Byredo earns largely positive reviews for sophisticated, unisex fragrances like Gypsy Water, Bal d’Afrique, Mojave Ghost, and Rose of No Man’s Land, with chic minimalist packaging and, for many, all‑day wear. Reviews also flag inconsistency: some scents have weak projection or short longevity, certain items (lipstick, mascara, hair perfumes) disappoint, and a few finds smell overly powdery or sharp; still, the brand’s layered compositions and standout candles keep fans repurchasing.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
all their scents are unique and just so good - while scents are very personal, it is the one brand that I enjoy & can wear a large majority of their scents.
Lovely in-store experience. The brand sells the experience almost like walking in a museum. Innovative names and unique fragrances that I can't find anywhere. Although expensive, the bottles have lasted me a long time (my oldest is currently still half full after 3.5 years) Great packaging and ideal present for anyone who also loves perfumes.

Slightly pricey!
Their smells are heavenly and let’s be honest, their bottles are so gorgeous and minimalist too. Love the fresh richness of their scents, especially Bal d'Afrique and Mojave Ghost

I would love to see a bigger range of scents.

I have about 6 Bryredo perfumes and every time I finish one, I buy another. They are luxe, heavenly, delicious, mysterious, and my signature scent. I’ve never been a Le Labo girl so I can’t compare but this has been a staple of mine for years and recommend it. It’s not trendy, so many different scents but all so different and great.
Ben Goram is a genius and a zaddy. The scents are well done, the branding is clean, and they're available in stores!

Wow this product has the best smells. Packaging is very clean and neat. Looks very high end but the price great. Lasts a long time!

Another super pricey perfume that’s unfortunately worth the price point haha. Lasts throughout the day and I love the familiar, yet unique scents that Byredo offers! I have the Mojave Ghost and have been complimented a few times on it, but my next scent will be Roses of No Man’s Land!
Byredo fragrance is impeccable. There is nothing like it. I love luxury scents but don’t always want to splurge. Mojave Ghost made me hand my card over immediately.

I love Byredo. There's a reason it's so popular--it's not the cool branding or the viral moments, it's that it really does just smell great. I've used a variety of Byredo scents, but Gypsy Water is probably my staple.

I purchased the perfume discovery set so I could try before buying a bigger bottle. For $53, you get 6 vials of their most popular scents and a $50 redeemable voucher. At the time, I didn't have a store near me that carried Byredo so it was definitely worth it! I really loved all the scents in the sample pack + the 2 samples you get with purchase. Bal D'Afrique, Gypsy Water and Young Rose ended up being my favorites.
Love their scents and candles. My favorite summer perfume is their scent Sundae. For fall/winter, I've loved their Chai candle.
Their candles make me feel like I am wearing a gold pinky ring in a frothy bathtub. Luxury, baby.

It's expensive, but you get what you pay for, right?
A full range of interesting, unique scents with a lot of depth and wearability. Every scent has its own personality while remaining firmly planted in the DNA of the Byredo scent house. Hard to go wrong here! The cosmetic products are also wonderful to use. They offer a luxury interaction with easy to use formulas. It's easy to get a beautiful, well-balanced look with their products. The packaging on everything is in-line with the cost - this includes both the outside packaging and the actual packaging of the product. It's all so fun to unbox and use!
Worth the luxury. Have yet to buy a scent I didn’t like (have purchased at least 5 now). The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I feel the candles could throw off a bit more scent and that the perfumes could have a bit more staying power. Other than that- such a great gift (for someone else or just yourself !) with chic packaging.
I own every 'gypsy water' product including perfumes, soap, lotion, and more. I always repurchase them! Byredo scents are on another level of complexity and I love the unisex concepts. You should definitely give it a try. The packaging is also very eye pleasing and looks so good on your shelf.

Lovely packaging, scents, and overall experience. Definitely pricey but a nice treat once in a while!
The scents are truly beautiful! (in both the candles and the EDP) Very unisex also. My favourites are Mojave Ghost, Bal d'Afrique, Accord Oud, Bibliothèque. Each fragrance also has a unique story behind it. NOTE: Make sure that you spray some on yourself in a shop and wear it for a day before you commit to the full size. (gypsy water is beautiful but smells like pure sweat on me - learnt this the hard way).
I like this brand and have tried many perfumes from them, I like them all except “Eyes closed” it really smells like carrots… I know it has carrot extract in it but for me it’s overwhelming.
Really love most of the scents that they offer. I've been using their candles for quite some time, and they make great gifts as well. Price point is of course a bit high, but you can sometimes find them on sale from some of their stock lists if you're patient!
If you're looking to splurge then definitely would recommend. I get tons of compliments when I wear these fragrances and feel like they're very unique to other perfumes I own, my favorites are Young Rose and Gypsy Water. I also have the Tree House room spray which is my all time favorite product from them but it sadly has been discontinued for awhile now and hoping it comes back! I gifted the incense to my boyfriend which is 60 sticks in 3 different scents and he loves them.
