  • I actually bought the Prenatal Collagen for my postpartum period (I am 8 months pregnant), but have started using it in my smoothies as well. I saw this collagen powder recommended by a postpartum doula, for baking into goods (like energy balls, cookies, etc). Obviously, a collagen boost is a good thing in the postpartum period, and I love prepping snacks for while I'm nursing in those early days. My thoughts? It's an okay price point compared to other protein/collagen related powders, especially when you can trust it's a safe product for pregnancy and breastfeeding. It's a pretty big container, so it will last me for some time. It doesn't taste disgustingly artificial or overally sweet like some other powders. The only drawback for me is that it does have a particular taste/flavor that I don't love (but isn't horrible). I'm sensitive to flavors, and have yet to find a protein protein that doesn't taste icky to me. If I was still feeling the pregnancy nausea, I don't think that I could have used this. But at this stage in the pregnancy, it has been alright.

  • I recently switched to Needed Prenatal Multi Essentials + Needed Omega-3 after struggling with breakouts on other prenatal brands. One of the main reasons I chose Needed is because the B-vitamin doses are slightly lower and more thoughtfully formulated than many prenatals on the market, which felt important for my skin. That said, I deducted one star because the biggest downside is definitely the pill count. Between the prenatal and the omega-3, it’s 7 pills a day, and they’re not small. Not ideal if you’re sensitive to taking a lot of supplements. I’ve only just started this combo, so it’s too early to say how it affects my skin or overall how I feel, but I appreciate the ingredient quality, transparency, and the rationale behind the dosing. I’m hopeful this will be a better fit long-term!

  • I took Needed prenatals & Omega-3 Supplements for about a year and a half through when I was trying to get pregnant, became pregnant for the first time, had a miscarriage, tried to get pregnant again, and then got pregnant a second time. I'm now almost 6 months into this pregnancy, and I switched to a different prenatal at about month 3. I really liked Needed and their focus on product quality, and on higher doses of some of the most important nutrients for baby and for me (e.g., Choline, Magnesium) and also on the most absorbable forms of different nutrients (i.e., methlylated folate). I just found a cheaper option (FullWell) with similar standards so I switched. Needed is great because of the range of options, but the amount of marketing emails I got made me feel a little icky about how much money was probably going to making the brand go viral. No issues with the product, just found something with the same quality and ingredient quantities at a cheaper price point.

  • My nutritionist recommended that I take needed when I told him that I would start trying in about a year. I like the ingredients and the container is pretty. However, it's a little difficult to take 3 large pills at once.
