Misleading Website Interface Caused a Bait-and-Switch Experience!!! This was my first experience ordering from Madewell, and unfortunately, it will likely be my last due to a completely broken and misleading website design. I went to the site specifically looking for a classic matte leather card case. I found the page clearly titled "Curved Leather Card Case." I clicked on the "Glazed Walnut" color swatch right inside that matte leather menu, fully expecting to receive a standard matte leather product. Instead, I opened my package to find a highly reflective, cheap-looking patent leather card case. Upon going back to investigate how this happened, I discovered that Madewell has three separate listings on their site: the Curved Patent Leather Card Case, the Curved Leather Card Case, and the Curved Card Case. Unbelievably, all three pages route to the exact same asset selection pool on the backend. "Glazed Walnut" is the only patent option available, yet they allow it to be selected directly under the matte "Leather" heading without any clear warning that you are switching materials. If a customer is ordering from a page explicitly named "Leather," they should not be sent patent leather by default just because of an unvetted backend glitch. The lack of web integrity entirely ruined what was supposed to be a premium first purchase. I am not a happy customer! I'm still awaiting both a belt and a scarf, and hope they will salvage their reputation, but they completely earned this review on this particular accessory front.
