  • I received the color Cooper through skeepers app. It was easy to use, but it didn't come with a lot of directions to make it confusing to understand. In the past I used red dyes, some stained a lot on my pillow. I noticed this dye, didn't bleed out which I love when a hair dye doesn't. The dye didn't lie on how long it lasted it did last on my hair for more than 3 months.

  • The colour is close to my natural hair colour at birth so that’s good. Unsure if it has staying power. Excited to find out! Might recommend. May have to later edit review to tell you guys. That’s So Fire is the shade I’m reviewing.

  • Pura Color Therapy, Colorless Deep Conditioning is a great quality product, my curly hair loves it; very easy to detangle with the product. Soft, shiny and healthy looking hair as result.

  • When COVID hit and I could no longer access a salon, I scoured the internet for a good hair coloring product that would not let me down. I came upon this brand and got exactly what I wanted. They give you everything you need in the package, including easy-to-read directions. The color comes out beautifully and you really feel like you've just gone to the salon with how silky your hair is after.

  • I’ve had a really good experience with Madison Reed. My color has turned out great every time, and I love being able to get salon-quality results at home. The instructions are clear, the ingredients feel thoughtful, and the results have been consistent. That said, I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews and negative discourse online, and it’s made me second-guess things more than once. I wish the brand would more openly and directly address some of the concerns people raise. It would go a long way in reinforcing trust and helping loyal customers like me feel more confident sticking with them.

  • I used Madison Reed at first because it is gluten-free. I continued using it throughout the pandemic and was grateful for it. When I needed a way to keep it from looking brassy, I made an appointment with a stylist and did a FaceTime/ Zoom style call with her. I added the color reviving gloss, and the problem was solved. The website subscription was easy to use, delay, and cancel. It’s also at Ulta for no up charge.

  • I would recommend the DIY at home instead of going to the salon. The home kit is easy to use, comes with gloves, cleaning wipe, mixing bowl and conditioner. They do tend towards the darker side, and when they wash out or fade they are quite reddish. I would recommend opting for a lighter shade. I think the products they use in the salon are much stronger than the ones shipped to the customer. At the Madison Reed salon, the product really irritated my scalp - as soon as the colorist put it on it started burning and itching, which does not ever happen when I do it myself at home. I kept it on as long as I could but after 25 mins I was in such discomfort that I asked to wash it off. Overall the color chosen (by the MR colorist) was a bit too reddish for my ash brown hair. On the whole their products do not leave you with multidimensional color as advertised, but they cause less hair loss than other box colors.

My experience at the Sherman Oaks salon was not good - you would think they would take their time for a first time customer to love the brand and choose the right shade. Instead I was given a dirty iPad to look at shades (without the benefit of seeing how it would look on me as you can do on the website). Instead felt the colorist really rushed me to make a choice rather than match my color.

  • I enjoy the range of colors and usually mix 2 together for my color. The directions were easy to use and I appreciated all of the supplies like gloves. The cost is higher than traditional box color, however, it is cheaper than going to a salon for the color range.

  • I use Madison Reed every 8 weeks or so. I just left town and needed to dye my hair and my product arrived after I left. I went to the store and bought a random root touch up. Using another product reminded me just how great Madison Reed is. There is not that awful chemical smell and I don't feel like I'm ruining my hair after each use. The color is great. I had to do a step lighter and it was an easy process to update my subscription. My hair's texture does change for the first couple of days after, but find that the conditioner it comes with really helps with that and I use a hair mask from a separate company to moisturize as well. I'm not sure I'll ever go back to the salon for dyeing my hair OR use another store bought brand.
