This brand has high quality notebooks and journals. I have only tried their notebooks, but from the beginning you can tell how much care goes into the making of these. I use mine as a junk journal, which means the binding is stretched out greatly, but it has kept up extremely well.

For over 10 years, I've worked in journals and sketches from many brands, but I always keep one extra large one from Leuctturm's line in black. The binding has been solid, and the overall construction is quality. The paper is also good, great for pens and ink but a little smooth for pencil work. For my purposes (sketching and large format creative exploration), it works beautifully.

It was my first time buying from the brand. Although they are known for their quality, there were some imperfections with the journal. The paper glued to the back was a bit messy (refer to photo).

Leuchtturm1917 is my forever go-to journal. I know Moleskine exists, but for some reason Iām just a forever Leuchtturm1917 girlie. The colors, the dot grid, the paper quality ā it all just works. I take it everywhere with me and it never gets worn out, which honestly matters more than anything.

Beautifully crafted notebooks - you almost feel guilty writing in them

I have had a Leuchtturm notebook within reach for years. The ones with the dotted grid pages are my favorite. They hold up well, the elastic maintains its... elasticity. There's some ghosting with pens (especially gel). I don't mind but some others might. These make great gifts and come in all sorts of good colors and sizes.

Compared to very similar brands, I prefer Leuchtturm. They seem more sturdy to me with a fun range of colors to choose from. Even daily use and carrying them around in a purse all day, they barely show any wear-off.
