Heyday Canning Company earns largely positive reviews for turning canned beans and soups into fast, flavorful meal-makers, with standouts like Coconut Curry Chickpeas, Harissa Lemon Chickpeas, Kimchi Sesame Navy Beans, Enchilada Black Beans, and Tomato Alla Vodka Cannellini. Reviews also flag weaknesses: occasional blandness or excessive sweetness, mushy or overcooked beans, bitter or oily notes, very high sodium, and some flavors missing depth—making quality uneven across SKUs.
I tried the Tomato à la Vodka sauce from Hay Day Canning Company, and it was genuinely delicious. The flavor was rich, the texture was great, and it made dinner feel effortless. I love a good canned sauce moment, and this one definitely delivered.
I have tried the coconut curry chickpeas and harissa lemon chickpeas from heyday canning. They are both delicious. I've had them on their own, but they would be great added to a soup or stew a well. Yum!
Unique flavors (I tried the Kimchi sesame), good beans, nice for a change of pace. I'd say if the kimchi sesame one were any indication, the flavors probably are on the blander side (I expected more of a kimchi kick.)
I really love that they make fun and delicious flavors of chickpeas! The cans look so cute in my pantry and I love how colorful they are. They taste amazing and are really affordable. I'll continue buying them.
Heyday Canning Company sells a range of canned beans.
In their own words
Co-founders Kat and Jaime decided to launch Heyday Canning Co. after realizing that canned food had so much potential that wasn't being realized. Canned food, after all, is convenient, naturally preserved, and packed in fully recyclable packaging. But the flavor and quality of most canned goods leaves quite a bit to be desired.
Heyday is on a mission to make canned food an exciting and delicious staple in the pantry of today's home cooks. By leading with bold, vibrant flavor and sourcing the best possible ingredients, Heyday is here to change everything you thought you knew about canned food.
