Dutch earns polarized reviews: its tele-vet care generally works—same-day video appointments, clear treatment plans, and successful prescriptions to local pharmacies—yet persistent pharmacy and platform failures undermine trust. Reviews praise convenient at-home consults and compassionate, knowledgeable vets, but cite missing or delayed medications (even with rush), no-shows, clunky UX, aggressive auto-refills, limited state prescribing, and poor follow-up—serious drawbacks if pets need timely treatment.

Signed up yesterday and got an appointment for today. Saw the vet on a video call and was given a prescription for a feral cat we are taking care of. The prescription was sent to Costco so I can pick it up the same day (today). All for $11 plus the cost of the prescription. Would highly recommended them.

I’m reading these reviews of vets not showing up or not prescribing after my appointment. I’m not really sure what happened but I was very lucky. I hope I don’t run into any issues as those below. DUTCH does let you know in advance about the 15 no show. As far as the other issues that people needed for their dogs I really don’t understand why a vet would participate and not show up. My dogs were prescribed meds. I am able to pick up at my pharmacy. My experience was surprisingly smooth. The only thing I didn’t like was I am pretty sure I put in for both dogs at the same time…. and the vet would only treat one and made me make another appointment. So I had to go back on Dutch and make a second appointment for my other dog. That was a frustrating just glad that I was able to reschedule in the same day. Again hope I don’t run into any issues like the reviews I read if I ever need them again.

Horrible experience. These Vets follow Youtube videos and will not write a prescription. My dog has a tracheal collapse. They dispense homeopathic meds that can be found on Youtube. After consultation at 8:40am the Vet never filled the prescription as of this evening. Site is closed calling in the evening Saturday as my dog is gasping for air and choking. I will report this company to Better Business Bureau and have it shut down doing business in Florida. Extremely poor service.

This is an unreliable service. Scheduled an appointment and the Vet was a No Show. Dutch charges a $15.00 fee if their customers are a No Show. What about them? Do they reimburse their clients when they’re a No Show ?

What good is veterinary care of medications they prescribe never make it? Worthless. I signed up for Dutch at the beginning of the year with a yearly plan. The first sign of trouble was with my account. I was able to sign up and see a vet the same day, he was great. He tells me what he is going to call in and tells me I'll see the order shortly. Within 15 minutes I get an email saying it has processed and to confirm the order. I go back to the website and when I try to log in I get a screen asking me to sign up for an account. Frustrating but I understand technology isn't perfect. Contact "customer service" and they say they cannot find my email. I tell them that I have already been charged, had a visit and several emails. The workaround was to have the prescription called in to a local pharmacy. I authorize that and wait, I call the pharmacy and nothing is there. I reach back out to "customer service" and they then say "the pharmacy you chose cannot dispense what is ordered, do you have a Walmart or Costco nearby?" Unfortunately that email went to my spam folder (probably because of the huge influx of promotional emails they were sending) finally found that email and let them know Costco would be fine, they say they'll let the pharmacy team order it and let me know when it's been called in, then I hear nothing. I asked multiple times to go ahead and cancel my account with no reply. At this point I figure I've already paid the money might as well use the service for the year. So my senior pet bless his heart, started showing signs of a UTI. I can make a vet visit and see a wonderful vet. She recommends something for his UTI as well as something for his dry skin. I go ahead and place the order with Dutch. They send me an email saying it's processed and that it'll be delivered by Friday. Jokes on me for trusting them again, because it's Friday and the medication still hasn't even left the facility. I reach out to "customer service" who tells me, "Oh, when we say we're shipping medications it can take 4 to 8 days," which is contrary to the email that I initially had saying that it had shipped additionally in a previous email said that if you order during the weekday it's 1 to 2 business days. My appointment was Wednesday morning so Friday makes sense, if it has actually left their warehouse. Overall the vets are great but again how good is a vet if the medication they prescribe never makes it to the pet that you're ordering stuff for. Hopefully this medication arrives shortly because again, my dog has a UTI, and I'm just going to cut the rest as a loss this service is a waste of money. Edited to add I'm pretty sure their "customer service" is an AI bot because all 7 emails I have received say the same thing just in different words. The "home office" address is also either a UPS store or a fake front, so corporate vultures out to make another dime for providing severely sub-standard service. If I were a vet no way would I offer to see patients through this platform, ethically it has to be skirting that line.

Nothing on their website worked properly. I had a hard time even signing up for an account. I had to use another email because the first just wouldnt work. And then I tried to schedule a vet call and it wouldnt accept my photos of my cat's history. I tried on my phone, my laptop etc. Horrible website.

The ad says 24/7 service but you have to still schedule it out a couple days. You cannot get emergency advice, and when they trap you they won’t refund your account. They just ignore you and pretend you’re still a member. Requested a refund the 14th (the day I realized they wouldn’t actually help) and it’s now the 30th.

When you hurt me, that’s one thing. Takes a lot. However, when you are the cause of my dog-son to suffer, I pretty much HATE YOU! This is my unfortunate story with DUTCH. Mistakes happen, right? People fail customers from time-to-time and, generally, they compensate to keep the customer. DUTCH has no interest because, the Internet is full of fools! What happened? Normal exchange. Wasn’t my first experience with Dutch, isn’t my first complaint. THIS TIME, I signed up again, only instead of monthly, I said, get a discount for the year, okay. I just realized the discount wasn’t applied but, I that's not even why I’m writing. Picked out the medication that I need (Apoquel), made the Vet appointment, met with the Vet, all good, right? Vet sends me a message confirming his action. ORDER NEVER GETS MADE! I’m sitting here, like a dumbass waiting, while my dog is scratching!! Gee this is taking a long time, let me go check on the order. NO ORDER! Get an email from Kat. You need to talk to a Vet... Suddenly, the snarky email disappears from Outlook, obviously recalled and, magically, now, 4 days later, AN ORDER shows up in my account! WORST customer lack-of-service experience ever!! Going to the vet would have cost me the same as emergency YOU-F* up but I have to pay for it, shipping!! $35!! Why didn’t I just go to the vet? Why am I doing this online BS? They got one to do and didn’t do it. Now, my dog is suffering because I made the choice to go with Dutch.

I was able to quickly get flea medications for my dog through Dutch. I scheduled a meeting with a vet and the vet was very professional. The call only took 10 minutes and it involved answering a few questions during the call and showing my dog to the vet through Zoom. After the call, I had the medication I had asked for waiting for me in my account to checkout. There was a promotion on flea medication so I got a really good price as well. After I paid for the medication, it arrived in just a few days.

What I liked the most about Dutch was how quickly I could see a vet. I signed on the same day and was able to schedule a call with a vet right then and there. My dog was experiencing GI issues, and the vet was super nice. She gave me some at-home remedies and recommended a few OTC products for my dawg Gucci. Overall, this was a great experience and a convenient new way to seek help for my furry family members.

Needed an antibiotic for my cat for a UTI. Found Dutch online. Advertised same day appt. I added antibiotic to shopping cart and tried to request video visit appt. Was required to sign up for membership and fill out a long application form and submit my cat's photo of his penis. 30 minutes after struggling to get cat to let me photograph his genitals and paying $140 for membership plus antibiotic, I am not able to get a same day video visit! No appts available for 2 weeks. I try to call to cancel the deal since this cat's UTI can't wait and I'm feeling angry about false advertising and fraudulent intent. No customer service option or phone number. I had to send an email. Who knows when or if they'll respond if they don't even have enough staff to see patients within an acceptable timeframe who had to pay a pricey annual membership fee upfront without a trial or cancellation option plus a prescription they can't even order?! I reported them to the FTC.

I have a neurotic dogs who I love enrormously - I know most dogs are neurotic and we love them for it but sometimes we need a little help. Dutch was AMAZING. I got an appointment same day and treatment sent quickly with incredible advice from the vet. Thank you Dutch!

Amazing veterinarian and service. The medication takes a week to dispense, but seeing the local vet takes 3 weeks and several hundred dollars more. The USPS messed up my delivery, which shouldn’t have been Dutch’s fault. Instead they took it upon themselves to find every avenue possible to correct the mistake that USPS made. I received my cat’s prescription eventually.

I had such a great experience with Dutch! I was able to get an appointment quickly to discuss my dog's allergy issues. We talked about medication and the DR. took time to talk to me about possible side effects (which my primary vet did not, she just gave me 5 refills and called it a day). I also had a follow-up question for her, so I messaged her through the platform and I received a response in just a few hours. It's so nice to have an alternative for video, especially because my dog has car anxiety. The vet created my pup's treatment plan, so it's all in her profile and I get her medication on a subscription basis. LOVE it!

Dutch was a godsend to me and my Senior shepherd Agnes with arthritis. Neither of us jumps in the car without a thought anymore. The waiting room experience where all three of my dogs contracted kennel cough this year waiting over an hour for junior vet care and then one had to be rushed to an ER that night for ARS heve REALLY soured me on the current veterinary office ordeal. The vets are usually great. But getting through the non-support staff really has become too much of an ordeal. I reached out to Dutch to spare Agnes and myself this hardship. She does not deserve this. We had just HAD an in home veterinary visit. However, over a week later, the needed NSAID had not yet been ordered!!! After days of fruitless calling to doctor’s office and dispensary, I happened upon DUTCH. THANK GOD. Agnes was seen the same day or next. The Doctor was AMAZING. Knowledgeable. Patient. (Both Agnes and I have mobility issues related to our arthritis!) And I had used ZOOM only stationary, once before. Thorough! He needed to see her gait. We discussed myelopathy vs arthritis. She had had the genetic rule out test done which was helpful. Nothing rushed or HMO about her consultation. The doctor had me help him VISUALIZE HER GUMS! And a few other steps of a thourogh exam. Her medication arrived 48hrs. later in my mailbox. There were FOLLOW UP EMAILS AND CONTACT INFO!!!! Afterwards, colleagues and I noted the high standard of care in DUTCH vs some human sites. 🤣. Of course, Agnes can’t speak for herself on her symptoms. An amazing experience. I have already recommended site to others with older, mobility affected dogs and cats. And mobility affected people. Or those who simply are time compressed. So good to know it is there. We will be reaching out again. I do hope Chewy’s pharmacy makes a relationship with them. May bring med price down a bit, possibly. MJ FENTON FORD, MS RN FNP

Please read prior to using Dutch veterinary service. If you hate going to vet so bad you’re willing to pay extra money and wait long periods of time for any of the prescribed medication then this may be for you. It is NOT a savings on prescription medication. I learned the prescriptions offered for my pet was actually more expensive. And it is limited in what services can be provided. Vet service provided is not thorough. Understandably being virtual limits the ability to perform a comprehensive assessment. Vet spent about 5 minutes with me and didnt ask to look at my dog, my impression is it was like a pharmacist visit. He prescribed meds. Once I experienced my “visit” and read the routine that was prescribed it hit me what a ripoff this service is - their prices are same or more as a regular vet (in my case was a LOT more). That’s when I realized it’s marked up to cost of convenience despite having paid for the service unlike a Sams club or a Costco there is zero discount despite the innuendo in the web advertising. I was suckered by the initial pricing observed on some medications. I should’ve known was too good to be true. Don’t be suckered like me and sign up unless you absolutely would rather pay a good bit extra to not go to vet. And remember that a.virtual visit can’t be as thorough - so diagnosis is more likely to be flawed and potentially cost more as the vet prescribes a litany of medication routines to try. Huge risk with a price tag to match. Don’t be like me and be duped.

There’s either good reviews or terrible reviews. My experience was bad. Vet call went smooth, paid for my prescriptions and they have yet to come. Almost waited too long for them to actually take my cat to the vet. It’s not worth the risk of not getting your pets prescription in time. Do not use Dutch. If I don’t get answers to my emails I’m calling the better business bureau

Our experience with Dutch was so fantastic I actually asked them to send me a link so I could write a review. Because, if you’re like me, I do a ton of research before subscribing to something and the reviews I read made me nervous. I’m here to say I’m glad I trusted my gut and gave Dutch a try. I went with the $35/month subscription. The service, once I signed up was incredible. I got a telemedicine appt within 2 hours of signing up. The vet was thorough, intelligent and understanding. I was able to receive our much needed pet prescription same day, with a $5 transfer fee (fully disclosed on website, so I knew I would pay this), transferred same day to a pet med pharmacy I use. The vet went above and beyond when I had questions after our call and was responsive over chat within minutes. I had no judgement passed with wanting to transfer my prescription what so ever. Dutch customer service was extremely responsive over text within minutes of my questions as well. Even after service, I inquired on how to cancel my monthly membership and customer service responded within 3 minutes via text to say they will take care of it prior to any future billing. I’m extremely satisfied and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I really think this is a company that took initial feedback seriously, has invested in customer service training and hiring and has the right staff on board now. I want to see this company succeed as I think they have completely turned things around from early reviews I read and they made our life so simple with their excellent service. 10 out of 10 Dutch. Thank you!

Dutch veterinarian services is amazing! When I first found them, I thought it was too good to be true because of how affordable they are but they are the real deal! They started my dog on a treatment plan and the prescription medications were mailed to my house. I highly recommend them.

I found the vets to be knowledgeable and caring, and overall, dealing with them to get my animals' medications was a pleasure. Dr Skelton is great.
