The Ordinary earns strong reviews for effective, ingredient-forward skincare that improves texture, hydration, acne, and glow—with standouts like Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, and the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Reviews also flag weaknesses: some formulas feel sticky, can pill or irritate sensitive skin, high actives may overwhelm newbies, results can be hit-or-miss, and product naming/usage can be confusing.

Honestly worth the hype. Where else can you find straightforward skincare products with transparent ingredients at actually affordable prices?? I've bought & used up the rose hip oil many many times over. It's the best at night to wake up hydrated & glowing. I've tried many products, but that's the one I keep coming back for. So many competitors have similar face oils for 6x the price, so imo why bother.
Rating: 4.5/5 Pros: Affordable Pricing: One of The Ordinary's most prominent advantages is its incredibly affordable pricing for skincare products containing active ingredients that are often found in much pricier alternatives. This makes effective skincare accessible to a wider range of consumers. Transparency in Formulations: The brand is renowned for its transparency regarding ingredients and formulations. Each product clearly lists its active ingredients and their concentrations, allowing consumers to make informed choices based on their skincare needs. Focused on Science: The Ordinary emphasizes a science-driven approach to skincare, focusing on ingredients that have been scientifically proven to be effective. This appeals to consumers seeking evidence-based solutions. Variety of Active Ingredients: The brand offers a diverse range of skincare ingredients, allowing customers to customize their routines to address specific concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, aging, and more. Minimalistic Packaging: The Ordinary's packaging is straightforward and minimalist, which contributes to keeping costs low. Additionally, the simple packaging design aligns with the brand's no-nonsense approach. Cons: Lack of Formulation Guidance: While transparency is a strength, some customers might find the wide array of products and concentrations overwhelming. The brand doesn't offer extensive guidance on how to combine products, potentially leading to confusion or incorrect usage. Texture and Experience: Some of The Ordinary's products might have textural issues or lack the elegant feel of more luxurious skincare brands. This can be a minor inconvenience for consumers who value sensorial experiences in their skincare routine. Incompatibility with Other Products: Given the brand's focus on potent active ingredients, some products might not be compatible with certain other skincare products. Users need to be cautious when incorporating The Ordinary products into their existing routines. Limited Branding and Marketing: The Ordinary's straightforward approach to branding might not resonate with consumers who are drawn to more aesthetically pleasing or emotionally resonant packaging and marketing. Final Thoughts: The Ordinary has revolutionized the skincare industry by offering high-quality, science-backed skincare products at affordable prices. Its transparency, focus on proven ingredients, and minimalist approach to packaging are admirable. However, the sheer variety of products might be daunting for beginners, and some individuals might miss the luxurious textures associated with higher-end brands. If you're willing to put in the effort to research and customize your skincare routine based on your specific needs, The Ordinary offers an excellent opportunity to access effective skincare solutions without breaking the bank. Just remember to approach the brand with a willingness to learn and experiment to find the best products for your skin.
The Ordinary is a skincare revelation. Their straightforward, affordable approach to potent ingredients is a game-changer. With no-frills packaging and a focus on proven formulations, it's a go-to for effective solutions without the hefty price tag. Perfect for skincare enthusiasts who value simplicity and results.
The serums are to die for. Same formula as the crazy expensive ones for so much more affordable. I swear by the niacinamide & hyaluronic acid!
I've used some of their products and helped me alot with maintaining my skin!
I have purchased several skin care items are the ordinary including the BHA serum and Nicinamide serum. But each of the products had been just okay. I did not see a significant change and I though the serums were too oily and did not absorb into my face well. I have friends that really liked the products so it could be that the items were just not for me , but given the price and accessibility that could be worth a try.
I love this brand especially love the price. My teenage daughter also loves it due to its price and swears it works just as well as the more expensive products. There is such a variety of available products and can be found at Ulta and Target where we frequently shop.
My friend first turned me on to the ordinary. As someone who is not a big skin care person, I was intimidated at first to check it out. But the website is super user friendly and even has an optional quiz you can take to help determine the best products for you. Their stuff is high quality and I love their mission. I have been getting so many compliments on my glowing skin! Highly recommend.
Such a great brand, everythings cheap and affordable and it works.

Their moisturizer is great to keep face healthy! Would recommend every time.
I use the Azelaic Acid Suspension cream and it has really helped reduce blemishes and skin texture. I use it every day!
the ordinary is just amazing, super affordable and worth it products, used their serum and moisturizer and my skin felt amazing, totally recommend it 100%
obviously the pricing is great but all the products i've bought, i haven't felt the need to repurchase them much. the Borage Seed Oil smells like duck fat so it's a really unpleasant/strange sensation putting it on. at first i much preferred the Marine Hyaluronics over the Hyaluronic Acid because of the texture and results but after a while i kept noticing it was pilling. i got the squalane cleanser for free from the shop but found it really drying and just didn't work for my skin.
Super minimalistic packaging for a high touch product, kinda wish there was a step to step guide on how to achieve skin and more directions with such specific products but otherwise amazing

Beautifully packaged with a luxury feel, yet affordable. Skincare benefits take time to truly see, but so far my skin is feeling good!
Finally some affordable skincare but I’ve been using it consistently and I’m not sure there’s any noticeable difference in my skin
Often times when I'm searching for a product to target a particular skin concern I turn to The Ordinary. I like that the ingredients are simple and at an affordable price. I've tried several of their products and I've always been impressed with the quality.

Good stuff works for my sensitive skin
The serums are of great value from this brand! It doesn't necessarily have the best texture, but for the price point, the products have overall exceeded my expectations.
I’ve used a few of these products in the past couple years and I can’t say they’re my favorite but they’re consistent and great for a budget! The glycolic acid has so many uses and for the price really can’t be beat.
