  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay

  • Explicit, polarizing content

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • 10/10! My family and friends love playing this game. Its always a fun time when we play Cards Against Humanity!

  • Can get old fast unless you keep buying expansion packs which have decreased in quality.

  • Cards Against Humanity is a family favorite among our teenagers but also all of our friends. I love that there are different packs. It keeps things so fun and entertaining. It is a go to!

  • I love playing this with my friends, it’s always hilarious to see what cards people pick. Make sure you don’t have kids around, not for little ears to hear!

  • Its a heavy game playing this with strangers is super uncomfortable. At least play it with people you know so you won't feel so judged.

  • This is a hilarious game! We found it at a condo rental one summer and I’ve loved it ever since!

  • Cards Against Humanity is an uproariously funny and raunchy game that guarantees a great time with friends. I've played this game so many times in college and graduate school, with groups as small as 4 or as big as 20. It's like a must-have in my game collection, like a grown-up version of Apples to Apples!

  • Cards Against Humanity is a game where each participant fills in the blank(s) of a statement with a word or phrase on cards that have been handed out. Some of the phrases are pretty anodyne, while others are outrageous, tasteless or rude. The use of either in the right (or wrong!) context is where it gets interesting and fun. I wouldn't say this was a game for all the family but that depends on the relationship you have with them. If they're easily shocked or prudish, it just doesn't work. After a while you get to know the better cards, so expansion packs are necessary. Make sure you get ones that are geared to your country as there are lots of cultural references that otherwise wouldn't be understood.

  • I played Cards Against Humanity with friends and we had such a good time we played for 3 hours. The game can be offensive for some, but if you enjoy dark humor, you'll like it. The cards are crazy and the combinations can be ridiculous. Play with close friends and you'll have a great time. I recommend it if you want to laugh and don't mind dirty jokes.

  • Fun game as long as you're playing with the right people who can all take a joke.

  • The premise of the game is fun, but some of the text options have not aged well and in this increasingly tense political climate, it would be nice to see them revisit some of their cards and consider replacing them. Their activism and partnership with charities is an excellent step and I admire them being at the forefront of community aid.

  • I think the wickedness of the cards is fantastic. But you do need to be playing with other like-minded people. My teacher friends are too kind to be cruel and are uncomfortable playing this game. Where's their sense of humor?

  • I feel like there is not much I can say other than that there is a reason this game is a standard at literally every party you'll ever go to. It's fun, irreverent, and surprises you with how witty others can be.

  • This is such a fun game that helps you get to know each other rapidly. Edgy/fun
