Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel chocolate
  • Inventive, memorable flavor lineup
  • Chunky, satisfying bar format
  • Ethical, mission-driven sourcing
  • Overly sweet chocolate profiles
  • Thick, hard-to-break pieces
  • Inconsistent caramel texture hardness
  • Limited higher-cacao dark options

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

  • It’s tough to compare to other chocolate candy bars because you don’t usually find it at the average big standard supermarket. It costs more but it’s also has more volume than the regular candy bar unless you’re buying by metric ton. The first thing you notice when you open the package and break off a piece of chocolate is that it melt in your hands almost instantly. This indicates to me a lack of alchemical processing and whatever magic elves are used to create this wonderful chocolate deserve a raise. The thing that you will notice next is a delicious chocolatey smell. Unlike other candy bars that smell like the inside of a vat of turpentine this is a much more enjoyable, old factory sensation. Finally, what you’ll notice is a delicate mouthful, yes, I said, mouth feel!, as you enjoy this sweet, not saccharine flavor of chocolate. While there is a premium on this chocolate, it’s well worth it. Save it, enjoy it, love it, propose to it.

  • Sooo good, it’s similar to the taste of a toblerone. There are so many different flavours and I have yet to find one that I don’t like.

  • Obsessed with this chocolate. I have dreams about it

  • My favorite chocolate bar! It is so substantial and the chocolate has great mouth feel. It’s delicious. I like to buy it as gifts because it’s so special and brightly colored. I’ve tried almost every flavor but my favorite is the milk caramel and sea salt. It’s perfect!

  • SUCH delicious chocolate. I also really love their mission and would support them for that alone! Thank goodness they make great chocolate too. My ONLY note is that the size is quite thick and not easily breakable into small, uniform pieces (like a Hershey's bar) so it's hard to eat a small piece and save for later.

  • So delicious and flavourful. Would definitely buy this product again.

  • I love the fact that their unequal pieces reflect the inequality in the chocolate industry and their name, ChocoLONELY, is because they are the only brand fighting their fight in the industry. Beyond its amazing branding and mission, the range of flavours are fantastic and the vegan products absolutely measure up to the originals. If you don't know where to start, I recommend the Caramel Sea Salt - one of the best chocolates out there.

  • It tastes fine. Just over priced imo. Did not like the white strawberry, but I generally don’t care for white chocolate and didn’t realize I had picked that up.

  • Lots of flavors to choose from. The hazelnut milk chocolate is my fave. I appreciate their efforts regarding enslaved labor free chocolate. However their bars have way too much sugar.

  • So, Tony's Chocolonely – it's not just chocolate; it's a whole vibe! Tried their 32% milk chocolate, and OMG, taste buds on cloud nine! What's the deal? Well, these guys keep cocoa prices fair for farmers, and that makes every bite feel like a tasty act of kindness. And the wrapper game? Next level. You design it when you order – my wrapper was a party of colors, matching the joy inside the bar. Personalized chocolate? Yes, please! The shape is like a chocolate adventure – uneven squares that keep you guessing. It's quirky, and I'm here for it. Packaging? Simple and straight to the point. No fancy fuss, just the good stuff. Perfect match for their whole "chocolate with a purpose" vibe. In a world full of sweet temptations, Tony's Chocolonely is my go-to. Delicious chocolate, good feels, and making a positive impact – that's a win-win munch sesh!

  • Love the brand! Also cooked Peruvian food with it and was amazing

  • I bought them from Whole Foods and they’re so delicious. The flavors are unique and the chocolate has a rich texture. So good!

  • My family lives for Tony’s Chocoloney. I think it was like 3 years ago we got some for a Christmas stocking stuffer and now we buy it all the time. The classic milk chocolate bars do not last in our house for more than 1 day. We tried the variety pack and all of them were great. My dad asks me to pick up the dark chocolate bar for him every time I go to Whole Foods because he can’t find it anywhere near him. The toffee one is my fave. The white chocolate raspberry one had to be the most unexpected and fun one because of the pop rocks. I like the companies mission as well to show you how unfair the system of business can be. Of course we know this but the different cut shapes of the chocolate are a good reminder without being overly aggressive. The milk chocolate bar sells out constantly at my Whole Foods. Try these. Highly recommend.

  • Love the packaging and the brand message. Ingredients can be cleaner and have less sugar.
