Sometimes the Nanit doesn't take video at the right moment (it usually captures and motion in the room, but sometimes it's not accurate.) 

I wish there was a way the Snoo and the Nanit could work together to provide combined data. 


I have a young baby and have certainly recommend the Nanit to other new parents.  It is a very simple baby monitor system that allows you to see and hear your baby on your phone. There are additional features I use all the time – the built in noise machine, the nightlight, the videos that I review, taken by Nanit when it senses motion in the room. The product is very easy to take apart and put back together so we travel with it.

For an expensive monitor, they should include more functionality beyond the subscription product. Now that the first year (free trial) has expired and it feels like I've lost a lot of the benefit.

They've just done a great job. The brand, the app, their support. We have the travel stand and it's been super easy to take whenever we're away.

We really like the Nanit. Out of the box to installed in the nursery was a quick and painless process, and the app is easy to use and intuitive.  We switched to Nanit for our second kiddo from one of the camera + monitor combos and it's been a major upgrade.  The camera quality is good (much better than the previous setup), we can use our phones when we're outside the house with the other kiddo to keep an ear (and sometimes an eye) on the little one, and it looks nice.  When we bought our Nanit it came with a 1 year subscription to the premium app, which was awesome.  They offer a bunch of different add-on products, but we've only used the mobile mount (which has been fantastic when we travel.

A few things to note; 
If you keep the app open, even in the background, it does drain your phone battery.  Much faster if you have the app open (duh), but it's something to be aware of.  The ONLY major drawback / issue I have with the Nanit is the inability to move the camera remotely.  Every once in awhile we'll get a sound notification and we can see that they baby is asleep.  There's a decent field of view with the camera as it is, but if I could move the camera, I'd be able to see if the noise was from the dog or our older kiddo checking in on her sister.  Not a huge issue, since again, the field of view is good enough as it, but it could be awesome. 

The downside is that after a year, it becomes almost mandatory that you pay the recurring yearly fee to access what were originally sold as core features. 

We’ve loved our Nanit - the product and experience are premium all around and the app experience continues to get better to add key features. 

As many parents do, I read so many reviews and articles researching baby monitors with our first son. Everyone talked about how great the Nanit was but once I actually had the product I found it to be lacking in meeting expectations, key information missing on the website, felt the advice of customer service directly contradicted all of the instructions on the website, and ultimately didn’t use any of the monitoring capability. 

If your child is going to start out by sleeping in a pack and play bassinet in your room you will want the floor stand for the Nanit camera bc you won’t want to screw the Nanit wall mount into your temporary crib location. (This isn’t mentioned anywhere on the website. These stands are sold separately and pretty pricey). However, the floor stand height is not adjustable. The breathing alarm kept going off in the middle of the night bc it kept saying the baby wasn’t breathing, which he was. As a new mom recovering from a c-section being startled in the middle of the night is pretty painful. We had so many false alarms with the monitoring swaddles I contacted the company. They told me to adjust the height of the pack n’ play bc the baby was too small and too far from the camera. Pack n’play heights are not adjustable and my son was an average size newborn. Why did they not make the floor stand height adjustable?! I was then told to use the traveling camera stand instead which goes against everything the website says that the camera has to be directly over the crib to properly monitor the baby’s breathing. We completely stopped using the breathing swaddles after The first month. 

The second thing I found very frustrating about the Nanit was that I felt committed to it for my second son since we use it with our first. All of a sudden they changed their access program so that you are limited in how many people can have access to view the camera feed. My children are 16 months apart so not much time had passed. With my first son you were allowed to have unlimited accounts viewing the camera feed. So both parents, grandparents, and/or a nanny could all have access on their phones when babysitting. By the time my second son was born only 2 people can have access to view a camera without paying an annual subscription fee. That is absurd and I feel extremely misleading. 



Overall I really like the ability to have my children’s baby monitors with me where ever I go, but there are definitely some things I find frustrating about the product/company’s transparency.  

A must have baby product. The camera is easy to mount. The directions are seamless. The notifications are great and the app is made to handle multiple devices if you have two children or more. They do charge you after a year for insights like how long they sleep, level of sleep and other data points. 

It's a 10/10 product I would only knock them for charging for insights after a year. 

Anytime you think you should get the cheaper shit for your kid just stop. I spent so much on lesser products and could finally just rest easy knowing I had the best thing with Nanit. The price is well worth the product and anything that helps rest your tired ass head when the kid ain't sleepin right is well worth it. 

Again, another product I’ve used since the birth of my son two years ago. Love that I’m able to connect miles away, the quality is great, never had any issue using! 

This monitor has been perfect for us. We are not paying for the subscription to get extra insights and have not used the breathing tech & extra gear. But even without those things, Nanit has been a great purchase. Always reliable, always working, and personally, I love having the monitor on my phone & iPad and not having to think about yet another thing that needs to be charged. The travel stand is also very convenient for our lifestyle.

I don't like the design of the floor stand - it takes up too much space and looks awkward. I also think that for the price Nanit should give more of the insights and data for free. It seems a little too much for me to have that as such an expensive add on.. But hey, who doesn't want a recurring revenue stream... :)
