Lush earns polarizing reviews: aficionados praise its standout bath bombs, indulgent scrubs (Scrubee, Ocean Salt, Magic Crystals), beloved staples like Dream Cream, Celestial, and Mask of Magnaminty, plus vegan/eco-minded practices and fun in‑store testing. Detractors cite overpowering, sometimes irritating fragrances, inconsistent efficacy (notably some skincare, conditioners, and shampoo bars), product discontinuations, and occasional staining or messy residue from bombs—making the brand better for gifts and sensorial self‑care than results‑driven routines.

Lush products are the cheapest quality available. It’s all branding. I work in a lab and have some samples to our researchers working with us - the products were contaminated and disgusting. Their lip salts give girls cold sores. Beware!

I worked in the facility where these are made. It’s disgusting. It never gets cleaned. The management also really messes with their employees. Very high turnover because the factory just uses people. You have to participate in “sex parties” or kiss a lot of ass or you’re fired. Don’t support this disgusting business. Also - they do not use natural ingredients.

I use to be able to give Lush 5 stars, but sadly as time has gone on their brand has lost my trust. When I became a regular buyer of Lush products in 2016, I loved the brand. I thought their scent pairings, ingredients, product range and mission were innovative. My go to order was always a bottle of Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo, aromaco deodorant, a few bath bombs, tea tree face toner, the catastrophe fresh fave mask and one new item I’d have my on to try. I proudly advertised his much I loved my products and how happy my shopping trip every couple of months made me. As time has gone on, Lush started to discontinue a lot of good scents and products, opting to sell it over seas or get rid of it all together. The first to go was the Cynthia Sylvia stout. It was a painful day when I went into the store and it wasn’t there. After asking an employee if they were out, I was told it had been discontinued but I could probably purchase it online from over seas. I had hope that it would be that easy so au gathered up the rest of my usual items, and made my way home to look into it. After chatting with a customer service agent for a while, hope turned into sadness when I was told I couldn’t purchase it because they couldn’t “ship it overseas due to it being in a bottle.” Still doesn’t make sense. The next couple of lush trips after that lost their sparkle I’d once felt. I tried other shampoos but none could compare to Cynthia Sylvia Stout. My third thrip after that I found a solid perfume called Rentless. My curiosity sparked when I read it make a mix of patchouli and grapefruit. I snagged a sample and immediately fell in love with the unusual, earthy scent. Things were looking up, until a bit of time after. Yet again, the product was discontinued, this one for good. I was devastated. My lush trips became fewer and further in between. They went from something I looked forward to doing, into just another errand. About a week after a total restock of my products, I’d noticed my aromaco deodorant had stopped smelling like it use to on me. What use to be an earthy, spicy scent had now turned into one that made me smell 10x worse when I would sweat. I was confused and decided to keep on using it thinking it was just me. One day a friend pulled me aside and asked if I needed to borrow her deodorant because I was very smelly. I was so embarrassed, and so disappointed. I messaged customer service again and found out the formula for the Aromaco deodorant had changed. At this point I was angry and stopped going to lush all together. I stopped using the products, and stopped telling the people around me to go there. That was in 2021. In January 2023 I was looking into henna hair dye. Lush popped up and I felt unsure based on previous experiences. After thorough research from dozens who’d purchased and used it I was hopeful. I purchased the Brun henna hair dye. It didn’t work, no matter what I tried. I put it in my beauty storage area and forgot about it. Here it is now June and I was cleaning that cabinet out. I found the dye and decided to go directly to the website and give it one last shot. I stopped in my tracks when I saw it now only had 1 star. I booked it to the reviews and so many were like mine. They changed the formula and now it isn’t nearly as good as it use to be. The reviews I’d watched for this product that everyone raves about had been from 2021 and previous. Lush has completely lost my trust now. I won’t waste any more money on a brand that use to feel like an organic luxury I looked toward to.

Lush make good products! They smell good and make you feel good. Why I give a 3 then?! Because I find it expensive to buy their products on a regular basis. So, I buy them as a treat. Also, their smell can be very strong. It can irritate some people. And, I always buy them in store. I don't think you can order online if you leave far away from a Lush store. (Not 100% about the last statement). Anyway, good product and pleasant to use, but I don't use it on a regular basis due to price. One thing I enjoy is you can bring your containers back and get free item in exchange! Cool concept.

I've visited the Lush retail stores and both times have had a great experience. The products are clean, ethical and sustainable and I love that about a brand. I really have no complaints and would recommend to anyone who is looking for fresh handmade cosmetics Lush is the brand for you.

I am absolutely in love with Lush and their handmade products! Their Sleepy line, in particular, is a game-changer for anyone looking for a relaxing bedtime routine. The scents in this line are absolutely heavenly - a mix of lavender, tonka bean and ylang-ylang that creates the perfect relaxing atmosphere. I particularly enjoy the Sleepy lotion and Sleepy shower gel. The lotion is incredibly moisturizing and absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth. The shower gel has a thick, creamy lather that leaves me feeling clean and refreshed. And the magic dust is a must-have for anyone who wants to have a good night's sleep. But the best part of the Sleepy line is the scent. It's so calming and soothing, it's like a warm hug before bed. I always feel so relaxed and at ease when I use it, and it's the perfect way to end a long day. The quality of the ingredients in the products is also top-notch. They use natural, cruelty-free and sustainable ingredients which is a huge plus. I highly recommend Lush and their Sleepy line to anyone looking for a luxurious, calming bedtime routine.

Ive been using the Ultrabland cleanser for 5 years now. It really is bland compared to other products in terms of scent, its gentle to use near the eyes & it effectively removes makeup. It leaves the skin with a healthy dewy glow after using (I have dry skin) I love the advantage of returning 5 empty clean containers in exchange for a free fresh face mask, the container of which can be included with your next 5 pots for return!
