Lush earns polarizing reviews: aficionados praise its standout bath bombs, indulgent scrubs (Scrubee, Ocean Salt, Magic Crystals), beloved staples like Dream Cream, Celestial, and Mask of Magnaminty, plus vegan/eco-minded practices and fun in‑store testing. Detractors cite overpowering, sometimes irritating fragrances, inconsistent efficacy (notably some skincare, conditioners, and shampoo bars), product discontinuations, and occasional staining or messy residue from bombs—making the brand better for gifts and sensorial self‑care than results‑driven routines.

I've been using Lush for years. Love their bar soaps and hair masks especially.

Wish they would bring back the Love solid perfume
Love their products! Clean ingredients without sacrificing scent, effectiveness, or texture. Also love their mission of sustainability!
their story is phenomenal and their trade back program is worth it! customer service in store is also often great!

certain formulas could use improvement
Amazing products. Nice smell but sometimes can be a little overpowering. I also find the natural colours a bit much for my very pale skin.

The smell of the shop makes it difficult to shop in there. A little overpowering.
I liked the Kalamazoo beard wash, smells good!

it was hard to use all of it, but that's just me.

If you’ve ever been within 100m of a Lush shop, you’ll know the smell! Their products are mostly highly scented which can be polarising. I’m not a fan of the very soapy / fruity scents but love some others. Products I rate - violet shampoo Daddy-o, Marilyn conditioner for blondes. Both make hair feel, look and smell great and do what they promise in terms of lightening and hydrating. Vanilla scented solid perfume. Solid massage bars. A work friend highly rates their curly hair cream and her hair looks and smells divine. Another friend will only use their solid shampoo bars and Lush were one of the first brands I know to produce these. Everyone seems to have their favourite Lush product and I think it’s partly down to the product and partly down to the brand - the fun packaging and product names, vegan credentials and consistently friendly and knowledgable staff in their stores makes Lush a brand that’s a joy to use and gift.

The solid perfume now comes in glass jars instead of a roll-on and it’s not as easy or convenient to use.

Most of their products have very potent, wildly excessive fragrances added to them which makes my skin itch or react weirdly. I do like some of their bath bombs! Sadly they have the habits of discontinuing products and replacing them constantly with new ones..

BUYER BEWARE!! Lush is a scam..selling giftacrds that can’t be used online. My daughter received gift cards for her birthday in January, 2024 and hasn’t been able to use them online for the past 2 months. The company states they are working on the problem but yet still continue to sell the gift cards to consumers without informing the that they can’t be used!!!! This is illegal activity..basically a scam!!

Awesome bath bombs that smell incredible but are too expensive. Shampoo bar is a great idea but there's many other new products much cheaper and better quality now.

WARNING - Sales staff literally chuck items in a big paper bag with zero care, like they are cheap junk, meaning by the time you get home you will have a bag of broken up crumbling messes which are useless as gifts! zero care is given to items at all re how are sold to you, customer service is APPALLING, I spent £175 in the Oxford Street one and all you get from their customer care is YOU could have bought the even more expensive pre boxed sets (which you can not choose the contents of) or paid extra to have some material non protecting wrap to wrap them in for an extra £5 and item and so on, which would have offered the items zero protection and no apology for the appalling level of service and total lack of any care. The products smell nice enough and are nice, but for the price I feel hugely ripped off re the alleged luxury, handmade element, as neither of those claims seem to apply and instead it is all production line mass production process corp business and you'd get a much more luxury item, sold with far more care and attention from a small business and a small business would be more appreciative of your money and custom than LUSH are, that is for certain!

The Barbie dream sugar scrub that came out this summer was stunning, I mean my favourite product lush has ever launched (and I’ve tried some good things!) I’m not loving the snow fairy line as it follows that sweet and bubblegum like scent, but I would love if they could rebrand the Barbie scrub one day as a permanent line, the spongy feeling of the scrub the way it lathered was all to good to be true, I stocked up before they sold out but sadly my collection is depleted:( 10/10 was a hands down favourite!

I bought 3 bath bombs from them. I used two and trashed the 3rd one. They smelled amazing and where cute, but After using the first one my bathtub was oily and slippery. It left a ring in my tub. I thought well maybe I will try another one and see if it does it again. And it did. I almost slipped out of the tub. I trashed the 3rd one and I have not used it again. I buy local or I shop on Etsy now.

Great product experience and some that just didn’t work for me. Love the tea tree toner. It’s a staple in my cleaning and self-care daily routine. Bath bombs are creative, smell wonderful and provide an enjoyable relaxing bathing experience. Overall, quality sustainable products.

I loved the smell but the packaging is impossible to reopen and reuse. Wanted to reuse the bottle of body spray but it is impossible due to the construction of the bottle - so the bottle is unusable after you finish it. If you call yourself eco-friendly and support reusing and recycling packaging - why don’t you make it possible for simple consumer at home? Hypocrisy

The store is antisemitic , they want to boycott Israel for no reason, I think it’s unrealistic and unreasonable the company need’s to be ashamed of itself ,disgrace they gonna be poor the Israelis is the one who provide for her and now we don’t even spit to there direction , I’m disappointed and disgusted shame
