Brightland’s vibrant packaging arrived at my door on the very first day of summer, as if summoned by sunshine itself! I was so excited to host that same evening! The timing couldn’t have been more perfect! We kept things simple with a patio setup just as golden hour began to pour its warm light across the space. It was our first evening of summer dining under the open sky, and Brightland’s Luminous Capsule and Wildflower Honey were undoubtedly the stars of the evening! The Luminous Capsule brought a radiant energy to everything it touched! The Parasol Champagne vinegar that is double fermented with California chardonnay grapes and juicy Navel and Valencia oranges paired so well with the arugula salad. It was citrusy and extremely complex in flavor! Many of us had never had anything like it! The Awake olive oil drizzled over grilled peaches and pooled beside burrata glowed so beautifully too, as if they were bottled light. It was such a dreamy scene! As for the honey jars, I will be hiding these to make sure they last as long as possible! The wildflower honey is thick, luxurious, and the kind that makes you pause and savor each bite. That evening, we drizzled it onto ricotta and warm baguette. I can't even put into words the joy of that first bite. What an experience! The orange blossom honey is lovely too, though I think it shines more in a simple homemade dressing. For this summer, though, I think I will be experimenting more with the Parasol and simple green salads. There’s a quiet simplicity and joy to eating outdoors in summer, surrounded by girl friends, laughter, and good food. Brightland captured that feeling perfectly. Their products didn’t just complement the meal rather they became part of the experience, part of a core summer memory!
