Reviews mention

  • Playful, eye-catching packaging design
  • Clean, gluten-free ingredient list
  • Distinct, nostalgic coffee-chocolate flavor
  • Consistently crisp, satisfying crunch
  • Subtle, underpowered flavor profiles
  • Quick-staling, fragile texture
  • Low-protein, low-fiber satiety
  • Occasional bitter coffee notes

OffLimits earns mixed reviews: the brand delights with fun packaging, clean gluten‑free/plant‑based ingredients, satisfying crunch, and inventive flavors like Dash (coffee/chocolate) and Pandan, but many reviews report subdued or bland flavor, quick staling, and low satiety. Reviews of OffLimits also flag inconsistent coffee intensity—ranging from cocoa‑puff nostalgia to barely-there or bitter—and note that while it works as a tasty, not‑too‑sweet treat and makes flavorful cereal milk, several buyers would not repurchase due to underwhelming taste and small, less filling boxes.

  • I'm really glad OffLimits participated in a Thingdrop as I'd been curious about their products for a while! I tried the Dash flavor, and I like it a lot! Upon looking through the other Thingtesting reviews, I see where people are coming from when they say that it's not powerful enough of a flavor, but I disagree. I think that the flavor is perfectly balanced for a breakfast cereal and while the coffee flavor is subtle, it still comes through. I loved how it flavored the cereal milk too, and I'm definitely going to try making some cereal milk ice cream from it at some point.

  • great packaging (both shipping and inner box) but very disappointed in the cereal. not enough coffee flavor as advertised; way too sticky-sweet (should’ve read the nutrition label).

work on cereal flavor formulation! make with less sugar please!

  • I was so excited to try the Dash flavor in collaboration with Chamberlain Coffee, but found myself disappointed after my first few bites. In the box, the cereal smells pretty strongly of coffee in my opinion, but it doesn't taste like it at all. The cereal had a faintly sweet, ambiguous flavor that wasn't offensive by any means, but also didn't really do anything for me. I do think the packaging is super cute and loved the coloring page on the back of the box!

  • Really yummy and gluten free! I liked all the flavors - even the ones that I was a bit skeptical about like the ones with spirulina and turmeric. Flavor is subtle, not too over-powering or sweet. The packaging and branding also have a really cool look and feel.

I'd suggest is that people keep their open boxes in the fridge to keep the product fresh for longer (I do this anyways to all my gluten-free stuff bc I've noticed it helps keep longer). Although the flavors are great, the recipe could really use a bit more fiber + protein. Not filling at all. You could eat the whole box!

  • Eh… not for me. Was given out at a photoshoot. It contained pandan which I guess is suppose to chill you out. It definitely did because I ended up sitting around and eating the whole box.

  • I generally eat gluten free, dairy free, and sugar free for my health. This is such a joy! Not only are the boxes adorable, but the product is yummy. I liked the cinnamon and strawberry the best. I wasn’t a fan of the vanilla type one, but I ate it dry. Excited to try it with almond milk as I think it would be better!

  • I found the coffee cereal to be a little chalky and stale, but the coffee taste is spot on. I love they’re packaging and design and was excited to see some of their products in Target. I’m rooting for them and will try their other products.

Sweeter and fresher taste needed. Why not have a resealable plastic bag, like a ziploc, in there?

  • I had the Chamberlain Coffee cereal and it was pretty good. It was definitely a good treat to satisfy a sweet craving, without being too unhealthy. I also liked that it had a little caffeine in it. I thought that was very innovative and made it perfect for an afternoon pick me up without overloading on caffeine.

  • Honestly barely tastes like coffee, more like stale cocopuffs without the fun.

  • I don't normally like cereal but thought I would give it a try because of the flavor. You can definitely tell that it's healthy, it has THAT taste, but I think people who like cereal wouldn't be bothered by it.

  • The cereal by itself isn't something that you can pop into your mouth by itself (lacking in strength of flavor for that), but is tasty enough in milk.

Doesn't have too much of a coffee flavor or impart too much flavor into milk (oat milk was used).

  • I think this cereal tastes great and I like the clean ingredients! For me personally the price is a bit expensive to be something I would regularly purchase, but it is a nice treat!

  • It's a fun brand/packaging. What drew me to it was the Chamberlain Coffee collab and the cereal really delivers on coffee flavor! I ate it with milk and the coffee-y chocolateyness definitely seeped into the milk and it was really good.

This is a good cereal, but the price point is a little much for this size.

  • This is one of my favorite female owned brands of the moment. A lot of the negative comments I read on here state that they wish this cereal had protein added. This isn't a functional cereal. NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE A FUNCTIONAL FOOD ITEM. This brand is trying to give us the nostalgia of Kellog's era cereal without the chemicals and other crap. It's delicious and made with high quality ingredients. It's a treat but it's still cereal. Not everything now has to be keto, filled with protein, adaptogens, l-theanine, MCT oil etc. THIS IS JUST VERY GOOD CEREAL.

  • best cereal ever i love this so much, i just wish it was less expensive!

  • I’m OBSESSED with their pandan cereal. Pandan is one of my favorite flavors. It tastes so so so good. It’s unfortunately very expensive so I only buy it when it’s on sale.

  • I thought it was delicious & loved the packaging. I am not a huge cereal fan so the balanced sweetness with crunch was a huge plus. For the price point, I am not likely to purchase again since $8 is too much for someone who only eats cereal as a topper for yogurt.

  • I had the chamberlain coffee flavor and found the cereal to be quite nice. It's crunchy and light with a punchy coffee flavor. I liked that it wasn't overly sweet and you could taste some of the bitterness that coffee is supposed to have. Enjoyed it as a snack mostly. It does get stale quickly and I found the texture to be off putting once it does.
