Bio Enzyme Laundry Booster

  • Thrilled about this laundry product: the detergent itself works very, very well. Adding the laundry booster whitened sheets (at standard temperatures), and towels looked as if they’d been through a ‘stripping’. I love the scent of the detergent but it doesn’t survive the addition of the booster. The fragrance to add to dryer balls is a little too expensive. Erlenmyer flask nice but not strictly necessary. Silicone measuring beaker very useful, but perhaps it could be offered for free with a certain quantity of an order?

  • I'm so happy with all my purchases from Dirty Labs. The bio laundry detergents work well, and don't leave residue on my clothes. Fragrance free versions are available, but I chose the murasaki scent which is lovely and not too strong. I have a cat who sometimes has accidents when she gets scared, and combining the detergent with the laundry booster has worked wonders getting the scent out of fabrics. I love the brands sustainability mission, and the packaging both looks great and is compact, which is perfect for city apartments where storage space is limited. I appreciate that all the products include measuring cups/spoons. The liquid detergent comes with a little silicone beaker and the laundry boost powder includes a little wooden scoop. I didn't purchase one of the pump dispensers so I definitely would have struggled to measure the liquid without it. The only draw back is the price, but overall I think it's a good cost per load of laundry. Since the products are concentrated, you only need a small amount per wash which makes the bottles last a long time.

  • We run, hike, and ski, and are always in need of good laundry detergent for our athletic wear but also want to avoid harsh chemicals that are bad for the environment and ourselves. The previous eco detergent we used wasn't very satisfactory - clothes would come out of the wash smelling slightly sweaty and musty. So I was interested in trying Dirty Labs, and am happy to say all our clothes now are so much cleaner and smell so much fresher! It really makes a huge difference. I really like the booster for extra dirty loads and the hand wash/delicates product for wools (previously I had been using shampoo). I also like the recyclable packaging. Price feels slightly expensive but each product seems to last a while. The Murasaki scent is lovely, but maybe slightly strong - next time I might try the unscented version, but feel sure there will be a next time.

  • As an environmentalist, I love the mindset of this brand. The aluminum packaging is great, the detergent is very effective even on activewear and funky smelling clothes. My only issue is that it’s a bit expensive for what it is and the measuring cup gets sticky and isn’t very precise unless you rinse it out after each use. I love the packaging for the powdered bleach alternative and refill it often. I do liquify it a bit in hot water before adding it to my front load wash so that it dissolves more readily. It’s pretty standard for the kind of whitener that it is so it’s pricey for what you get. I would probably subscribe to the laundry detergent if it were more comparable to what I can get in the grocery store but it was good to try out.

  • The products are devastatingly good - I say devastating because they’re generally pretty pricey. I do feel like they have innovative formulations, so I do like to purchase when there’s a sale and justify it by saying I’m paying to support innovation. The one product that particularly made me sad was the Liquid Dish Soap. I purchased to try this one out with low hopes, and was sadly proven very wrong. The dish soap is so good. Not a dealbreaker but just a note - when your laundry is fully dry, the scent will fade. This actually doesn’t bother me at all since I like my clothes smelling neutral, but just a note for those who are expecting a fragrant pile of dry laundry. I’m only docking one star purely because of the price point. Based on the marketing, I don’t think that it’s meant to be seen as a luxury brand, so the price point doesn’t seem fully justified. I understand it’s a small company, so they’re probably pricing their products this way to recoup their research costs, but I hope we can see some price decreases as they expand.
