Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel
  • Reliable, barista-grade frothing
  • Smooth, neutral oat flavor
  • Versatile, beverage performance
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Seed oil, rapeseed inclusion
  • Occasional digestive discomfort
  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • I switched to oat milk around four years ago and have not found a better brand of oatmilk! Their milk is creamy and tastes good without being watery or basically liquid oatmeal as I have run into with other brands. I have also used their barista blend with a professional milk steamer and it foams nicely (not as well as cow milk but much better than some other oat milks or almond milk).

Oatly is the milk that I use everyday so I definitely recommend it! The best oat milk I have found that is also not outrageously expensive.

  • The oat milk is okay, but the ice cream is INCREDIBLE! All flavors, so good. I especially recommend the coffee flavor. Better than dairy ice cream imo.

  • This review is of the partly crème fraiche. This product has been a game changer for me. Super for cooking with and perfect as a direct replacement for cows milk creme fraiche in every recipe I have tried. I am not aware of any other product that is as good as this.

A shame not all supermarkets stock this product

  • I love the idea of an oat milk but this one just wasn't my favorite. The flavor wasn't quite what I was expecting.

    Feedback

I find this brand to be a little grainy compared to some other options.

  • My favorite and go-to oatmilk brand! Their barista blend is the only oat milk I use for my lattes and I cannot say enough about how creamy and great quality their products are.

  • It's my go-to oat drink, BUT I don't trust all the ingredients it has...

Why can it be just oats and water?

  • Oat milk is good, but not the best. Investment money recieved by Blackstone turns me off of the brand for ethical reasons. Planet Oat is superior!

    Feedback

    Stop working with Blackstone.

  • im lactose intolerant- this milk is amazing - tastes so good !!

    Feedback

    better pricing

  • I personally hate milk for the after-taste and texture, and lean towards almond and oat milk in my coffee/smoothies/cereal. Oatley is delicious, it has a very fresh and creamy flavor.

It is honestly just far too expensive for me to buy everyday. There are cheaper options out there with similar nutrient profiles.

  • Oatly is my favorite oat milk it’s the creamiest and best tasting.

    Feedback

    No improvement needed

  • I am a bit of an Oat Milk Junkie and after testing all of them.. this is by far the best brand of oat milk. I can never do almond milk in my coffee again!

    Feedback

Stock... it's hard to find the one I want, they are always sold out.

  • Oatly is super creamy and a great addition to coffee. The ingredients are okay - definitely some additives. But great to have from time to time as a treat to have in lattes and other fancy drinks

  • Of all the milk alternatives, oat milk is my favorite. Oatly is fresh, tasty, and reasonably available.

I think it’d be helpful for the brand to market the ecological benefits of oat milk more.

  • It was good->not my favorite but I would definitely drink it if a cafe uses it. Creamy and mellow enough in flavor.

  • I was never a fan of plant-based milk, but this stuff is absolutely delicious—so much better than almond milk and for a decent price. It’s our go-to milk in our house these days.

Oat milk is pretty sweet, which makes it hard to use in things like Mac and Cheese. Maybe they can develop a less sweet version?

  • This is my go-to milk alternative and it tastes great with my daily morning lattes. I've tried so many other oak milks and they don't come close.

  • I am not particularly a big fan of oat milk (controversial opinion I understand) so I do know that my opinion may be biased here. I do think the taste is incredible and I enjoy how creamy it is. I got to test it out both at work in Starbucks and at home with my own frothier. Tastes great, goes well hot and cold. I just have a hard time getting behind the nutritional factors as I just prefer to get more protein wherever I can (including my drinks which is why I prefer soy) Regardless the drink is delicious and I appreciate that its not sweet and goes well wit every flavor combination I tried. My personal favorite was matcha rose oat latte with a shot of espresso iced,

If there was a way they could incorporate plant based protein powder it could really be the all in one near ideal alternative milk.

  • Definitely the best oat milk out there. It foams and steams the most similar to dairy milk, and has a smooth finish without any weird aftertaste. The barista edition is my favorite; and that's what Starbucks uses as well.

  • Although I think the taste of Oatly is great, I cannot recommend this product to anyone because first off they use “rapseed oil” aka canola oil in most of all their milks as an emulsifier to make it creamy which is absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately they only have one milk, the low fat option which comes in a white container, that does not contain any rapseed oil but it’s not available widely and is not the kind used in cafes. And two, they do not use organic oats and oats are one of the most heavily sprayed crops with glyphosate. Overall, Oatly is not a better option than regular milk if we’re talking about health and I would not even recommend it as a top non dairy option as most non diary milks do not use canola oil as their emulsifying agent, STOP SUPPORTING THIS COMPANY! There are much better oat milk options on the market such as Elmhurst, Malk, and Willa’s!
