  • Minimalist scandinavian aesthetics
  • Versatile storage solutions
  • Sturdy glass dinnerware
  • Design-forward lighting options
  • Inconsistent furniture durability
  • Deflating sofa cushions
  • Fragile glassware reports
  • Tedious flat-pack assembly

IKEA earns broadly positive reviews as a reliable source for stylish, minimalist home basics that work—storage systems, glassware, lamps, desks, and bed frames often feel sturdy and design‑forward—while weaknesses include flat‑pack assembly hassles, variable furniture durability (notably couches and some wood/particle‑board pieces), and occasional quality inconsistencies like fragile glassware. Reviews also note standout pieces like HEMNES beds and versatile bookcases, plus clever repurposing (children’s stools as plant stands), but caution that some items “deflate,” break, or disappoint, making product selection key.

  • I think there are some real gems when it comes to Ikea but it very much depends on what you are looking for. There are companies that now to custom fronts for cupboards which can mean a remodel on your kitchen can be very cost effective and not look like a cheap out of the box Ikea kitchen. Their cupboard/storage organisation options are great.

  • I was looking for plant stands when I came across these children’s stools from ikea. I literally could not be happier with these as plant stands. They are more design-forward, spacious and minimal cost than any true “plant stand” that I could find online. Ikea is still amazing. Also the red light shown in the photo is also an ikea win from a year ago.

  • I am a really big fan of ikea. They have almost anything you could need for furnishing your home, including the tools that are required to build their furniture! They also have a great deli/food selection. My only issue is that I think a lot of their quality has definitely dropped in the past ten years.

  • I purchased stackable single beds - not yet assembled - and some cushions and storage containers. The cushions are gorgeous and look much more expensive than an IKEA brand; thick cotton and an unusual pattern. The There’s a metal storage container with a bamboo lid that’s marketed as a food container, but I’ll be using it for storing scarves, cosmetics etc. Will report back on beds once assembled. Finally, I paid for delivery: absolutely worth it as it prevented me from spending approx 76 times as much in store buying a heap of delightful objects

  • This cabinet is a minimalist essential. Clean lines and a simple design that blends into any room without competing with the decor. Sturdy construction for the price and the doors keep everything neatly hidden. Assembly is straightforward and the result looks far more expensive than it is.

  • This bookcase is a staple for good reason. Clean lines, solid construction, and incredibly versatile. Works in a bedroom, office, or living room without looking out of place. Easy to assemble and the price point is unmatched. A minimalist’s dream storage solution that holds up over time.

  • When I'm looking for a minimalist, practical, and reasonably priced piece of furniture, I tend to look to IKEA - aside from the assembly process which is usually not ideal because nothing from IKEA from assembled to any degree - I do really enjoy the pieces I've gotten from there. Do I think it's high quality furniture that will last forever? Absolutely not - this is more so "for now" furniture.

  • I’ve been using IKEA furniture and home decor for most of my apartment, and I’m really satisfied overall. Around 80% of my home is IKEA, and it’s been the perfect balance of good quality, modern design, and affordable prices. Everything fits together really well and makes decorating super easy without spending too much. For the price, the quality is solid and reliable. Overall, a great choice for simple, stylish, budget-friendly home setup.

  • My bookcase isn't listed, but she is GORGEOUS, looks and feels high quality, sturdy, heavy, holds everything and more, it's the PERFECT addition I needed for my home office. I would recommend this as a cheaper option to so many high-end bookcases like this. You can't tell it's "IKEA" but I would say everything I've ever gotten from IKEA is good quality and worth it!

  • IKEA is usually my go-to for affordable, modern home stuff. The designs are simple and easy to mix into different spaces, and for the price, the quality is honestly pretty solid. I’ve found some great basics there, especially storage pieces that don’t look cheap.

  • Bought the Utility Cart that everyone seems to have and love. It looks great but arrived with two broken wheels. I want to love them but there's always something...

  • I’ve gotten little glasses from IKEA and they hold up decently. I enjoy the weight and feel in my hand plus it’s cute on my bedside table. I’ll have to check out more items in the future for now the little bits and bobs do it for me!

  • I have loved IKEA since I was kid and perused the catalog that came in the mail every year. Most of my house is IKEA. This lamp is one of those stand-out pieces that makes IKEA a revolutionary company. They make great design accessible. This lamp gives off warm, orange ambient light and I like that it can be wall mounted or set on a surface. I have this in my bedroom and love how cozy it makes the room.

  • Good kid furniture, but wary of some of the other stuff. I totally thought that I was done with assembling my own furniture, but the kids beds and tables are great and at a really good price point, so we deal.

  • i used to get all of my kitchenware from ikea including all my plates, bowls etc but recently the bowls and glasses explode for no reason. they are just in a sink or i hold a cup in my hand. the glass/material is super fragile and low quality. basically like a plastic cup which is single use.. very sad.

  • I got these hangers for my clothing rack and they work perfectly! They're extremely sturdy, and they go perfectly with the organic vibe I have going on in my room. I wish they were a little bit thinner, but at the same time I love the bulky wooded look, so I can't really complain. They're also surprisingly light!

  • For the most part I love the products IKEA sells. They are a decent price and typically fairly good quality. Some of their products can be on the "cheep" side but others are very well made and perfect for someone looking for modern furniture. I can't argue with complaints that many of their furniture can be difficult to put together because sometimes they really are. However I like a little challenge and just go into every IKEA piece I have to construct knowing that I may be spending all day doing it and try to have some fun.

  • I must say Who Doesn't Like IKEA? IKEA has wonderful products that are sustainable and of quality for the money. I always seem to get lost in this store so if you find me, stop and say HELLO and direct me to the food section. Over the years, I have purchased many different items from IKEA, from tables and food shelves to kitchen accessories. These products are simple, not flashy and are very easy to assemble. Depending on the products that suite your style, you will not be disappointed. Since the economy hasn't been to friendly to use consumers, IKEA can be a fresh outlook to your new vision or home upgrade. IKEA has a little bit of everything to make your living space cosy yet stylish.

  • I've never owned a piece of Ikea furniture that I didn't love. Some pieces are more complicated to assemble than others, but I employ my project loving husband's services for these tasks now. Even when I was single, though, I was able to assemble Ikea furniture on my own--it just took longer. I also didn't know that you could order furniture for delivery at a reasonable cost. As much as I do enjoy visiting the store, it can be difficult navigating the parking lot and picking up larger items. These days, I find the delivery fees to be well worth it.
