SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

I tried these at my local target when I was doing keto and these were actually really good. I enjoy the sour gummy ones! Great alternative!
Love that it is ow-sugar alternatives to usual candies people buy in stores. The gummy worms were delicious and I don't feel guilty for eating them like I do regular gummy worms. 4g of sugar what is not to love about them.

Gummy worms with less sugar. Will be buying again.

Tried the peach rings and liked it. It was quite tasty and I didn’t miss the less sugar.
These are pretty good if you’re on a calorie deficit trying to lose weight. They have a fake sugar after taste which is the only reason I would not rate these a 10/10. Smart Sweets does have a good variety of candy you can choose from which is also a plus.

I tried the peach rings because it had been a while since I had the conventional brand and said why not. Had high hopes but was bummed it didn’t meet expectations. It needs more of a peach flavor and sweetened just a bit more.
Great alternative

I was underwhelmed by these. For the price point I was expecting them to be an incredible swap for regular candy but they taste just as fake, if not more, than other sweets out there.
It's so hard to find low/no sugar candy that tastes great. Smart Sweets gummy bears, and peach rings satisfy my sweet tooth, without loading my diet with sugar. They taste delicious, without causing the digestive issues that some sugar free candy create. Indulgent, guilt-free treat.
Delicious while being low-sugar! Love their candy options and actually taste good!

I love the vegan varieties! Nostalgic candies like peach rings and cola gummies usually contain gelatin so I love being able to have these while eating a vegan diet. The bonus is the low-sugar content. I can't tell the difference in flavor from the full-sugar varieties. The only downside is they are REALLY sticky and stick to my teeth for a while.

I first saw these on TikTok and I knew I wanted to test them out. I soon went to Target to purchase them and they were super yummy. The peach rings are my go-too!
Okay, so these taste better than I expected them to, a little artificial but not terribly so. My main complaint is that they do have a lot of artificial sugar so if I eat a whole package (which of course I'm going to do) I get a stomach ache and pretty bad bloating.
Love having a low sugar option for that gummy candy craving! The texture is a little odd but the flavors are consistently great.
Unfortunately I was not a fan. I think I’m just one of those people that if I want something sweet, I’d rather just get the real, bad-for-you stuff.
These sweets are low in sugar. Not too sweet for me. I love the texture. I take them to work with me and I share them with everyone. They all love them.
amazing alternative!!

Love the brand and the packaging but I think they've changed their formula to something that just doesn't taste as real – the Sweet Fish taste more like stevia than anything else

Overall, these are fine sugar-free candy alternatives. The price is a little crazy for the amount you get. At my Whole Foods, the small bags are about 3x the price of a standard/regular bag of candy, and are the highest-priced "alternative" candy in the aisle. They do however get the job done. If you are watching your sugar intake, these candies will knock your sweet tooth out in a great way. From that perspective, I do appreciate having them around. It can be worth their cost if it means staying on track with my diet goals.
