Violette_FR earns strong reviews for delivering chic, wearable color and an effective multitasking skincare hero, though shade range gaps and some durability issues surface. Reviews praise plush, long-wearing reds (Petal Bouche, Plume, Bisou lines) and the Boum-Boum Milk’s light, hydrating performance, while noting blush fade, lip products settling on chapped lips, occasional component flaws, and a desire for more shades.
I am blown away by the formula and texture of Violette_FR Plume Blush. This is the first time trying anything from Violette_FR and now I understand the hype! The Rose Fumé shade is the perfect cool tone pink blush that I would consider perfect for my everyday look. I have light/medium skin and the cool tone muted pinks give me that natural-flush looking color.
It’s the first time I’ve ever tried a blush with this texture. It feels like a bouncy cushion when you press down on it and feels like a very featherlight cloud upon application. Even if I press down harder or longer for more pigment it doesn’t feel like a cream or a powder. It almost feels like there’s nothing there. I love how you can customize the build ability and how you want it to blend. The way that viral “Transition blush” application looks can be easily achieved using this blush!
It’s extremely blurring. Even though it’s considered a melt to matte finish, don’t worry if you have dry skin it looks great and doesn’t enhance dry flaky patches of skin.
I honestly could get rid of every other blush I have in my makeup bag and exclusively use this one because it does it all and exactly what I’ve always hoped the others would achieve.
I love how quick and easy the baume shine is. It gives a very subtle, glass-like radiant glow without looking like chunks of glitter.) Even though it’s subtle, it glides onto the skin at the perfect intensity. I love that I can quickly apply where I want without needing anything else. No brushes, sponges or finger tips necessary to tap out, blend or blur. Like the other Violette_FR products, it’s another effortless application that is mistake proof. It doesn’t pick up my other makeup underneath and doesn’t cause any patches of makeup (not even with matte foundation!) It looks so pretty on. I glide onto my cheeks and eyelids and it gives a beautiful and natural finish.
I can only speak to the Bisou Balm as i have not tried anything else from the brand, but this product is probably the most innovative colour cosmetic lip product i have ever tried. I am not someone who likes lots of colour on my lips, so this product is perfect for me. It's so hard to describe because the formula is unlike anything i had ever tried but it adds colour that looks unbelievably natural and feels like nothing. I have in two shades and will be adding more. Highly recommend!!!
This product was sent to me as part of an educational promotion in exchange for my honest thoughts.
I was really curious to try the Plume Lip Matte Whip because its texture sounded so different from the liquid lipsticks I usually wear.
Colors: I received Mon Chéri, a warm brown-red. The warm undertones of Mon Cheri make it a perfect earthy color palette. I will wear it the most during the autumn season. En Feu is a fiery red that actually looked a little more orange when I swatched it on my hand. I still like it, but I know I’ll reach for that shade more in the summertime when I go for brighter colors.
Feeling on my lips: The Plume lip shade really lives up to its name. I learned that “plume” in French means feather. It truly feels just like that on my lips, light and airy. The texture has this whipped, mousse-like feel that almost melts as soon as it touches my lips. It sits comfortably without feeling thick or cakey, so I can wear it for hours without it weighing my lips down. I love how it enhances my lips while still feeling barely there, making it perfect for a soft, everyday look.
Scent: The smell also stood out to me. It reminds me of whipped marshmallow or vanilla cake, but not in an overly sweet way, which makes putting it on even nicer.
Applicator: For application, the wand made it really easy to put on. I tried using my fingers to get that blurred effect, but it ended up staining my fingertips. I’ve found it’s better just to massage my lips together and stick to the applicator. It makes less of a mess and saves me from having to scrub the stain off my hands right after.
Pigment: The color payoff is strong. I found that I only need to apply two small dots or swipes. One on my top lip and one on my bottom. This gives an even, effortless look. It’s definitely not on the sheer liquid stain side.I wanted to test the pigment of the lip stains, so I rubbed a piece of paper towel on my hand where I had applied them. Even after rubbing hard, I noticed that some stain remained for both colors. Interestingly, the brighter shade, En Feu, left more pigment on my skin than Mon Chéri. When I first applied them, Mon Chéri’s formula felt thicker, while En Feu was a bit thinner, but in terms of pigment on my hand, En Feu held up better.
Formulation: I’ve noticed that because it’s a whip formula, it moves a little when I’m drinking water or eating. It’s not like those ultra-locked matte liquids. It still wears pretty well throughout the day. After a meal, though, I usually need to touch up the inner part of my lips.
Style: The packaging is chic and very Violette, and I like that the shade range feels modern and creative instead of just the basics. For me, it’s less about being an all-day, transfer-proof lip and more about having a flattering, soft matte that feels good to wear.
