Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
Amazing taste and good consistency
Feedback
Wish they didn’t use canola oil and less sugar
I liked it as it goes well with both tea and coffee, and foams well too.
Feedback
Consider not using rapeseed oil and refined sugar.

I really want to like Oatly but because of palm oil they are not a sustainable brand. It’s great oat milk but I would prefer to buy a more eco-friendly sustainable brand. Maybe if they change their recipe there will be room for them to move up in my eyes!
Feedback
No palm oil. More sustainable practices.
Personally feel that their oatmilk is overrated + filled with stuff you would never recognize and is not good for you.
Feedback
Simplify ingredients, remove the darn sugars and gums!
Delicious and great for mixing into coffee and smooths. Has a rich nutty flavour!
Feedback
I think there doing great, I'd like to see more flavoured versions.
I tried the Oatly barista and normal oat milk. I would say taste wise it’s amazing and it works really well with a milk frother as well. The only issue I have with it would be the ingredients. There are a lot of unnecessary additives in it like gums and oils that I think can cause inflammation and bloating. Other than that, I recommend, especially if you’re not sensitive to things like that!

Website and shipment was all pretty smooth and easy. I would suggest making the packaging thicker because since it is made of paper, if left too long to condense after being cold, it gets a little soft and soggy.
Was so excited when this came on the market. Probably the most similar texture to milk but does contain harmful ingredients.
Feedback
Remove the bad stuff and be the best brand with people in mind.
I really don’t love the taste. If you’re a big oat milk person, I think you would find it to be a good option, but I prefer other brands I have tried or different milk alternatives.
Best oat milk on the market IMO... Not a controversial or new opinion but the girls at Oatly have really got the texture right.
Feedback
Great marketing strategy... sometimes it feels like one cannot escape their ads on benches and buses etc
I go for oatly when I need a reliable vegan or dairy-free alternative and rarely disappoints. Love iKaffe, vanilla cream and normal cream, they are top tier!
Feedback
Some of oatly's decisions are contradictive to their statement of being carbon neutral and caring of nature and come off as insincere, decreasing trust.
Tastes better than milk
Really tasty oatmilk, great for morning coffee
Feedback
Just a tad expensive!
To much added stuff! I prefer plain and simple oat milk! Texture is nice for latte.
A good oat milk in terms of texture and flavor, especially for coffee.
Feedback
I prefer a milk alternative that has fewer fillers and preservatives even if the texture suffers a bit.
This is part of my routine now. A very good brand since I love oat milk. It makes me feel healthier! ☕️
I love this oat milk so much I bought stock in it lol. Oatly has been a classic in my fridge for quite some time and I really love the texture / taste of it.

I LOVE oatly!! Their oat milk is a great consistency and taste.

They sell out quickly, so it could be hard to find.
Super tasty and especially love the barista blend.

Less additives would be nice.
