  • So far everything is good. I received my first order today, which arrived fairly early. I noticed the box had a slit on the side but it looks like the contents were not damaged (except for some denting on one of the cardboard boxes—probably from the transit). The ice packs were not melted and nothing was missing from my order. Also, I was glad to see that none of the items expire super early. I will update this review once I try the products.

  • I tried this company's meal delivery service once on a promotion. Once that was over, though, it was impossible to afford. Other brands out there are much more economically affordable. This one, though tasty, just wasn't realistic for your average American working class family. The ingredients were good. The quality was fine. Customer service seemed to be okay from what little I interacted with them. I just can't afford their brand.

  • I enjoyed it - I think mainly because we got free cookie dough every time with our purchase. Their cookie dough is SO GOOD. They have an almond chocolate chip one and their black bean one is just... *chefs kiss*. Thought the meals were alright, but it wasn't appealing after a while. Just like Hello Fresh though, I ran into the issue of not wanting to eat as much as we thought after a week, and food just ended up getting piled up. I had to stop and share the food with friends because it was getting to be too much. I think it's worth it if you want fresh healthy meals in controlled portions!

  • Most recently tried this grocery/meal kit. I LOVE IT. Being able to pick and choose items. If something calls for bread you get an entire loaf! Which means you can remove that ingredient from another meal if it requires it. The meals are different and delicious. Then the add ons of fruit, snacks etc. All things I would've never tried before but loved them & you can read the nutrition information on things before adding to your cart! The concept is great! Customer service is wonderful too, i received a damaged box with damaged products & they completely refunded me for the entire box even though only a couple items were no good! It is pricey which is a downfall for me because many other meal kits offer discounts or don't cost as much. But if it fits in your budget, it's worth it!

  • It was okay. I liked that it kind of "pushed" me to try new products that I would probably not have bought myself. The packaging is decent and about as sustainable as it can be. I found the website just a little difficult to navigate, but no major issues.

I didn't like that almost all of the sauces they sent me were almond or nut-based. It was a weird texture and my partner didn't like the meals that included them. It's a bit pricey, too.

  • We have used hungryroot for over a year now and can strongly recommend it. The variety and options are great (once you sort out the things you dislike). If you are looking for new ideas or trying to cut down on meat/poultry consumption then I would absolutely give them a try.

Some items that you fall in love with suddenly are no longer available. It has happened several times that we started to like a few of their items and then never saw them again.

  • Really good food & on time delivery. I really that they build meals for you. I like that the ice packs could be used as plant food.
