Here's an obnoxiously long review of the entire process since I think it's helpful for people to understand all the steps - Instructions: They're kind of overwhelming at first since it's all on one sheet but easy enough to follow. I'd recommend making it in booklet form, so it is a bit easier to follow along. You need to log the time you performed each test, but I don't think the instructions made it really obvious that it needed to be completed on the app. The Needle Prick: I am going to be honest and say this made me v nervous and deterred me from completing the kit for a few weeks. In the end? I was being pretty dramatic, and it wasn't bad at all. For those curious, I did my non-dominate hand inside the pointer finger, but I think outside might be better; I found myself hitting it a lot wiping my hands dry, grabbing items, etc. They provided three different needle prick devices, but I only needed one; I recommend drinking a large glass of water before to get your blood circulating faster. All pain from the prick resided within 24 hours. (Attached pic is the prick that same night) Peeing in a cup: Really, it's no big deal; it's just supposed to be first thing in the morning, so it's more just remembering actually to do it. App interface: It looks cool and works well; overall, it's pretty simple. You're supposed to log what time you performed both tests, but it doesn't make it super noticeable which test time you are entering. I accidentally entered both test times at the same time and couldn't change it. Overall, I am very happy with the entire process! My partner and I completed the blood test together, which made it more of a fun experience and less nerve-wracking since we could count down the needle prick. So maybe STI-testing parties are the new thing in 2024? Edit: The time from shipping the test to receiving my results was a week which I consider pretty impressive!
SO EASY! I recommend as long as you’re not scared of pricking your finger. I sent my test in and got results 2 days later. Love the peace of mind that comes with a negative test result!

I purchased a kit months ago, seemingly before the company was ready to launch, and never got results from it. At every step across the way, the customer service was phenomenal, so I thought I'd give them a second chance through ThingDrop. The test itself was more simple than other home health tests I've used, and I had results within a week of shipping it out (which would've been earlier if not for USPS delays). Overall I like the service and look forward to seeing what they do next with the app and its integrations. Hoping they add a subscription service or something to help bring the cost down.
TL;DR: this was much more convenient than going to the doctor! Plus, the price point may come in around what a health provider would charge, anyway. I love that the kit showed up directly to my door and the instructions were easy to follow. I'm a 'researcher', so I made sure to read them through several times before starting the testing process, but they were pretty easy to follow. I have done an at-home allergy test in the past, so the finger prick wasn't as nerve-wracking as I thought it would be since I knew what to expect. Plus, in all reality, it's over so quickly you don't even register the discomfort. I appreciate that the packaging is very organized and creates a little workstation for all of the tubes and vials. Each step is easy to follow, I did the blood test in the evening and the urine test the next morning. They recommend doing the urine test first thing in the morning for a more accurate test, and I didn't love the thought of needing to do the blood test when I was still a little bleary-eyed upon waking up. The steps for preparing for the blood test were helpful to follow - including running your hands under warm water for 2 minutes and shaking them by your sides to get the blood flowing. I was able to draw all of the blood needed with one finger prick, but I'd definitely recommend drinking extra water before you do the test for ease of blood flow. Once the lab received my test, the results were posted in the app in two days. Pretty fast where I'm concerned! Plus, they send push notifications in the app every step of the way. All-in-all it was an easy process and made testing very accessible and easy to do. I feel more empowered to complete regular testing now that the hassle of making a doctor's appointment is removed from the equation. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to stay on top of their STI status.
