  • Sleek, minimalist design
  • Compact, travel-friendly form
  • Timed, guided brushing pulses
  • Convenient refill subscription
  • Weak cleaning vibration
  • Fragile head connection
  • Hard-to-remove battery parts
  • Bristles wear or feel harsh

quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

  • I've had to have 4 different toothbrushes due to malfunction of the toothbrush. Slow customer support, slow shipping, extremely wasteful shipment packaging. Loved the look and feel and intention of this brand— is not executed well.

  • I bought a Quip because i knew i wasn't brushing long enough, and the timer function has solved this. My teeth 100% feel cleaner when I brush with my Quip. I also know that most people aren't replacing their toothbrush as often as they should, so I appreciate that Quip sends new heads every 3 months. It makes a world of difference and oral health cannot be overstated. The blood that flows through your mouth proceeds to flow through your brain, that's why there's such a significant connection between oral hygiene and overall health, specifically brain/mental health.

There's nothing really wrong with Quip's services, but I kind of begrudge how much they try to rope you into their ecosystem.

  • I really loved this toothbrush - I think it works great, has a great design, and tends not to get crusty and gross like other electric toothbrushes I've used. However, mine stopped working after about 15 months, and I was told that their warranty is only for a year or if you have an active subscription. Just a bummer because I don't want to buy an electric product every year that's just going to end up in a landfill, and it feels like Quip is using planned obsolescence.

The product should be longer-lasting, and they should stand by their products and be willing to replace them when they break.

  • I loved receiving my 1st Quip toothbrush and was originally really excited about the product. It was definitely a game changer for dental care - a sleek, trendy new toothbrush that prompted the OG brands to develop competing products. I like the packaging, the branding and the product style. I love the subscription of new brush heads - the ease and automatic delivery ensures you are replacing your brush heads and keeping things clean! Initially my Quip made the self-care-chore of toothbrushing more exciting. However, after using it for some time, I felt like the actual quality of the product for what is intended to do - clean your teeth - was lacking. It's not quite an electric toothbrush, not quite a manual. I never felt like my teeth were *completely* well cleaned. The bristles are almost too simple and the electric motion is not quite strong enough. I switched back to a Philips Sonic care brush after some time and left my Quip in my toiletry bag for travel only. That said it's still a sleek, attractive cordless toothbrush that's at least better than most simple manual brushes.

The battery lasts longer than 3 months (at least it did in my case, tho I've seen reviews saying the opposite) so you really don't need a new one in every shipment, seems unsustainable - would be better if they provided a return mail slip to be sure the batteries were properly disposed of. The holder tube gets pretty dirty over time, understandably - but seems there's a better design to avoid this (silicone perhaps, with more holes for drainage?). The electric mechanism doesn't seem that powerful and the bristles don't seem designed to clean between teeth all that well. Maybe test new brush styles?

  • Love it. Love the toothpaste and the toothbrush.

  • TLDR: if you want a toothbrush to change your life, this isn’t the one. Check it out, I’ve been on a Quip plan since 2017, and honestly it’s been fine. Would I do it again? 100% no. My refills are $5 every 3 months for a new head and battery, $20/yr to not have to think about buying a new toothbrush or buying refills is worth it to me. I see now that the plan is double that and lol forget it. Pros: The brush is compact, feels nice in the hand. Vibration timer always keeps me brushing 2 mins and segmenting my mouth into 4 brushing zones. Tips were helpful in proper brush angle, brushing pressure. The travel case is simple and always packs well. The adhesive has continued to work flawlessly after years of removing it and sticking it to different walls. I’m on brush 3 since 2017, and customer service has replaced the brush without any headaches. Cons: upgraded to the Bluetooth motor with the app for fun, and it’s so not worth it lmao just don’t do it unless you really like data i guess. I don’t wanna get into all that. Idk I can’t really think of anything else. Sure you can’t stand it up because it’s rounded on the bottom but I always just put it back in the holster (lol) anyway so that’s never been an issue. Who cares just get a big fancy one that spins and does a bunch of tricks in your mouth. It’s a toothbrush and I don’t want to think about my toothbrush. Quip works, I’m grandfathered in to the old price, and it’s worth it for now.

Bluetooth motor is a waste of money and a joke and the current refill pricing structure is way too much for what it is.

  • I like the toothbrush but it isn't as strong as other brands. I've also had issues with their floss pick. It doesn't keep the floss in the pick when flossing molars. App is slow and doesn't work well. But appreciate the cheap refills.

Send a reminder BEFORE the subscription ships. Also improve your floss pick design. AND IMPROVE THE APP

  • Overpriced toothbrush. Vibration does a poor job cleaning compared to sonicare. Looks cute but that’s about it.

  • I have a quip-- use it everyday. For the most part, it works as advertised. it's just a sleek lil electric toothbrush. It feels well made in hand, however I am currently on my 2nd one, as the motor or something stopped working about a year into my first. Dried toothpaste was getting into the body where the brush attached to the metal body somehow, and clogging it up, but I was cleaning it where I could, but even after replacing battery it just ended up not working eventually. I am on my 2nd one, and it is still going. That aside I do like it quite a bit.

Just build quality, to avoid liquid/toothpaste from getting into the body w/the battery.

  • It's just a great product. Simple, not too many choices (but enough to feel like you get some customization), and auto-ship replacements so you don't have to keep track of when to switch out your toothbrush. They even send replacement batteries when they know you're about to need them! I love that they've switched to more eco-friendly packaging (paper tube for replacement heads, reusable zip-lock bag for shipping container.

    Feedback

They used to have fun little recommendations for what to do with your old toothbrush head. I've always just pitched mine because it's awfully hard to use without a handle. I wonder if they'd consider making a handle that could hold the old heads to use for cleaning projects... I am always in need of a toothbrush to get in the nooks and crannies of something I'm scrubbing! I'd love it if they sold replacement covers bc mine got covered in fuzz while traveling and won't stick to my mirror anymore.

  • I liked the products and automotive shipping but I bought three toothbrushes and one stopped working within a month or so. When I emailed the company they asked for all these pictures and proof, I felt like that was a lot to do for a broken toothbrush.

    Feedback

I just think the company needs to be more proactive about helping customers and replacing items.

  • Why not use bamboo? These just end up in the trash after a few months.

    Feedback

    Use more sustainable materials.

  • I have been a quip user for several years. I love the ease of automated shipping for such an essential product. I have found their customer service to be quite helpful over the years whether with changing my address on the account or helping to replace the toothbrush due to wear and tear.

    Feedback

their shipping time can be quite slow. However this has not impacted my experience

  • I used Quip for awhile - at least a year - and just started to have some issues with it. First, I wanted to receive the refills more quickly because it would run out of battery and the brush head would get destroyed WELL before the 3 month time frame that they give for new brush heads. I also just didn’t have a great experience with their customer support. It took so long to hear back from them and then it wasn’t very helpful. The one great quality is the sticker that keeps the toothbrush applied to the mirror.

    Feedback

Customer service and offering more frequent refills.

  • The ease of getting new heads made it great but the motor broke on mine after about two years. When I was doing the steps to send it in for a replacement I realize how it's not that great of an electric toothbrush so I switched.

  • The toothbrush looks great, but unfortunately it's not much of a step up from a regular toothbrush. My teeth didn't feel any cleaner, and I didn't feel it was worth the investment. I've since upgraded to a better electric toothbrush and it's made a world of difference.

    Feedback

Right now, this feels like nothing more than a vibrating toothbrush that looks great on your counter. It needs more power to better clean your teeth.

  • I have been using Quip for at least 5 years. For me it has been worth it for the sake of consistently having a new brush head every 3 mo. The timer is nice. But I can't actually say I feel like it does a great job cleaning my teeth. It's been nice to see their packaging evolve to be more sustainable over time as well. I like that the brush has a bit of heft to it while keeping a comfortable slim profile.

    Feedback

Would love a different shaped brush head option or update to the design to improve functionality.

  • Convenient idea. I enjoyed getting something in the mail every month and knowing I have a clean toothbrush. The product itself wasn't worth it though because it's battery operated.

    Feedback

A rechargeable toothbrush option would be cool and maybe a mini toothbrush to clean it haha

  • Cute aesthetic but practically really hard to replace battery and the only way to tell the battery was less power on the vibration.

    Feedback

Easier battery replacement and stronger vibration and battery level checked.

  • Great toothbrush, love the look and feel. It stopped working after about a year but they quickly replaced it.
