When it comes to fragrances, you could say I have a more basic nose that likes your typical light, fresh, floral scents that smell "pretty." D.S. & Durga is my first foray into more unique and complex fragrances and I'm loving it! It feels more sophisticated and evokes memories. I loved the ability to get a sample set and was surprised how much I liked "steamed rainbow." Plus, the websites have Spotify playlists for the scents - makes for a full own experience that uses more than your sense of smell! So I didn't love ALL the fragrances I got, but it's such a personal thing and will keep an eye for future releases. I enjoy D.S. and Durga's mission and appreciate them opening my mind. Start with the sampling sets to figure out what you like.

The packaging for DS & Durga is top notch, but I’m not as impressed with the actual products as much as I thought I would be. I have several Christmas tree candles from different brands, and this is the only version that does not smell tree like to me in any capacity. I don’t think others agree though, so maybe I have a weird candle or my sense of smell is off. All of the candles smelled pretty smoky to me, so they ended up smelling more similarly to each other than i anticipated. As far as throw goes, I found that the candle fills up a small room nicely but minimal throw in a larger room (speaking specifically of the Xmas tree candle). I was also disappointed to see that even though I burned the candle for 5 hours in the first burn, it still tunneled ok side. They’re still nice candles, I just hoped for a higher quality given the price point.
