Starface reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • Playful, confidence-boosting branding
  • Clever, mirrored refillable compact
  • Cute, expressive patch designs
  • Gentle, non-irritating hydrocolloid
  • Inconsistent, weak patch adhesion
  • Limited extraction effectiveness
  • Small, one-size star patches
  • Awkward, curling star points

Starface wins praise in reviews for playful branding, a handy refillable compact, and making acne feel celebratory, yet its classic Hydro-Stars often underperform versus competitors at extracting “gunk,” reducing inflammation, or staying put—especially overnight. While some users see quick results (notably with Micro-Cloud or blue salicylic acid stars), many cite weak adhesion, small one-size patches, and limited efficacy on early or cystic blemishes, making the brand better for pick-prevention and daytime cover than potent treatment.

  • As someone who suffers the occasional stress pimple and someone whose work is client-facing, Starface's mission and overall branding concept is extremely appealing. Having encountered several friends using this product, I was excited to try it for myself. Unfortunately, I found the results to be subpar and minimal at best. Nevertheless, to give credit where credit is due, the packaging is great and these patches work insofar as a non-cosmetic concealer, allowing breakouts to heal more cleanly.

  • They don't stay on your face. Need I say more? The stars are cute and all but not worth the price. For those looking for a good and cheaper option, the klog's pimple patches are WAY better and they're six dollars.

Do not get this. I repeat do not get this, its a waste of time and money.

  • super cute way of covering acne. A bit pricy, but for most surface patch types I'd say it's worth it. The only downside is that the classic yellow patches tend to do nothing for me, but the blue patches and the micro-needle patches have worked great.

    - cute design - fashionable - a bit gimmicky

  • they're fun but I don't find them to be super useful, I wake up and my spot is still the same? they stick to my skin well if I apply before moisturiser which is handy for protecting larger spots in my sleep, help keep them from being irritated and becoming worse. they also have a subscription which was handy when I used them frequently. a tad pricy!

  • I was not impressed with the Starface patches. I didn't notice any improvement in the appearance of my pimples and the patches did not stick well to my skin compared to other brands. While the branding and designs are cute, I found the price to be quite high for the quality of the product. I wouldn't purchase these again.

  • the patches are just okay. i’m pretty sure they’re just hydrocolloid patches, so they don’t actually do anything for your pimples besides protect them; they dont reduce them

    Feedback

i wish the pimples had acne-fighting actives that could help reduce pimples and not just cover them

  • I’ve been buying these stat patches for a while. I’ve yet to try the medicated ones but am excited to get them next. But the standard ones are both cute and do what they’re supposed to. The hydrocolloid patches are only meant to remove moisture and cover. They do soak up moisture and prevent me from picking at my zits so I would call it a win!

    Feedback

I have on occasion gotten a point stuck to itself trying to peel it off but I’ve mostly figured out how to avoid that.

  • I tried their star patches and like them! They make you feel cute when acne can make you feel anything but cute. Didn’t work wonders in terms of extracting the gunk out of a pimple but did help me avoid touching it.

    Feedback

Could be a little stronger in terms of actually adhering to the pimple

  • It's cute i'll give it that, the product though is not worth the hassle. I bought a Christmas bundle and I was disappointed despite the deal. It just seems like it's a cute sticker that i put on my face nothing to help my acne or to write home about.

    Better packaging and product

  • While the stars and packaging are adorable, these didn't work as well as I would have hoped. Other pimple patches I've tried have worked a lot better for me but definitely aren't as cute!

    Feedback

They aren't very effective and could be a little bigger.

  • I wanted to love Starface since it's so cute but it fell short of expectations. The patches fall right off and the ones that stay on aren't really doing anything.

  • Cute packaging and fun to use but doesn't really do anything

    Feedback

The formulations... stickers don't do anything! And they don't stick on very well either, compared to other brands I've tried.

  • I love Starface however I feel like the patches do not work as well as other patches like Mightypatch. The look of the packaging is so cute and convenient and who doesn't love a pimple patch that is super cute.

    Feedback

I think the patches themselves are not as effective as other patches. I feel like they are not "soaking" up all of the pimple whereas when I use other brand names, they work to almost eliminate the pimple.

  • They’re cute but I don’t think they do what they say. I did not notice any difference with blemishes.

    Feedback

    Could do what they say.

  • Shape of the sticker patches make them hard to apply, and they’re very thin, but works as expected

    Feedback

    Bigger patches/ different sizes

  • I love the branding and quality. Their face wash is one of the few that has truly worked for me and the pimple patches are great.

  • Review is for the original patches. Cute packaging and I like the concept for their mission, but I didn't think these worked as well as other patches I've used (looking at you, Hero Cosmetics). Felt equivalent to okay drugstore brands - they probably helped but I've seen others that were notably better. Haven't repurchased.

    Feedback

Product performance (or design?) Hard to tell if it's 'worked' because you can't really see a before/after difference in the patch.

  • I've bought these once and would not purchase again

    Feedback

does not stick to your face or make a huge difference.

  • I wanted to love these. They are so cute and are a joy to put on your face. However, they just don’t work nearly as well as some of the other options out there. I find these useful to put on throughout the day if I don’t want to keep touching my face, but for actually absorbing the acne, these do a terrible job!
