Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel chocolate
  • Inventive, memorable flavor lineup
  • Chunky, satisfying bar format
  • Ethical, mission-driven sourcing
  • Overly sweet chocolate profiles
  • Thick, hard-to-break pieces
  • Inconsistent caramel texture hardness
  • Limited higher-cacao dark options

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

  • I thought Dove chocolate was my #1 until I found Tony's Chocoloney. This is some of the most delicious chocolate I've ever had, I am obsessed with the packaging and impressed by their mission.

  • I love the packaging and they're actually one of the best-tasting chocolate bars too! I was at first intrigued by the packaging because it reminded me of Willy Wonka/childhood memories. I gifted them to friends when I was traveling from the US to Korea and my friends loved them.

  • Love these chocolates! Perfect for snacking and baking!

    Feedback

Don’t love the different shapes that make it difficult to break off!

  • Lots of creative flavours and ingredient combinations which i love, but the actual chocolate bar format is a bit too thick and the shapes a bit too irregular to break off a good piece!

    Feedback

Would prefer a thinner bar, with more regular shapes so every piece is not massive or creates a big mess when trying to break pieces off.

  • Such a good value for great quality chocolate, and with an awesome mission. Every flavor bar I've gotten has been delicious.

    Feedback

The bars are hard to break off into small enough pieces because of the way it's cut.

  • SO. DANG. GOOD. I've had the caramel sea salt and milk chocolate - would LOVE to try the other flavors.

  • SOOOO delicious, I love the caramel toffee-ish one, I think it's in an orange package. Plus they have the best mission, slavery-free chocolate. A win-win.

No need for improvement - delicious, affordable, and good for the world.

  • I'm fortunate to live in Amsterdam where we've had the pleasure of devouring many flavors of this delicious chocolate for years. The caramel sea salt flavor is definitely worth the hype and some of my favorites are white raspberry popping candy and milk pecan crunch caramel.

  • Great tasting chocolate w interesting combinations. Plus the great retro looking packaging!

  • Okay—I hear you, it's a $6 chocolate bar. But it's worth every penny. I had a friend bring the Dark Almond Sea Salt bar to a park picnic once and I could not stop talking about this chocolate. As soon as it showed up in my grocery store checkout aisle, it was game over. Every time I had a bad day at work or when I was exhausted from taking care of my new puppy or was overthinking something someone said, I'd walk on down to that grocery store and pick up my Dark Almond Sea Salt bar. And wow, what a treat to fix any day. In fact, I'm salivating right now and about to order some online. Thanks for the reminder, ThingTesting!

  • Tony's chocolate bars are insanely good. The higher end chocolate bar space feels dominated by ultra-dark chocolate, which isn't for me. It's refreshing that a company with an ethical mission is putting out a high end milk chocolate. My favorite is the white raspberry popping candy bar. Insanely good.

  • The chocolate is definitely decent chocolate with some great and fun flavours. But more than the chocolate I just love their brand and packaging, and the fun partnerships they do with content creators.

  • I enjoyed the chocolate, most of it is tasty if not ready to become my favorite chocolate brand overall.

  • My roommate and I eat way too much of this - in a good way! Amazing production line as well.

  • tasty chocolate and glad whole foods carries a lot of options! cute and bright packaging.

  • Quality is on really good, giant size bar is fun, mission to end slavery on chocolate farms seals the deal.
