The good: fashionable South Korean brand that offers spectacles of the sunglasses and eyeglass variety. Unique vision, amazing storytelling, great partnerships and in store experience. A brand with opportunity.
The bad: Are you there, optician? It’s me, a progressive lens user.
This brand only offers single vision RXs on their lenses. If you wear progressives, this brand is not for you. With a slightly above average price point, you would think this brand would want to capture the fashionable prescription market as well.
I’m a person who doesn’t mind paying extra for a pair of glasses that makes my face slay. Let me in!!!
Gentle monster’s website suggests to buy a pair and send them to an external optician. But this means if there is an issue with the glasses, you cannot get them repaired for free. Wow!!!
One more thing - unsure if this is an in store “everyone tries these on” issue, but the metal frames feel a bit flimsy and open on their own. Maybe tighten the hinge tension a bit.
