  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel
  • Reliable, barista-grade frothing
  • Smooth, neutral oat flavor
  • Versatile, beverage performance
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Seed oil, rapeseed inclusion
  • Occasional digestive discomfort
  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • Oatly products taste great and the marketing is really fun and makes me love the brand even more. I use the oat milk daily in my lattes, add to coffee and tea, and sometimes even drink on its own. The product has one of the best textures of oat milk on the market.

    Feedback

My main complaint with Oatly oat milk is the sugar content and various ingredients other than oats. I’d love to see Oatly produce low to no sugar options as well as “clean” products, even if they’re not as shelf stable.

  • Solid choice for an oat beverage. I didn't have it cold since I used it as a barista but it's really a solid choice for anyone who hasn't tried alternative milk-emulating beverages before.

Offering a bigger size container would be cool. Also, the shape of the container isn't very conducive to stacking well so I wish it was shaped more like a regular milk carton.

  • Love Oatly, especially the creamer barista edition. Helps cut my coffee well. Taste is really good too. I'd have this over milk anyway.

    Feedback

Sediment collects at the bottom of my glass. Not sure if that will ever go away though by nature of the product. Not a big deal overall.

  • Delicious, but I wish they didn't use all of the oils! I still drink it a lot, but I'm jealous that the European version only has oats, water, and salt...

    Feedback

I wish the simpler formulation was available in the US!

  • Product has terrible ingredients like canola oil. The way they process their oats causes them to have massive amounts of sugars, which spike your blood sugar levels as much as drinking coca cola

    don't use terrible ingredients.

  • who doesn't love this crack.

I'm not sure anything? Maybe more recyclability?

  • Delicious plant mylk. Not as sweet as some in the supermarket but still works well with tea & coffee. Great texture, love the packaging.

  • Was first introduced to it at La Colombe in NYC as an alternative to almond milk. Since then, I stand strongly behind the belief that coffee and oat milk is one of the greatest collabs of all time. Specifically, coffee +oatly. I've tested a lot of other oatmilks, as oatly is often sold out, and they don't have the same level of creaminess, flavor and slight sweetness. I always notice the difference when I'm making my morning coffee. An added surprise and delight is their copy on the cartons, funny and a little irreverent.

Availability. A lot of stores don't carry it or when they do, it's sold out. I've seen certain stores carry smaller sizes which is much appreciated but I wish those were more readily available seeing as the large container sometimes is too much milk for me to finish in time before it starts to spoil.

  • Taste and mouthfeel are 10/10. Would love if the ingredients were as simple as some other oat milks out there.. don't love the gums and fillers in Oatly. Love that it's widely available and can get it at most coffee shops these days.

    Ingredients could be simplified!

  • Having been a fan of their advertising and packaging design from afar I was super excited to try it and have it live up to the hype. I started to prefer oat milk over almond, and Oatly has been the best I have tried to date.

    Feedback

Availability, it seemed like for awhile it was sold out at a lot of places as they caught up to demand after their big push in the States.

  • Love all of their products. I have stopped using regular milk with coffee after I found Oatly. Also using many of their products for cooking.

  • Everything about it! As someone who's been allergic to dairy my whole like it's so awesome to have a variety of non-dairy milk options. I love it in coffee and smoothies.

Not much!! I think it's great.

  • I love the US products. I particularly like the variety of "types." There is a classic iteration which is great for drinking, cooking/baking, and adding to things like cereal. I also like the barista-style Oatly for "fancy" at home coffees and teas because it's so good at frothing.

Found out the hard way that their UK product is not gluten-free! Never make assumptions.

  • As someone who's gluten and dairy free, it's great to see more alternative products in market for coffee shops. I can enjoy more cappuccinos again! While this isn't my favorite alternative product, due to the aftertaste, I like their branding and specific barista blend for good foam quality.

The slightly odd aftertaste of the product

  • I love this brand so much! I am an avid coffee drinker, and oat milk always makes my lattes simply delectable! I also add it to my smoothies for that perfect creamy texture! The taste, consistency, and packaging beat everything on the market for me.

  • Love it! I use it for smoothies, my coffee, to make oat ice cream, literally everything! It's so versatile and creamy and a good plain base for anything. And I think oat is the least controversial of the plant milks so I feel almost no guilt drinking it LOL

  • I love this oat milk! It's absolutely amazing in my morning coffee! Its also obviously delicious by itself but is just perfect and over the top with it mixed with my coffee. The packaging is very nice

  • Lattes are definitely not the same with or without Oatly. Since I discovered the product, I think I prefer homemade specialty coffees. I discovered it because the coffee shop near my house uses that milk, and everyone loves it!

  • I need coffee that hits and a milk alternative that doesn’t fight me—and Oatly is it. It’s creamy, blends like a dream, and makes my daily chai or latte feel like a tiny moment of peace in the middle of toddler mayhem.
