Reviews mention

  • Luxe textures, effective formulas
  • Wide, thoughtfully curated assortment
  • Repeat-buy hero products
  • Elegant, giftable packaging
  • Heavy fragrance across formulas
  • Hit-or-miss product consistency
  • Occasional disappointing mascaras, lipsticks
  • Limited sustainable, refillable packaging

Beauty Pie earns largely positive reviews for effective, luxe-feeling formulas—standouts include Japanfusion Cleanser, Super Retinol, Über Youth Probiotic Serum Mist, Triple Hyaluronic Acid Eye Cream, candles, and fragrances—so yes, the brand works; however, reviews also flag inconsistencies and drawbacks like heavy fragrance, occasional misses (e.g., mascaras, some lipsticks), and confusing or restrictive membership mechanics. Reviewers praise the broad range and repeat-buys but note formula changes, stock unpredictability, and a desire for samples and more sustainable, refillable packaging.

  • I’ve been a Beauty Pie subscriber for over a year and I’m a huge fan! I’ve tried products from nearly every category and personally their skincare, body care and fragrance products are standouts for me. Don’t sleep on their candles either! The monthly subscription model took some time to understand (it’s easiest to understand when you use it) but their newly launched alternative is much easier to navigate.

I would love to see more product development, including body oils, etc. - I’m sure that will come with time.

  • I LOVE Beauty Pie, whilst paying for the subscription to access the website as well as cost of goods is high, the quality is amazing. I have never used a product from here that I didn't like. Couldn't recommend more

  • I LOVE Beautypie! Every product that I've tried has instantly become a staple. I especially like their affordably priced fragrances that smell luxurious and last all day

  • LOVE. the price point is great. the products are extremely effective - and I can try so many different new things as it's affordable.

  • I really like a lot of the products, especially the ones that are dupes for the more expensive products I used to use as a beauty editor, though I'd say the products really are hit or miss, and you have to be comfortable with ending up with a product you don't want to use again. (I'd say for every 4 products I like, there is one I don't.) But because I've found enough dupes that work well, I consider it worth the money.

I wish the packaging were more sustainable and that there were refill options! I also wish you could have question-free returns on all the products that don't work.

  • Lovely packaging, very easy to manage subscription and brilliant products

Not all products are great but would be good to have some testers

  • Initially was a huge fan of everything they were offering but found their subscription model awkward - never had enough points when I needed to stock up and other times found that I felt compelled to purchase just because I had accumulated points, resulting in over consumption. Also found that many of the 'non-member' prices for their products were over inflated - there were better quality and more economically priced alternatives elsewhere.

  • DANGEROUS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. GAVE ME WRINKLES AND LINES I NEVER HAD BEFORE. - A friend gave me retinol and youth bomb for my birthday. It was fine in the beginning but after a few months of use I had the worst reaction to the retinol - my face blew up and went extremely puffy, red and itchy. Sadly after this I was left with deep and fine lines under my eyes that have remained now 1 month later. It’s awful. I never had a single line under my eyes before this. I am 37 years old and it aged me over night. I then used the youth bomb two nights ago and had the same puffy reaction. I looked awful and it ruined my weekend. I am now terrified once the swelling goes down that I will be left with even more lines. I would happily put a photo here to help warn people off of this brand but it doesn’t have an option for that. I would avoid this company at all cost. I don’t have sensitive skin and have never ever had an issue before this. This stuff is poison and dangerous.

  • I love Beauty Pie’s membership pricing model. The annual membership fee is very reasonable, and you get a wide range of high-quality products at price points you normally see in drug stores. I have discovered some all-time favorites. The emails are informational and definitely a value add, and the in-house dermatologist provides great skincare advice.

I wish the skincare products were fragrance-free, because they have really effective formulas, and to risk irritation by adding fragrance seems counterintuitive. Also, several moisturizers are in jar packaging, when airtight would be better. This may be a matter of cost.

  • I've been a Beauty Pie member since November 2018. It began with a $10 monthly membership, which seemed practical, at the time. Since that time, I've placed 5-6 orders. The quality of the products is top-notch. However like any other beauty or skincare product, some things will be wonderful and other, not so much. Taking that into consideration, it would be great, if BP offered samples to customers, like so many other cosmetics companies do. The types of products Beauty Pie has on offer can very easily be found at Sephora, Ulta and various other retailers. So, what's the draw? There really isn't one. At least not any more. The truth is when I first joined, the allure was due, in part, to the idea of saving a lot of money because there was no markup. And the prices were amazing. Unfortunately, they're not so amazing anymore. See the change in prices from 2/24/21 to today 8/522. My favorite retinol eye cream that I bought for under $8 dollars is now nearly $18, a Wondergloss Lip Oil that was $6.71 is now $9.50. A Colour Balm Stick that was $4.40 is now $7.50. With these new prices, which many might argue is an aftereffect of the pandemic, it's become difficult to justify the 40-50% increase on so many products. This is not luxury on a budget. Ultimately, I've decided to not renew my yearly membership. It just doesn't hold the same value.

Only product I didn't love was a Shampoo (can't remember the name unfortunately) - but I appreciate this is a personal preference.

  • Love some products, top quality at affordable prices.

Not all products suit me, so some discovery is needed to find the ones that are a true match, but it is worth the trial and error.
