Reviews mention

  • Fast-acting hydration boost
  • Convenient travel-friendly packets
  • Wide, crowd-pleasing flavors
  • Smooth, easy dissolving powder
  • Overly sweet flavor profiles
  • Noticeable salty aftertaste
  • High sugar and sodium content
  • Occasional clumping texture

Liquid I.V. earns strong reviews for fast, noticeable hydration—especially after workouts, heat, travel, or a night out—while convenient single-serve packets and broad flavor variety (standouts include Lemon Lime, Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Watermelon, Golden Cherry) make it easy to use. Reviews also flag consistent drawbacks: many flavors taste overly sweet or salty, some feel thick or artificial, and the added sugar and sodium (with a newer sugar‑free line noted) are frequent concerns; mixing can clump and flavor hit-or-miss. Overall, the brand is effective but polarizing on taste and ingredients.

  • These are the only reason I stay hydrated. I never drink juice, but water that isn’t flavored is so hard for me to drink!

    Feedback

The flavors could be better! I wish they tasted less artificial.

  • It's overall good to have while traveling but not super helpful for regular use. Be careful which flavor you pick as I did not a few but the plain is good

  • I wanted to like this product but the taste was SOO bad. I wish I had a sample size before I spent money on it!!

    Improve the taste

  • Taste was okay, not sure if this really helps with hydration at all.

A bit on the pricey side for the few packets that it comes with in a box.

  • Honestly, I like these for adding flavors to my water, but I don't think I felt any different drinking these than if I had just drank the same volume of water.

  • I think Liquid IV has really good flavors, and they've expanded their inventory a lot. They have a very convenient package and are easy to take with you wherever you go. I think it is a bit too expensive though for what it is. You can get the same effect from other powders or tablets, just with a little less flavor.

I think the price could be lower.

  • It's great for hydration but I find it toooo sweet in flavor (a bit artificial too). Wish it could be a little less strong that way.

    Less sugary would be great!

  • My dorm is stacked with Liquid IV; if used properly, I do feel that it's helpful in staying hydrated throughout a night of drinking and does lessen a hangover.

    A little pricey!

  • I had one of these lying around and used it the day after an evening of drinking when I had a nasty hangover. I used the tangerine flavor, and I just was not a fan. I don't really feel like it helped me at all, and it was so cloyingly sweet it made my stomach hurt.

The ingredients are not great (sugar is first on the list!), and it did not help me feel more hydrated. If anything it made me feel sicker! I'd rather just drink normal water or kombucha. WAY too sweet for my taste.

  • I put off trying these forever and finally did last month - I'm a full convert. I'm terrible about drinking enough water, so Liquid IV's have been helpful for me before heading off for some weekend drinks to make sure I'm hydrated.

  • I love Liquid IV and am a fan of their powders for during or after an activity like a long bike ride. What really did it for me, however, are the Sleep drinks, which I found to totally relax me and help put me to sleep without feeling groggy the next morning. Such a huge fan!

While some feel like they only need half the serving, I don’t mind using the whole packet but will top up my water bottle halfway through drinking and find the flavor is still good.

  • The flavor is nice, though my doctor has recommended that a full packet is too many electrolytes/sodium in one sitting, so a half packet per glass is probably better.

  • Great for hydrating in the 10-15 mins I have between waking up and going on a morning run. I add water until it's the sweetness level I want—usually this is more water than they call for, but I don't really mind that. The strawberry flavor reminds me of Lip Smackers...in a good way

  • It’s flavorful and definitely kicks up water. I have tried pasión fruit, strawberry and watermelon. I enjoy each flavor but my favorite is strawberry. It’s not overly sweet and balances my water intake. I originally received a sample from Glossybox but have purchased Liquid I.V. at Whole Foods and Wegmans.

  • I've tried other electrolyte drink packets before, but Liquid IV will always be my favourite. The Lemon Lime flavour is my favourite, especially in the summer because it's so refreshing on a super hot day. It's one of the few electrolyte drinks that doesn't taste super salty so I love that!

  • I didn’t like the flavor maybe they should come up with better flavors then I would try to take to the gym

  • I love how easily the product dissolves. This flavor is great as well, a little tart but I enjoy it. Makes you feel like you’re drinking something besides water. I really do feel more hydrated after using. Only improvement is that I do like other brands’ flavors a little more by comparison.

  • I’ve used Liquid I.V. mainly for hiking and heavy workouts, and I’ll admit—it really does help with hydration. After long hikes or sweaty gym sessions, I feel noticeably more refreshed and less fatigued when I’ve had one. It’s super convenient to keep in my bag and easy to mix into water on the go. That said, I don’t love the taste, especially compared to other electrolyte powders I’ve tried. The Lemon Lime flavor was too salty for me and hard to finish. I ended up needing to mix it into more water than recommended just to make it more drinkable. The Passionfruit flavor was much better, but I still dilute it with extra water to cut down on the saltiness. While I do appreciate the hydration benefits, the strong salty taste and price point mean I only use Liquid I.V. occasionally—for long hikes, tough workouts, or really hot days. It works, but I wouldn’t reach for it daily.
