Starface wins praise in reviews for playful branding, a handy refillable compact, and making acne feel celebratory, yet its classic Hydro-Stars often underperform versus competitors at extracting “gunk,” reducing inflammation, or staying put—especially overnight. While some users see quick results (notably with Micro-Cloud or blue salicylic acid stars), many cite weak adhesion, small one-size patches, and limited efficacy on early or cystic blemishes, making the brand better for pick-prevention and daytime cover than potent treatment.

I've used their pimple patches from their Stoney Clover Lane collab, and while they are definitely super cute, they unfortunately don't work as well as other pimple patch brands I've used. They aren't entirely ineffective but I can't always rely on them to clear up a pimple.
Super cute packaging, love that the hard case makes them easy to transport.

Should be a refill option so you don't have to buy a plastic hard case each time. The patches themselves don't really stay put at night, and I don't see the evidence of the gunk being pulled out with them like I do with other brands.
I love how they look, I also love the travel case and storage because all the other patches I have tried are difficult to store

They move around a lot and sometimes even fall off :(

The pimple patches don’t do much. Very unremarkable and don’t work. They are fun to peel off though so there is that.
I think the packaging and design is fun, but I don’t feel like the acne dots worked all that well. They’re hard to place because of the star shape and the surface area they cover is pretty minimal. They seemed to absorb some oil and gunk when used but I’ve tried other acne dots I like better.
Feedback
The acne stars could be bigger or even not star shaped with the star concept being incorporated elsewhere.
The patches look super cute but I don't feel like they do anything. You can find similar patches that might not look as cute but really get the job done. I was really underwhelmed with these
Feedback
I think the patches are just too thin to really hold on to the nasty stuff from blemishes.

super cute, but the patches dont work as well as other brands to remove whiteheads - i only wear them to conceal a breakout in public bc its cute and protects the breakout.

I used these patches for ages cus they're just so damn cute. Truly amazing branding, great customer service, and super-fun partnerships all the time.

At the end of the day — it's objectively not an effective zit sticker. It's just not. If I wanted a cute star sticker on my face, I'd just use a sticker. If you want an effective zit sticker, buy an effective zit sticker/hydrocolloid patch. Because starface stickers are very very very cute (I'm a sucker for a Sesame Street collab), but these ain't it. The star-shaped design makes it so you lose a lot of the real estate/coverage needed to actually be effective on a pimple/whitehead. They don't stick very well because the arms of the star sometimes fold in on each other. When you pull them off the adhesive backing, they sometimes get stretched out or lose their stickiness. And compared to most other leading zit stickers, they're wayyyy thinner, which makes it so they absorb way less than an actual hydrocolloid patch would. I bought a pack of Mighty Patch zit stickers from Target randomly when traveling and was blown away by how much more effective it was — actually worked on my zits overnight. I stopped using the starface patches immediately. Also, this is neither here nor there, but I tried to set up a subscription with them like 3 times and it never stuck.
They are really cute and come in an adorable container. However, because of the shape, they are hard to apply and don't really do much for my acne.

I think the products are cute but don't really do much for the skin. The regular patches are too small and buying the bigger ones are not worth it. Personally i think people only use it cause it looks nice.I say just get hydrocolloid patches from the pharmacy.

Oh, how I wanted to join the adorable star plastered cult. I bought the refillable compact immediately, not even fathoming how a pimple patch could disappoint me. I mean, at their core, they are a pimple patch, right? It was like sticking a dollar store sticker on a pimple. It did absolutely nothing. So I bought the blue ones with salicylic acid. And the black ones for good measure. The black ones do nothing, much like their yellow counterparts, and the blue ones are perhaps the biggest letdown. Salicylic acid, an ingredient well renowned for its ability to help breakouts, and yet somehow this pimple patch managed to do nothing but irritate my existing blemish even more. Another gripe is that the blue ones, for some odd reason, refuse to peel off of the back correctly. Instead of peeling the thin plastic away to reveal four stars on the stiffer plastic, I consistently have the stars peel off in reverse, meaning I have to grab the sticky part with my fingers or a tweezer. Which bends the point of the star, making it look weird, which defeats the purpose. I’ve resulted to using the rest of my stash that I foolishly bought thinking that they would be different than the original for blemishes that I’ve already had another pimple patch on previously, that are open and need covering when I go out in public. But hey, at the very least I can cut down the sheets of pimple patches that do work and put them in the compact. So, I guess I get some of my money’s worth.

I love the pimple patches, I breakout so easily and these help to take care of the spots. I recommend these if you have a surprise pimple!

I have tried using these many times, but always struggle with getting them to stay on.

Love this stuff! Prevents me from picking at my pimples and blemishes

These are the only pimple patches that actually stay on my face all night! I sleep in these and by the morning they have pulled out all of the gunk from my skin. Most pimple patches will fall off of my face within an hour, but these work wonders! The cute star shape is an added bonus :)

they’re cute and stick on well but too small to properly fit on bigger spots. good to coverup spots for school or work, but in my experience they haven’t worked very well for me.

Their customer service is like talking to a brick wall, delivery packaging is cute but a little excessive just the box sealed and a label would be plenty. Product is okay I wouldn’t say it makes a huge difference but they look cute. They stick on pretty well. The website is terrible I accidentally checked out as it auto signed me in with shop when I was trying to compare a bundle deal or a discount code I had. I won’t be returning again if I’m honest as a product I can’t say they really do that much besides stopping me pick at the spot. The box can be repurposed when empty so at least it doesn’t go to waste! The delivery is pretty fast but that’s as good as it gets!

Makes my pimples go away so quickly. I love this product and the design is so cute!

It honestly didn’t perform at all for me. I don’t get pimples often and they’re never too problematic, but even on those types of pimples Starface did not seem effective. However, Starface does have a cute brand and product aesthetic if that’s what you’re looking for.
