Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

Gold standard of alternative milks -- froths well, always delicious, and is my go to for lattes and caffe au laits! Writing on the packaging is usually chuckle-worthy too.

Nothing! Love it.

Who doesn't love Oatly? It's the gold standard of oat milks (if you can't access Pacific Foods oat milk!) and the barista edition now being available in stores is perfect for those elevated breakfast moments.
Tastes super good but it is a real shame that there is so many ingredients and the majority of them are completely deprived of good nutrients.

I love it, I buy it, I drink it- far superior to rice milk, soy milk, almond milk. rich and thick and great in cereals and coffees
A good oatmilk, it works really well in hot cereals and drinks.

The superbowl ad was not my favorite.

So creamy and delicious- I think it’s creamier than dairy milk!

Could do without the gums and thickening agents

Taste: amazing. This is probably one of my fav milk alternatives. But.... Since i've read that "Oatly has about the same blood sugar impact as a Coke and about the same amount of oil per serving as french fries" every time I get a latte from a coffee shop and they use Oatly my body aches :S I am now looking more into brands that are just oats and water in the ingredient list.

Remove all the unnecessary ingredients and find cleaner substitutes.

My favourite oat milk brand by far. Super tasty, really creamy and not full of sugar like others on the market. We have a coffee machine at home and the Barista version froths really well!

I go through several cartons a week, and I'm not sure how sustainable the packaging is. I know it's Tetra Pak, but I've heard mixed things about how readily recycled it is.
Such a great alternative to milk, especially in drinks like espresso beverages (lattes, cappuccinos, etc) that require a nice heavy mouth feel. As someone who is dairy-averse Oatly is a great a substantial substitute.
Feedback
Improve distribution as it's often hard to find in stores.

I first discovered Oatly while I was living in London, and I loved it so much that I would go to the Sainsbury's beneath my office, pick up a carton, and keep it in the office fridge, despite the fact that we already had oat milk provided! I love it that much!

It's pretty frustrating that they are always sold out online for the 1L Barista edition 6-pack. I don't like opening more than 1L at a time because I don't want it to go bad and I don't use it that often. If I don't finish a 1L, I don't feel as bad.

I'm a big regular milk drinker but wanted to find a way to cut down on my dairy intake. I tried using Oatly in my breakfast tea but it had a distinct taste that altered the flavour too much for my liking. However, with cereal and coffee, especially lattes, Oatly worked wonderfully well and tasted great. I'll definitely continue using this brand.
This was absolutely groundbreaking when I first tried it. Almond milk never did it for me, and oat milk is AWESOME. Design is very fun and quirky, draws you in.

Wish there wasn't added sugar, would prefer cleaner ingredients! (Have since tried out other brands for this reason.) Also somewhat watery compared to other brands I've tried.
High quality Oat milk, great for cappuccinos. They were one of the first on the market and i loved them until they sold their soul to Blackstone. Does not fit the brands values and communication at all... You can find many more Oatmilk competitors now, who deserves more our money.
I switched to Oatmilk in 2020 and Oatly is consistently the best option for taste and functionality when it comes to coffee.

I found an Oatmilk overseas with prebiotics and I like this extra health benefit alongside its great taste.
100% a go-to milk alternative but I think grocery store brands just haven't been as good with making competitors so it might just be that the market is in their favor.

Too $$$ and I wish the chocolate flavor (or strawberry, etc.) would be more accessible and in smaller to-go packaging.
Best alternative to dairy milk that's widely available both in coffee shops and supermarkets (and is relatively better for the planet than other dairy alternatives like soy and almond milk).

Quite high in sugar (just because something is vegan doesn't automatically make it healthier!)
I’ve tried all the oat milk I can find. This just tasted the creamiest. I like the full fat version.
Feedback
Less sugar, it does have more than you’d expect. Also the company took money from some investment firms associated with the trump campaign. Oatly said they’d rather some of that money go to their cause which I can understand.

Love this oat milk! It’s so creamy and taste so good with my Nespresso. I also love that it’s so versatile, you can use as your creamer or give your coffee a bit of a body/thickness. I go through 2-3 boxes a month, that’s how much I enjoy this!

I like the taste of the standard barista oat milk but I wish it didn’t have rapeseed oil in it because it is hard for me to digest. I like that it is glyphosate free too. I prefer the Chilled Oatmilk Super Basic because it has less ingredients which I like in an oatmilk.

Best oat milk out there. I’ve had some bother my stomach - some sort of additive I think. But not Oatly. Love the thickness in my lattes.
