SmartSweets earns positive reviews for genuinely tasty, low‑sugar takes on nostalgic gummies like Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, and Red Twists; it satisfies cravings and often avoids “fake” sweetener aftertaste. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: many candies are extremely sticky or tough, flavors can be inconsistent with occasional stevia/allulose aftertaste and GI upset, and portions feel small. Overall, SmartSweets is good if cutting sugar, but texture quirks and formula variability make it a compromise for purists.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
SmartSweets are a solid option if you’re trying to cut back on sugar but still want a candy fix. The concept is great — low sugar, high fiber, and way fewer calories than traditional gummies. The peach rings and sour blast buddies are probably my favorites in the lineup. That said, the texture can be hit or miss. Some flavors are a little too chewy or rubbery, and there’s definitely a bit of an aftertaste with the sweeteners. Also, for the size of the bag, the price feels a little steep — you don’t get much for what you pay. I’ll still grab them occasionally when I want a sweet snack without the sugar crash, but they’re not quite a perfect replacement for the real thing.
I tried these so many times to avoid the conventional brands, eat less sugar, and better ingredients but I don't like the texture or the flavor. I wish they were better.
Low Sugar Content: Many appreciate that SmartSweets offers candy with significantly less sugar compared to traditional options. Natural Ingredients: The use of natural sweeteners like allulose and fruit juices is a highlight for health-conscious consumers. Variety of Flavors: Popular choices include Peach Rings, Sweet Fish, and Sourmelon Bites.
The sour watermelon is an absolute favorite. Great flavor, and even better ingredients.
I gave these five stars because of the innovation behind these treats. I think it is wonderful that people care enough to produce something with less sugar. But, you must eat these with caution, and for me, I probably need to stop ordering them. I get a nasty email at work and go straight for the smart sweets. NOT GOOD. But, they are great if you have a militant little consumption monitor (ie, baby daughter) around that will hide them from you and keeps tabs on your food intake.

This sugar-free gummy is so good, and I could finish it in one sitting. Hardest part is resisting the urge to do so. I like to bring a pack to movie theatre where snacks tend to be high calorie and unhealthy.
SmartSweets offers a fantastic range of low-sugar takes on popular candies. I've tried several varieties, from the gummy bears to the sour candies, and I'm consistently impressed with how well they capture the familiar flavors and textures. While there might be a slight difference compared to the full-sugar versions.

So I like gummies and I also like not consuming so much sugar. This stuff was ok. It didn't blow me away, but it satisfies that itch. It's a good snack substitute in general vs typical candy. It's a bit pricey either way.
obvi not as good as normal candy but hits the spot when you have a craving. my fav or the gummy bears or any of the sour candies but overall pretty good. and so much healthier than anything else right now
Smart Sweets is a great healthier alternative to candy. They do come in a much smaller bag size so they are more pricier but I appreciate their healthier ingredient list. And they taste just like a normal candy and with the right chewy texture. I love their gummy worms and peach rings.
I was addicted to the limited time Barbie flavor that these had I love how they taste like candy and real Gummies, except they are healthier and actually have fiber in them, which is great. They are kid, friendly, and adult friendly

this candy is high quality, and very yummy! sour gummy bears are the best in my opinion.

Love the concept of SmartSweets. While a tad expensive, they taste amazing and help me curb any possible cravings I have for the traditional candies!
I really liked that these were a healthier version of an unhealthy snack. The varieties were vey good and the taste was great. I hope they come out with even more flavors and shapes to keep the kiddos happy.

I don't like these because of the acidity but I have a friend who enjoys them. They have a lot of fun options that seem rather similar to the candies that they are trying to mimic and I think they would be great for kids. Love that they are plant-based!
Cute tasty gummies. Lower sugar. Expensive

I tried the sweet fish. I think they taste really similar to Swedish fish. This would be a great replacement for someone who can't have much sugar, people trying to eat less sugar or even just kids. Texture and taste are right on.

Smart sweets are such a healthy alternative to the regular sweets that you see in gas stations and convenience stores that are loaded with sugar. They make for such a healthy snack when you want to crave candy
Although I don't think these actually taste quite identical to their popular high-sugar counterparts, I actually prefer some of them to the original! Plus, I don't get the same guilty feeling or sugar-high headache as I would if I ate the regular version!
These are addicting gummy candies that are not as sugary as other gummy candies.
