Away wins strong reviews for durable, sleek luggage that packs efficiently and rolls smoothly, with many users praising years-long performance, thoughtful compression and laundry-bag interiors, and responsive lifetime warranty support. Reviews also flag drawbacks: shells scuff and scratch easily (especially light colors), handles can wobble, wheels or zippers occasionally fail, aluminum dents and feels heavy, and the removable battery is cumbersome under airline rules.

I bought my first away luggage in 2016 and unfortunately my ex bfs cat decided to pee in it while I was visiting :( I liked everything about the luggage and would definitely buy again, however ended up trying a new brand from Canada called Mono because they had a really cool Italian terrazzo design. The functionality of Away was amazing. Loved everything about it. If in fact something happens to my new luggage I probably will go back to Away to give it another try!
Best piece of luggage I’ve ever had. Absolutely worth the money. The quality is great and the customer service is even better. The zipper on my backpack was defective and they swapped my bag out for a brand new one no question. I get compliments on my suitcase every time I use it too!
They flooded the market to the extent that you need to sift through 3-5 identical Away suitcases at the baggage claim before mine. The quality for the price is decent, but I'm unsure if I would buy it again.

I’ve never been a hard side carryon luggage gal, but after seeing so many good reviews of away, I decided to give them a try. I’m officially converted. I now have the bigger carryon as well as the large bag, and some accessories like the packing cubes too. They’ve really thought of so many little touches (like the laundry bag and inner pockets) yet maintained a lightweight and streamline design. They look like they have good customer support, so knowing if I have an issue down the road, I trust Away will have my back. I’m looking forward to trying their newest versions of their bags, too.
Love all my Away products, even if the price point is a little hard to swallow. But I'm out here buying it for family and friends as a gift, so clearly its not that big of a roadblock for me. Currently, I have the Carryon, the Bigger Carryon and the Medium suitcase in coastal blue (as does eveyone else traveling for business on a given day apparantly). What I Love: - You can fit so much stuff in it- but, I dont think this is unique to away/ - Quality of the mechanical elements: zippers - both insiande and outside - are STURDY. Wheels have survived many a cobblestones, mesh netting is perfectly in tact and no issues with the retractable handles. Did notice that my mom's more recent suitcase has a slightly different design to the handle, so wondering if there were issues before - Portable battery pack (althought one broke, but the working one is amazing) - Design elements that are now pretty standard - spinner wheels, hard side, simple construction, comes with laundry bag What I dont Love - Price point - if I didnt already have one of these suitcases, and the strong desire to keep my sets all matching, I would have switched over to a new brand. Prices have sky rocketed since the pandemic, so heres hoping they come back down to a more reasonable price. - OR bring back the perks that made it feel really luxury - like the included plug converters. - Issues with the battery pack - 1/2 of my battery packs broke shortly after I started using it. Since I really only need 1 at a time, its been fine. What is more annoying is that the battery sometimes gets stuck in the suitcase and I have to kick/shake it to loosen it. Not ideal when trying to pop it out at boarding
Love my away case. It’s been through the ringer. My husband also uses it for business trips so it’s gets double the use. Only issue is the tag ripped off. It was a personalized one so that’s a bummer for the quality.
We’ve had about 4 away bags in this family. At first, they were exciting because of the charging element. Airlines don’t like lithium batteries though. I love how they carry so much. Most recently, I was disappointed because we bought a navy blue one extender carry on and literally weeks later better colors came out. I didn’t have my receipt anymore because who saves a receipt for luggage. Erp derp. The inner delicates compartment that tamps down one side is kind of flimsy and tends to break. Not sure I’ll buy another one since the market has evolved quite a bit since my last one.
I have the original Away suitcases in mint green, my favorite colors. The carry on size is perfect for weekend trips and work trips. The large suitcase is great for three week-long trips abroad. Wheels work well - very important! And with the mint green color, never have any worries about identifying my bags on the conveyor belt. I almost never use the battery included with the carry on but could see it coming in handy in an emergency. I understand they've phased that out of newer designs. I wish the exterior is a little more resilient to black marks and scuffs but overall both cases are wonderful.
Love the color selection! They are on the pricier side, but they seem like an investment piece and seem to be a lot more durable than other 'luxury' suitcases. Haven't had any issues with the carry-on so far, which gets the most wear. The charger is a fun additional that comes in handy during travel.
Have had my away set for many years and traveled across the globe and back with them, and they have really held up! They light for a hardshell case, which is definitely helpful on long trips where you need every available pound allowance.
Can't say anything bad about the Away bags. I own the regular size carry-on and the large and they have held up for 8+ years. Can hold a ton, very structurally sound, wheels are still kicking! The only thing is the handle is a tinnnyyyy bit jammed sometimes, but really nothing I think twice about unless I'm writing an online review. Highly recommend them.
Honestly they need better variety and it would be nice if they had like repair kits for scratches on the luggage. They’re so ubiquitous in the USA now people always try to take my bag thinking it’s theirs. It’s also annoying with the charger situation whenever you get on planes. You might as well not buy the one that comes with a charger.
This is the most durable suitcase you will ever own and it is so light! It also very roomy. I can fit everything I need in the carry on. Plus the colors look great!

Have travelled with the carry on a few international trips. Love the clean modern look and range of colors . Price is on the high side but will be worth it if it lasts for years.

I love my Away suitcases. I have the bigger carry on and the large checked suitcase. I'm really delighted by how roomy they are and how much I can pack in the bigger carry-on especially. I also love that they do limited edition color drops. My checked luggage is in the classic coast color but I was able to get the bigger carryon in a special drop of the sky blue. I have also used them to travel in Europe, wheeling these bags over quite a lot of cobblestone and though my faith in the wheels wavered at times -- they never failed me and still glide smoothly everytime I step into the airport! Additional notes :The lock system that is built in is easy enough to work. I also ordered them online and and they arrived to my home quickly !
Buy all my travel gear from this place, I love it have been using it for years!

Love the sleek suitcase with a lot of carrying potential. I just recently had mine replaced by customer support and it was a great experience.
The best suite case I have owned! The carryon fits all my clothing for my weekend getaway trips! It is super convenient and fits perfectly on the overhead bin!
Love my away suit case! I had one for about 7 years. Once the shell finally broke I mailed mine back to store and received a brand new one shortly after. It was incredibly easy!

I have had my suitcases for 5 plus years now and it still holds up well. I purchased them based on the recommendation from some friends that have the suitcases. I have found a small hole in the lining of one of them. My only main complaint is that the extendable handle can get stuck if you suitcase is full. Making it difficult to quickly retract the handle on the fly.
