quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
I have the subscription and use the products (brush and toothpaste) everyday but I feel like they’re very basic and not super exciting. Cost effective and minimal, it meets need but does not exceed expectations.
Feedback
I’m not sure.
Good toothbrush, gets the job done
Feedback
needs a stronger pulse and an easier way to put in the batteries

Toothbrush itself is low quality, it’s not even an electric toothbrush, it just vibrates as a timer and does not effectively clean.
Feedback
Brush head needs to actually move.
I absolutely love their packaging but that's about it. It didn't do a great job and the vibration was more on the handle than the toothbrush head. Disappointed.

Improve the toothbrush design and reduce the price!

Great concept and good product. I really, really appreciate that they send you a new toothbrush head and battery when it's time to change them!
Feedback
The toothbrush itself could prob be a lil more intense/hygene friendly. My dentist is not a fan.
I have had two toothbrushes and tried a few of their other products. The first toothbrush's motor went out after about 2 years which is why I bought a new one. The subscription is a bit difficult to navigate and I have accidentally created multiple subscriptions for items.
Feedback
Better subscription management, email ahead of shipment to give time for review.
Great battery life. I’m blown away by the sticky substance on the back of the case- it continues to hold up even when traveling with it and applying it to new surfaces.
Feedback
I’ve had some issues with it getting gunk inside the battery encasing, making it very hard to pop up the button that seals the battery cage. I’ve not reached out for CS help yet.
I had a quip toothbrush for a few years. It was very compact and easy to travel with. I hadn't tried the toothpaste or any other products but their customer service was great the two times I had issues with my toothbrush over four years of use.
Feedback
More compact travel case
I gave this a try for over a year, but was disappointed after a couple of months. The way to change brush heads is by snapping the neck of the toothbrush, and mine broke after my first change and would constantly come undone when I would brush my teeth using the vibration. I reached out to customer service and they basically said it was user error and to watch one of their videos. Basically just an overpriced manual toothbrush.
I got one of these because my dentist told me I should use an electric toothbrush and this one didn't break the bank. I will say that the electric isn't that strong at all, and I find after using it for 2 ish months, it has gotten weaker. It's nothing very special. I will say that I do like the compactness compared to other toothbrushes.

Make it rechargeable or an easy way to replace the battery so it can be more powerful
high quality toothbrush. i had one for about 5 years before i had to replace it. great customer service, i love that i can get a new brush head and battery delivered every few months
Just ok as a powered toothbrush. Similar priced products that work closer to the professional brands. Travel case doesn’t allow the brush to dry out and can grow mold.
I love the idea of quip, and I've always been curious after hearing every single podcast talk about them forever. I have the toothbrush, reusable flosser, and gum. I will say that I do not chew nearly enough gum for the subscription rate, but I use the flosser and toothbrush regularly.
Feedback
The reusable flosser is a little too finicky to use and I frequently lose the floss while using it.
It’s just fine to be honest. The aluminum tooth brush is made from a good material and their customer service is also good, but we had problems with the motor on the tooth brush randomly turning on and a subscription for your tooth brush just seems like too much. You change your booth brush out more like we should be doing, but we don’t need another subscription in our life.
Feedback
Better quality control on the motors and the brush heads. The motors can just randomly turn on and the brush heads don’t always fit well in the base.
Easy to transport, nice to have new heads sent
Feedback
My dentist said theyre not great at truly cleaning like other electric brushes and I noticed this as well
I love the look and feel of these toothbrushes, there isn't something like it elsewhere on the market. Makes your bathroom sink feel elevated!
Feedback
Unfortunately my quip toothbrush broke after 8+ months of use - water seeped into the battery cartridge and would no longer turn on.

Overall, Quip was a pretty disappointing product. It's marketed as an "electric toothbrush" with electric pulses, but in reality, it's basically a prettier regular toothbrush. It is both expensive without the benefits that a true electric toothbrush gives you (like the Oral-B ones), and the heads wore down very quickly. The only things going in its favor are that you replace just the heads, not the entire toothbrush like you would with normal toothbrushes so cuts down on a little waste, but overall, would not recommend.
I wanted to love this toothbrush but it was a disappointment. I bought one and it only lasted maybe one or two brushings before it just stopped working completely. Customer service was not very helpful in addressing my issue and I went back to my tried and trusted electric toothbrush. The only cool thing from this product is the branding and packaging design, which I appreciate as a designer.

Better product functionality and customer service.
This review is coming from a Dental Professionals Standpoint. This toothbrush is essentially a glorified manual toothbrush. I found no benefit to using this and know there is better products on the market for electronic toothbrushes. I would only recommend this for children as a entryway to using a electronic toothbrush. I do think the automatic shipment of new brush heads every three months to be useful to consumers.

Lack of power Not effective at removing plaque
Used this product for a few months until my brush stopped working. When I contacted customer support they sent me confusing trouble shooting instructions and refused to send a new tooth brush. It was very strange.
