SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

Really good candies for someone wanting to watch their sugar intake! The peach rings and red fish are my favourite.
Feedback
The texture is a little bit chewy which I don’t mind at all!

It’s a healthier version sweet, which I love it doesn’t have all of the extra stuff like other candy has.
Feedback
I wish they had more in the bag honestly.

I love being able to indulge without feeling SO guilty. The Gummy Worms would have to be my favorite.
Feedback
I wish that for the price, there were bigger portions in the bags.

The peach rings are my absolute favourite, now I don’t have to feel as guilty when having sweets.

I have tried SmartSweets a handful of times because I so badly WANT to like it but ultimately, the texture gets me.... in a not great way. They are just too dense and chewy to feel like an adequate replacement to "real" gummies. And with such a jam packed ingredient statement, feel more comfortable sticking to the originals.

Love these and I’ve tried every kind! The watermelon slices, gummy worms and fish are my favourite! Definitely will satisfy your sweet craving in a healthier way!

More environmentally friendly packaging.

As a gummy candy expert, I had high hopes for these. Some of them like the peach rings, taste similar to the full-sugar products, while others of them are less enjoyable and just don't hit the spot or or have the same consistency when compared to "the real thing". More than anything I think that these products have very low value - high prices and small sizes (think twice the price for half the amount as a regular Sour Patch Kids or Swedish Fish sized candy) so I only opt for them if I'm really watching what I am eating but still want a sweet snack.

Not bad! I don't really have a sweet tooth but I can appreciate fun flavors and textures. Smart sweets really nailed the candy-alternative and made me feel like I was eating the "real thing".

Not sure if it was just the bag I tried but the candies were a bit on the hard side. Loved the flavor though!

Overall, the product is a perfect alternative for those that want to reduce their sugar intake and still get a little sweetness in their system. Also, a big flex is the fact that they don't include gelatin in a lot of their goods. The price point for the bags is one of the biggest drawbacks to the product as you have to really think if candy is worth between $3.50-$5 for a small pack. I’ve induldged in the peach rings and the sweet fish and both requires quite the chewdurance to finish just a few from the bag. This is both a pro and con as it makes you take time to consume them as you think about should you have another or not, limiting your overall sweet tooth. Sharing them with my kiddos, I found they weren't particularly fond of the chewdurance but enjoyed the taste of them.

Purchase with the intent that you will chew a little longer on them and that overall, that small bag may last you a few sweet tooth cravings.

I love these sweets! With only a few grams of sugar, it’s a way healthier option when you’re craving sweets but don’t want the extra cals and sugar. They’re actually really yummy and still taste like regular candy. Packaging is cute too!!
Feedback
I wish portions were a little larger and price was down a little.

I love Smart Sweets, specially the Swedish fish. It’s so convenient how many grocery stores and gas stations carry it so that I can easily find it. Smart Sweets are perfect for anyone looking for a lower sugar product.
Feedback
While the Smart Sweets are low in sugar, they’re still very high in carbohydrates for anyone trying to watch that.

I enjoy these on occasion but sometimes the taste can remind me of medicine! I think with slight alterations to the taste profile it could be a far better product.

The sour ones are very sour/tart, I wasn't crazy about them, but the other kinds were delicious.

Great flavours and beautiful branding! These are such a great treat for someone who pays attention to their sugar intake or those who are tracking their macros.

I'm a huge fan of sour gummy candy, but it doesn't make me feel great as I've gotten older. SmartSweets definitely hits the spot and cures my craving without upsetting my stomach afterwards. I especially like their red fish and sour varieties.

I've only purchased in retail, but the price point is way too high for me. It's tough to justify spending $3+ for a small bag of smartsweets vs. a larger bag of the non-"smart" competitor for $2 or the store brand private label for even less.

I love smart sweets! Specifically the sourmelon bites. So good and you don’t feel guilty for eating the whole bag!

Price point could be lowered slightly.
