Grove Collaborative earns largely positive reviews for effective, fresh‑smelling, eco‑minded cleaning and home essentials, but frustration around an aggressive, confusing subscription model and occasional product quality issues tempers the praise. Reviews credit the brand’s reusable glass dispensers, concentrates, scents like Lemon Eucalyptus and Orange Rosemary, and broad curated selection (from Dirty Labs to OSEA), while calling out weak sprayers, breakable glass bottles, hit‑or‑miss house‑brand tools, and packaging waste; buyers who dislike subscriptions or want maximum cleaning power may be disappointed.

Love love love their cleaners. The scents are amazing and they do a great job. My personal favorite is the apple cider scent in the fall!

The shopping experience was super weird. The default was a subscription that I did not want. And to cancel the subscription felt like it took a few emails and a dozen clicks. The products were fine, but no better than anything else out there. It just wasn't a customer friendly experience at all, hence the low rating.
Feedback
A better customer experience, better UX, and more clear customer service.

My favorite thing about this brand is the lack of single-use plastic. I also really like that they are available in big retailers like Target, making them more accessible to people. However, it is at a slightly higher price point and sometimes feels like it isn't cleaning like other brands.

I have been using the dish soap, all purpose cleaner, and laundry detergent for several years and love the products. Their customer service is also spot on. Once, the shipment arrived and the dish soap had leaked. They immediately replaced the shipment without being asked. I highly recommend the walnut sponges as well. The only gripe I have is with their spray bottles. I have had issues with them failing-which is disappointing because the ethos of the company is to eliminate plastic waste.

I made a one time purchase and they keep trying to charge me monthly despite having made several requests to cancel my "subscription" - which I never signed up for in the first place. Once you purchase anything from here they will make it impossible to cancel and you will keep getting billed. Do not fall for this scam.

Although they are trying to be an eco-friendly brand, their Grove branded products are a lot of plastic. Yes they are designed to reduce plastic waste but it's still a lot of plastic being introduced. It's all starting to feel like Grove is basically becoming another Amazon. But I would still prefer to have Grove than Amazon any day. They also introduced a supply chain fee for every purchase on top of their shipping cost. There have been reports/evidence of fake supply chain issues so I would hope Grove isn't trying to gouge it's customers by hopping on this fake supply chain trend.... So you pay for a Grove membership ($20), plus shipping per purchase, plus supply chain per purchase, so what is the point of the membership?

While I do like the "clean" product models, and that they also offer many different companies under the same umbrella, it can get a bit overwhelming to find anything. Plus the whole subscription model is not really for me. I prefer to purchase as I really need it, and not have to wait, or get a new bottle when I still have enough in the old bottle. The products usually smell good, and I did really like a couple of them, but overall, will use what I can find in a store.

I contacted Grove mid-July to cancel my membership because the link in their email to cancel my membership was broken. They confirm cancellation. Then I get an email just before the renewal date saying that my payment is going to renew. I never signed up for this membership and they can see via my purchase history that I never used the membership. I was just collecting a coupon that I got with some cookware that I purchased. I had to find a way to give the business a customer-facing negative review because this is three strikes for dark sales automation practices. This is not ok.

I have been a Grove Collaborative since Oct. 2020 and have now subscribed as a "VIP" which means no shipping costs (for a minimum order). I value their mission to be plastic free and what to support that and get most of our cleaning products from Grove. 1) Website is easy to use and if you have issues, customer care is excellent and easy through email; 2) Not all products work well - in my quest for a better world, I am willing to try new products but not all of them have functioned satisfactorily. Take the case of the dishwasher scrubber with a wooden handle and replaceable head - sounds terrific BUT the head eventually becomes too loose to stay in place and the wooden handle breaks. Mind you, shifting to these new products is NOT a cheap undertaking so you should be prepared to experiment. The concentrated stain remover never works for me but the concentrated all purpose cleaner in the mini glass bottles are keepers for us. 3) While the packages arrive in a recyclable box and the stuffing used is brown paper - I still feel that the boxes are way too big. 4) Products that can be found in supermarket shelves such as Mrs. Meyers or 7th Generation are not necessarily cheaper. And lastly, 5) I feel that Grove should invest in more time doing their R&D for the products that carry their brand. It's really been a hit and miss and I hope that the quality of their house branded products can become reliable in the future. I will continue to be a Grove customer because it feels good to support the cause of moving to be plastic free. Just be prepared to experiment what works best for you.

I appreciate the company’s mission. However when I purchased their laundry spray, I noticed that the spray bottle was very poor quality. It drips A LOT after spraying so it wastes A LOT of product. I have higher expectations for packaging when a product is expensive. It needs to work. This frugal friend is not a fan of their laundry spray because the packaging is very cheap and wastes the product. I’m also searching for something that is local to me too. Cheers.

I actually love this stuff. I love how compact and convenient it is. It has slowly started to replace a lot of my other cleaning supplies. Also I love the natural smells it’s not too perfumed, which is nice for sensitive noses.

I would say sometimes the product isn’t as potent. I feel I have to add more to the recommended or use more product

I mostly like Grove. They’re now a B Corp, which is important to me. They carry a wide variety of more sustainable products, and their Grove brand is expanding. I d love to see

I mostly like Grove. They’re now a B Corp, which is important to me. They carry a wide variety of more sustainable products, and their Grove brand is expanding. I d like to see even less plastic and more in the way of recycled paper products, rather than bamboo, which is resource heavy. I love their blood orange hand sanitizer and always keep it on hand. They have a recurring shipment subscription which is handy for managing household consumables.

I love this company! They are the perfect hub to find several options for sustainable or natural alternatives to traditional home items. I especially love their seasonal line, which features different designs and scents to match the season.

I think that there are still some items that they could add to their inventory, as I can't quite get everything I need from just Grove yet.
