Reviews mention

  • Vivid, nostalgic flavors
  • Lower‑sugar candy formulas
  • Convenient portion packs
  • Vegan, plant‑based options
  • Extremely sticky texture
  • Inconsistent chew quality
  • Notable sweetener aftertaste
  • Potential gi discomfort

SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

  • I like most of the flavors, but find that their products really stick to my teeth.

  • While they do not taste exactly like the treat they emulate, they are amazing. I can’t say more about it.

  • I absolutely adore this brand. I have a massive sweet tooth but have been trying to stay away from sugar. These fulfill my craving and are so tasty!

    Nothing!

  • 3.5 stars rounded up! the texture is chewy but can sometimes be too soft that it sticks to your teeth. top tier would be peach rings! sweet fish are good as well. i would pass on the cola gummies, they aren't quite right with taste and texture. pricey as well.

  • I LOVE SmartSweets. A great alternative to your traditional candy without compromising on taste. Not to mention the ADORABLE packaging and personal portion sizes.

    Feedback

Would love to see them expand their product line more!

  • I got these at Target because I love gummies but I hate the fact that other brands are packed with so much sugar. SmartSweets taste amazing and I love the serving size, not too much & not too little.

If you have a sweet tooth like me and you're watching your weight, these are for you.

  • Hit or miss but it can satisfy a sweet craving! Love the sour focused or peach rings.

    Feedback

There is a noticeable texture difference from the "original" sugar-filled candy, but the sour topping really helps.

  • For a very low sugar candy they are pretty good. I wouldn’t go as far to say it would completely replace candy for me but it is a nice change. It is a bit spendy for the amount in the package.

    Price point could be lower

  • I have had some of their products, and they are okay. Not that great and taste super processed.

    Feedback

While I love that they are a healthier alternative to candy and come in handy when on a diet, they are not something I would go for otherwise as they don't taste good.

  • Cute packaging but the gummies were very hard. Sort of missing something… not sure what though. Sugar probably? I do appreciate the alternative being present in the aisle. I liked Squish gummies better as a Haribo alternative.

  • Good flavors for a product that is semi-healthy. It's great that they copied snacks that are already on the market so you can enjoy some sweets and not feel like you're missing out. The best product is definitely the peach rings.

    Feedback

The initial flavor is great, but the artificial sweeteners leave an aftertaste.

  • I thought it was ok. I had the peach rings.Taste just isn’t the same and experience isn’t quite the same but I could see how this could be a good replacement for those who would want to have a low sugar version.

  • I wanted to like these! Even though they are comparable to other name brand candy, the texture is way off. I'm a texture person and couldn't eat more than one of these!

  • Love the taste and I don’t feel a sugar crash like you do with normal candy.

    Feedback

Too expensive and not enough product per bag. I would purchase this more if they actually considered putting a normal amount in each bag.

  • Love the commitment to sweets with less sugar. But they can be a little bit hard and not sweet enough to satisfy the craving. Would eat again, but they don’t replace other sweets

  • Not a huge fan. For what they are, they taste pretty good, but nothing beats the original candies they’re trying to replicate/replace.

  • I love Smart Sweets' guilt-free snack that satisfies candy cravings. The peach rings have always been my favorite flavor; subtle sweetness and chewy texture.

  • I love these because they help me with my sweet cravings, but have less sugar.
