Reviews mention

  • Chic minimalist packaging aesthetics
  • Spa-like eucalyptus body wash
  • Quick-absorbing hydrating serum
  • Gentle, sensitive-skin-friendly formulas
  • Inconsistent deodorant odor control
  • Lightweight lotion hydration level
  • Occasional faulty pump packaging
  • Divisive, inconsistent scent profiles

Necessaire earns mixed-to-positive reviews: the brand delivers sensorial, spa-like body care—especially Eucalyptus and Sandalwood Body Washes, the Body Exfoliator, Body Serum, select deodorants, and a well-loved mineral Sunscreen—yet several reviewers find formulas average for the hype and small sizes. Strengths include chic, functional packaging, gentle options for sensitive skin, and standout scents; weaknesses surface around inconsistent deodorant efficacy/irritation, lotion and serum being light for very dry skin, occasional faulty pumps or hard-to-empty tubes, and scents (celery/oregano notes, weak longevity) not pleasing everyone.

  • Just so good. The body wash, lotion, and exfoliator are my go-to's, I can't live without them. I am really picky about formulas and these all work so great. I get so many compliments on how soft my skin is, and Necessaire is the resaon!

Product gets stuck in the tubes, which is a waste. Price could be a bit more reasonable. Don't love the scents so I opt for unscented.

  • Love the Body Exfoliator in the Eucalyptus scent. It foams nicely and very gentle on the skin.

Would love if it was available in larger size container.

  • This brand was so hyped on IG / via influencers that I wasn't sure how it would live up to it. I've only tried the eucalyptus body scrub but OMG, this stuff is amazing

Price point is pretty steep for how much product you get - this is my "special occasion" scrub. You obviously get what you pay for but wish there was a way to bring cost down!

  • Necessaie products are amazing. I bought the unscented kit and love every item.

A little expensive but worth it!

  • I was #influenced to buy this brand and I don't know that its worth the hype! I LOVED the deodorant in Eucalyptus scent but I found the Body and Face products to be a bit over priced for the quality.

  • Serum deodorant gel was okay. I tried the eucalyptus scent. It worked fairly well for the first week or so, then it seemed to stop working as well. It would keep me fresh for a few hours only. The eucalyptus scent was fresh when applied but smelled a bit strange later in the day. It likely didn't work with my body chemistry.

  • I've been actively looking for one and this is what I wanted! This deo works better than my previous brand. I highly recommend!

  • This is the best body wash, lotion and deodorant I have ever used and will now be my ride or die company. The smells are unbelievable, the deodorant ACTUALLY WORKS, and my skin feels softer and better every day from using these products.

  • I really enjoyed the scent profile of this body wash. I also enjoyed the unique bottle, specifically, the lid that was flush until you opened it. It looks so good on my shower shelf, and smells so fresh but complex.

  • I like how this serum makes my dry scalp feeling hydrated and more breathable. One of the best part is that is not greasy and has no scent. I haven’t seen a major improvement in the growth, as I have used it less than a month, but it looks very promising. The Hyaluronic Acid is a great addition to its formula. Would absolutely get few more bottles to see improvement in a hair growth.

  • I absolutely love Necessaire! I’ve used a variety of products (selected within this review), and have loved all of them. The favorite being the deodorants! I’ve tried so many non aluminum based deodorants and they did not work, or would work as long as I reapplied a million times. Necessaire’s?! They work! I’ve used both scents and the unscented and as long as you allow them to fully dry before getting dressed will last all day! I put it on after the shower at night and one more layer in the morning. only thing, I wouldn’t recommend the deo to those who have sensitive underarms, but the other products are great for sensitive skin and scalp.

  • I’ve tested the body retinol and sadly, I dislike the “neutral” scent. I’m not usually picky but it definitely a turn off for me. I haven’t noticed any positive or negative skin benefits but I’ve only used it a few times a week for three months. The bottle seems to last. I also don’t like how the first 1/4” of the lotion pump is crusty lotion. It does absorb well into the skin and it kind of seems like a waste of expensive product, even if it’s just a tiny bit a day. I love the idea of body retinol and am hoping a better smelling one (vanilla coconut, but subtle!) comes out!

  • I have eczema and i really like the non scented body care for treating it in the winter. Also looove the scent of the eucalyptus body wash it's giving spa vibes. Have just tried the shampoo and so far i'm liking it, not noticing a huge difference with my hair but my scalp is feeling less dry/itchy after a couple weeks of use.

  • I have the Eucalyptus Deodorant and Body Wash from Necessaire and I love them! Not only are the products aesthetically pleasing (which is very important for me as a lifestyle blogger), but the smell is intoxicating. The eucalyptus body wash drowns you in a luxurious smell that leaves you relaxed and your skin feeling silky smooth after your shower. With all the benefits of eucalyptus (such as stress removal, decreased pain and sinus clearing) I can clearly see why Necessaire released a body wash with this scent - since your bathroom will smell like eucalyptus for a while after you use it. Overall, I would highly recommend this product to everyone, despite the potentially high costs.

  • I have repurchased this several times. Having smelled many sandalwood products I was intrigued when I first caught a whiff. It wasn't unpleasant, just maybe a slight bit artificial, and can probably be attributed to the other ingredients. The scrubby bits are the perfect size, and there are enough of them to cover the whole body. It has a good gel like viscosity and hugs the skin well, so leave it on for a couple minutes to allow the rest of the actives to do their thing. It lathers ever so slightly upon rinsing, transforming into a milky froth that feels very satisfying and leaving an air of woodsy calm. Those without sensitive skin can use this as a daily face/body wash! I certainly have. Smooth skin for days!

  • In a marketplace as vast and diverse as ours, it is crucial that we, the consumers, make mindful decisions about where we channel our resources. It's incumbent upon us to look past the captivating exterior of a product or company, to scrutinize the integrity of the corporations that manufacture these products. Today, I wish to shed light on one such entity that requires our collective attention: Necessaire. Necessaire, at a cursory glance, offers appealing products that promise to be clean. However, the alluring promise of 'ethical products' stands in stark contrast to their ethical stance towards their own employees. Upon delving deeper, one encounters a disconcerting corporate culture fraught with abrupt dismissals, scant regard for employee training, and an overall environment of toxicity. From my experiences and observations, Necessaire appears to be driven primarily by an unyielding pursuit of profits, casting aside basic tenets of decency, respect, and compassion in their wake. It's important to bear in mind that even as a startup, which invariably faces a unique set of challenges, this does not excuse or justify such uncharitable behavior. Business challenges should never pave the way for unjust treatment of those who help build the company. Moreover, the company's approach towards employee development and retention leaves much to be desired. A notable example being the Logistics Director, whose lack of appreciation for the pivotal role of training is disappointing, to say the least. This lack of foresight and understanding not only stifles the growth and development of the team but also potentially hinders the quality and consistency of the products they produce. Therefore, I implore my fellow consumers, we must reassess our patronage of Necessaire. By continuing to purchase their products, we indirectly condone their unjust practices. Our buying power is an instrument of change. We have the means to advocate for better corporate practices, and it is our duty to do so. Our decisions need to go beyond the allure of a vegan, clean product; they need to consider the entire ethical landscape of a company. And unfortunately, when assessed on these parameters, Necessaire falls woefully short. It's time to demand better. Let's channel our consumer power towards businesses that respect their employees as much as their customers and demonstrate a balance between profits and principles. Let's boycott companies that fail to reflect our shared values of fairness and compassion. Our collective decisions can, and should, propel a shift towards a marketplace that is not only ethical in the products it offers but also in the way it treats its workforce.

  • I've only tried the Body lotion so far, and I love love love it! It leaves your skin so smooth and soft, and absorbs easily into the skin without leaving residue. My 5 year old has eczema and her skin has been rough like sandpaper in summer months with the combination of heat and air conditioning, and this has improved the texture on her legs. I would definitely get more once I run out, but I'd love to see how the other products compare with the body lotion!

  • Necessaire is my go-to small daily luxury (specifically, The Body Wash and The Body Lotion). Both products are a delight to use. Smell fantastic (without being too strong, I can still wear perfume), the packaging applies the product well, and are neither are too thick or greasy. Especially the lotion, has a really excellent formulation, that leaves me feeling hydrated but not weighed down. While they are more expensive than other (still effective) drugstore options, they last me around 4 months (and I am tall and generous with my usage!). My only note would be that I use both of these products along with more basic (and cheaper) soaps and body lotions. I utilize a bar of antibacterial soap in the shower first, and I trade off every-other-day using a La Roche Posay body lotion which is much thicker (especially for the winter).

  • Obsessed with all their products but especially devoted to the Bergamot body wash and the body serum which I didn't know I needed until I got it as a free gift on one purchase.

  • This brand is so good. Everything has no pore clogging ingredients. I did an extensive search on body washes because I have quite a lot of back and chest acne. I have purchased the exfoliator and the body lotion. Lotions always make me break out and this is the only brand that does not break me out. I also use this for my face and it has been agreeing with it. I like how they tell you the pH of every product. Also, a little goes a long way. Leaves your skin soft and normal. The lotion is very light, but keeps you moisturized all day. I love this brand so much. I will definitely order from them in the future.
