is the best, the extra fat one tastes entirely too oily in my opinion. If you want to try oat milk, I would start here. I have also seen this used in coffee shops more often than other brands
