The Sill earns mixed reviews: the brand delights with chic pots, approachable education, and healthy arrivals for many buyers, but its plants can be inconsistent and customer service falters. Reviews cite attractive, well-packaged gifts and knowledgeable in-store staff, while weaknesses include overpriced offerings, occasional pest or damage issues, and plants that sometimes underperform or die.

I've used The Sill to send corporate gifts several times. The plants seem to be in good health and arrive in attractive containers, but the price seems quite high for the item being delivered. I would not use The Sill outside of a corporate setting, due to the lack of added value.
it’s easy to send minimal and nice plants with The Sill. Great size options and different price points. The packaging is well done to avoid major mishaps for the plants during shipping. UPDATED 2024: All of my plants from The Sill have died sad deaths, and I have a green thumb and very happy plants from local nurseries. Their pots are nice, but the plants are not.
Feedback
Seems like they’re always low on inventory and things are sold out. This is definitely a detractor from me wanting to buy again.
Many of the plants were pretty weak and/or infested with bugs. The planters look nice, but I would rather support local businesses. Customer service was helpful though with a broken planter.
Amazing. Every plant I bought from The Sill arrives healthy and are the best-looking plants in my house. The pots the plants come in are also really cute.

I love the selection of plants and the way they'll tell you if certain plants are "beginner friendly". The pots are also so chic!
I've gotten a few plants from the Sill over the years and they're all still alive and doing well. I've never had a problem with pests on any of the plants after I received them and they were all pretty good quality. The folks who work in their physical locations are pretty knowledgeable too. I'm always hesitant to get anything from them because of how expensive it is, so I usually stick to using them for gifts.

I found The Sill by searching for bereavement gifts other than flowers. I thought a plant would be good idea. I ordered the plant and then when it asked if billing address was the same as the shipping address, I said no. I then filled out the billing information. After I entered complete, it showed that they were going to ship it to the billing address. I quickly emailed and explained that they were supposed to ship it to a different address, and gave the address again. Emphasizing that this was a bereavement gift and I wanted to make sure it got there. I also gave my phone number and said call me if there is a problem. They emailed back the same day saying they were going to fix it. This was a Saturday. The following Thursday they emailed me and said that they didn't have the pot I wanted. REALLY??? 4 days to say we don't have that pot. So I picked another from what they offered. Guess what? Two days later they ask, what color. What the heck. How about the color I already picked, and why take another two days when you have my number and can call me. So now it's been a week and they still processed the order. Then they actually have the nerve to send another email, asking me to rate Rachel's service she has given. I gave it 1 star, just l Iike I am doing here. It's been almost 2 weeks and Guess what, yup they haven't shipped it yet. I just got a shipping number and they say the receiver has not gotten the package to ship yet. This outfit is a sorry excuse for an online business and should stick to local business only. Buyers beware. I wish I had done a little more research before spending 85 bucks with them.

The Sill got me into plants. I was a self-confessed plant killer, anytime I got a plant it died. The Sill made plant ownership easy and approachable: I learned about what plants were right for my home and how to take care of them. They are thriving now - if anything I need help understanding how to deal with huge plants now!

I sent mini succulents from The Sill to a group of my friends for their birthdays and had a great experience. The plants shipped in good condition and my friends all loved them! I really enjoyed The Sill's website because as someone who is not super well-versed in how to care for plants, I felt like there was a lot of information about each plant for sale and how to keep it alive. It seems like The Sill would be a great resource for plant aficionados and newbies alike.

One of the shipments was delayed and unfortunately arrived after my friend's birthday had passed. The Sill didn't notify me of the delay but once I sent an e-mail checking in they were very responsive and helpful.
