Oat Haus earns enthusiastic reviews for its indulgent, allergen-friendly granola butter that tastes like cinnamon graham crackers, cookie dough, or brownie batter and shines on toast, yogurt, fruit, and even ice cream; by taste alone, the brand is good. Reviews also flag consistent drawbacks—gritty “wet sand” texture, oil separation that requires stirring, occasional flavors reading too sweet, and limited nutritional benefits versus nut butters—tempering otherwise ardent fandom.

  • I saw this at wholefoods and was intrigued. The ingredients looked good and i like the little addition of cinnamon and allspice so thought it could be a nice alternative to peanut butter on my toast. It goes so well with a cup of tea! Will be buying a full jar.

  • I'm really amazed at how great this stuff is because I went into trying it not expecting too much. This stuff is so great. It makes my toast taste like French toast without having to do all the extra work involved. The product itself naturally separates and requires mixing, but I found that leaving the jar in the fridge solidifies it and makes it ready for spreading instantly.

  • So far I’ve only tried the vanilla flavor because it seems too good to deviate from. It’s a lil crunchy, a lil creamy, sweet and salty. I love to eat spoonfuls of this granola butter on its own or drizzled overtop of a fruit and yogurt bowl or smoothie. It doesn’t require refrigeration and although the oils do separate I find it easier to mix up than natural almond/peanut butters.

  • I was able to try this product for free through a rebate website. Unfortunately it missed the mark for me. I did not like the flavor at all. The calories were too high for me to justify eating it as well.

In their own words

Hi Thingtesters! I'm Ali, founder & CEO of Oat Haus. This company was born out of my eating disorder recovery — I struggled for over a decade with orthorexia, exercise addiction and binge eating. One day, enough was enough. I decided to embark on a journey of self love and food freedom. Part of my recovery process was re-introducing foods back into my diet that I had restricted heavily for years — nut butters being one of them. Unfortunately, my gut couldn't handle all of the nuts, and none of the nut-free options on the market resonated with me, so I decided to create my own... and Granola Butter was born. To this day, I'm passionate about helping others who are struggling feel less alone — and since day one, it's been our mission at Oat Haus to help others find joy and fun in food. If you're wondering "what the heck is Granola Butter?!" you're not alone. We're the world's first oat-based spread — we have the texture of a nut butter, but the warm, comforting taste of granola. Many have said it tastes like liquid teddy grahams! We're top 8 allergen free and school safe, so we're a great option if you have dietary restrictions or have kids in a nut-free school. Thanks so much for reading this far. And welcome to the Oat Haus, baby!
