Reviews mention

  • Refined, memorable fragrances
  • Gentle, sensitive-skin formulas
  • Smooth, glide-on application
  • Accessible, diverse scent range
  • Inconsistent odor longevity
  • Occasional white residue transfer
  • Gritty, sticky deodorant texture
  • Noticeable shirt staining risk

Native earns mixed-to-positive reviews: its deodorants and body washes smell exceptional and many users say they work for everyday wear, while others report short wear time, residue, and staining. Reviews praise clean-feeling formulas, sensitive-skin options, and standout scents like Coconut & Vanilla, Eucalyptus & Mint, and Citrus & Herbal Musk, but note inconsistent odor control in heat/workouts, occasional rashes or grit, and cardboard-packaging ergonomics.

  • I love the fragrance range and how they have cardboard options now to reduce waste. These obviously don't work as well as the hard-core Secret and Old Spice deodorants, but I've been pleasantly surprised by these and have stuck with Native for over a year.

  • As a certified Very Stinky Person, I don’t get the Native hype. The fragrance options are great, but they don’t do a whole lot odor-wise. Their availability in Target is nice for those who seek aluminum-free alternatives, but I’ve yet to see a groundbreaking formula from them.

Invest in some functional ingredients. Charcoal simply isn’t cutting it and neither is baking soda.

  • These deodorants are pretty good! They smell really nice and last for hours. In hot weather, I would usually have to reapply at least once throughout the day, but I feel like that's pretty standard with deodorants that aren't antiperspirants.

  • None of these deodorants have worked for me. I have superrr sensitive skin so I can’t use dove or secret, thought this would be it but this stuff does not hold up. I end up re-applying constantly, honestly just doesn’t work. Use Megababe instead!!

    Feedback

    Terrible quality.

  • It’s good for what it is: affordable, available and smells good. But it is not for any day with activities more strenuous than walking through Target.

  • I picked up the Coconut body wash because of the minimalist aesthetic of the packaging…and that’s about all I like about it. I will say that my extremely sensitive skin hasn’t reacted to this formula, but it also strips my skin badly. I like coconut scents but this smells like coconut candle wax in a bleh way.

More hydrating formula and nicer Coconut scent

  • These are okay! Some of the scents don't mix well with natural body odor/sweat but there are some that are tolerable! I mainly choose these because I am allergic to aluminium.

  • Sadly... this is one of those natural deodorants that left my underarms with a crazy painful rash that turned into a crazy painful scab after about 2 uses. They smell really nice so I wish it worked out for me, but if you are someone who tends to have that reaction to natural deodorants, I'd say try a different one! Packaging is cute and scents are good, but oof that rash.

  • This product did not work for me at all. I loved the idea but it didn't perform.

    Feedback

It didn't last a full day. I felt unprotected.

  • The scents are good but the formula wasn't strong enough to be effective. Proctor & Gamble bought this brand in 2017.

  • Great scents. Also the longest I’ve been able to use a more natural deodorant without developing a rash in my armpits.

  • Love the packaging and smell. It's clean and has a good variety of smells.

I used it for a couple of months, but it did not prevent the underarm sweating and I was soaked by the end of the day during the summer. They should maybe provide clear instructions on how to incorporate aluminum-free deodorant into your life to help ensure users understand that your body takes a while to readjust.

  • Wanted to try a natural deodorant so picked up the mini size in mint & cucumber and I really like it! It took a few wears to get used to it. Initially stung a little bit, but with time my body adapted to the switch. Would love to try other scents!

    Feedback

More scents in the mini size!

  • Although a lot of people pick natural deodorant due to fears about health risks from aluminum antipersperant, this hasn't been shown in scientific literature to be a health risk. However, if it's a personal preference, this is THE best one to use- and I've tried a bunch. The eucalyptus and mint is one of the best smells I've ever used, and it actually seems to keep me from getting smelly throughout the day.

Oils in the deodorant can stain clothes- user beware if you put on something silky or satiny right after applying.

  • This personally didn’t work for me. I’ve found other natural deodorants that work better for my body

  • LOVE Native. Every other natural deodorant has been irritating to my very sensitive skin. Love that they have unscented options.

  • I tried Native when I was looking for natural deodorants that didn't use aluminum. If you're looking for the real natural feeling deodorant, Native is a good option. However, I was looking for something that could be applied more smoothly. Native often left residue and chunks behind. I've since switched to using Kopari as they also use coconut oil in their formula.

    Feedback

Adding some oil into the formula so that application can be more smooth.

  • I really wanted to love Native, but it just didn't do it for me. The deodorant didn't work for me. The body wash smelled nice, but wasn't anything special.

    Feedback

The products didn't seem worth it to me.

  • it works, probably not if you are a heavy sweater, but I am not. Great fragrances, subtle.

  • I wanted to love this brand, so much but alas, I do not. I tried a variety of their scents (along with other natural deodorants) and maybe it's me, but they made me stink. Still on the hunt for something better!

    Formula update probably!
