  • Weak cleaning vibration

quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

  • Growing up with my mother being my dentist, I've formed a pretty strong opinion around oral hygiene. This is a good intro to electric toothbrushes, or a good option for travel. I prefer the more traditional electric models (sonicare, etc.) over this.

  • I used a Quip for many months, and overall found it to be an effective toothbrush. Key benefits are the compact and sleek design, long battery life, and relatively low price compared to some other electric toothbrushes. I still think the Quip would be great for travel, but stopped using it as my daily driver. The benefits offered by the motor are fairly modest - it adds a subtle vibration to the toothbrush, but it's not anywhere near as powerful as the mainstream models form Oral-B and Sonicare. You will still need to apply a conventional back and forth brushing motion for an effective clean, so the advantages over a conventional toothbrush are not great.

    Feedback

It would be great to see a more effective motor, though I suspect this would compromise battery life.

  • I enjoy using my Quip for the most part. Other than the stand that comes with the toothbrush being low quality, the toothbrush itself works well.

    Feedback

    The stand holds water.

  • My toothbrush head would come off every day. I did not enjoy that aspect. The head of the toothbrush was clean and did not properly adhere to the base. I did like the automatic renewals.

    Feedback

Attaching to the brush to the base needs to be improved.

  • Quip is a great example of a brand that focuses so much on visual design (product and branding) and packaging that their end user experience falls short. Purchasing and opening the package was a good experience, but the functionality and ergonomics of the toothbrush were unpleasant.

    Feedback

The design of the toothbrush itself is problematic. The thin cylindrical body of the toothbrush is void of shape and grip. Holding onto it with wet hands make it prone to slipping. Attempts to grab the toothbrush more firm results in some pain due to the hard mental handle. This product is not friendly to users with disabilities or chronic pain.

  • Good toothbrush and I like the timer on it. I don’t really use the app and the heads are a bit low quality. The toothpaste tastes great and is small enough to bring on your carryon!

    Feedback

Toothbrush heads don’t last long and the sticky part of the mirror mount gets unsticky quickly - I wish there was additional adhesive

  • Ever since I got a quip, I feel like brushing my teeth is less mundane. I like the sleek look and the 30 second interval timer that other brushes don’t have

    Feedback

Finicky product after a few years or so. In my 5.5 years of having one, I’ve needed one replacement which was easy to get

  • I mean, it’s a toothbrush/toothpaste subscription. It is what it is.

    Feedback

Supply chain issues - deliveries haven’t always been on time.

  • Super easy to get online refills and really easy website to use

    Feedback

Did not like that I have to purchase the brand’s toothpaste when I was refilling the brushes

  • I used to swear by Quip, but in the end, it’s mostly just a vibrating toothbrush. It helps you remember how long to brush, has a sleek look, and does help some, but it’s not that far above a manual brush in my opinion. I do love the design.

    Feedback

I feel like the brush heads get gross a little faster than other toothbrushes for some reason. I’m guessing it’s the bristles. I’ve used quip for years but recently gave up because of how much of a pain it became to spend a bunch for a head replacement that isn’t really anything special.

  • Overpriced vibrating toothbrush. Only difference from non-electric toothbrush is that the vibration allows you to time how long you are brushing, but the actual vibration adds no additional cleaning benefit in my experience. Good battery life. Easy to travel with.

    Rotating brush head.

  • It's okay... overpriced

    Feedback

    Customer service is difficult

  • Decent toothbrush. Gets the job done- very practical

    Feedback

    Stronger vibration

  • The subscription was great, but overall the cleaning was pretty poor. My dentist had to recommend I switch because it wasn’t effective. After I switched to a different brand, I had significant improvement in dental health.

    Feedback

The strength of the cleaning has much to be desired. It was overpriced for the level of power.

  • Have had multiple quips throughout the year. I like it but definitely not the best. The electric part stopped working after a few months making it just a regular tooth brush

  • Decent brush, but the head falls off with too much pressure. Super convenient considering the size and the automatic refill plans. Only suggestion from my dentist was to apply a bit more pressure.

    Feedback

Strength/Speed of vibration and brush head.

  • Ended up getting a Quip toothbrush as a last minute replacement for my Sonicare while traveling. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I love it. While the bristles are soft, the added silicone bristles make for a super thorough clean. The included toothbrush holder is an added bonus.

    Feedback

My only complaint is that the 'Q' button is placed in a spot that makes it a little challenging to push.

  • I got this toothbrush as my first motorized toothbrush. After comparing this to other motorized toothbrushes, I don't believe it gives the same cleanliness as others. The appeal is there as it is very aesthetically pleasing and the brush heads are very affordable. I like the convenience of setting up a subscription to receive new brush heads. Overall, I don't think I would rave about it to anyone.

    Additional brush head options.

  • I really liked this toothbrush, I used it for quite a while. The only thing is that I bought an all black toothbrush and after needing to change the toothbrush head, they no longer carried the black toothbrush head I originally bought from Quip. That was disappointing but overall good brush.

  • I love love love their toothpaste. I have a subscription for both a big tube and travel. Orange juice doesn’t taste disgusting after brushing my teeth.
