Reviews mention

  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay
  • Simple, accessible ruleset
  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • I have played this game many times - at parties, in class at school, and at family functions. It's great for social events and is bound to make everyone giggle and have a laugh

  • One of my favorite games from college. Hilarious. A great game for when you’re unhinged (drink or smoke before for added fun).

  • This is a really fun game to play with older members of your family and friends. Though not the best option for children, this card game is full of laughs and inside jokes that is very entertaining.

  • Fun game with the family especially while having some drinks! Would love to see new cards coming out :)

  • Cool look and feel, high quality, travel friendly, amazing website literally obsessed

  • Very funny game, played it with family members & friends and we all have a great time. The only downside to the game is eventually everyone knows the cards, then you need to buy expansion packs and it makes it fun again.

  • Very fun game, especially with a lot of people. I love that they offer the expansion packs so you never run out of new cards and combinations to play with! Never stop laughing while playing this!

  • Lots of laughs and many different combinations of cards to keep you surprised after several rounds of the game.

  • It’s a really fun game and I played it a lot especially during university times.

  • These cards were a part of nearly all my friend gatherings in high school. They're fun, just alternative enough to spawn discussion, and not get boring after a few rounds. My one issue is that like any card game once the players familiarize themselves with the cards one too many times it grows old and you have to buy the expansion decks.

  • Cards Against Humanity is a hilarious and boundary-pushing game that never fails to entertain. With its dark humor and outrageous combinations, it creates unforgettable moments of laughter. The constant release of expansion packs keeps the game fresh and adds even more comedic possibilities. The inclusive nature of the game makes it a hit with all types of players. If you're ready for a wild and laughter-filled game night, Cards Against Humanity is a must-have.

  • I think most people would agree this is a great game. They have great marketing and so many expansion packs to really customize the game. I think it's most fun played with a large group. The only complaint I have, and it's not really a complaint but after being out for so long now it's no longer the first choice for alot of game nights. But when we do play it, it's always fun.

  • As a kid, I loved the game Apples to Apples. As an adult, I love the game Cards Against Humanity. They have many different card sets and expansion packs. This game is great to have for get togethers, parties, or just to simply laugh at the cards by yourself. Be aware- the game can get very inappropriate.

  • Very fun game to play with friends but wouldn't recommend it with family :D

  • This game makes me laugh every time! I love that it's easy to explain and get going. And everyone has fun. A great take on Apples to Apples.
