Not a great first experience with this brand before even receiving the product. I purchased the hair block during a Thingdrop and it took almost a month for them to ship it. I had to follow up multiple times before finally receiving the item. The packaging itself is very cool - it’s got a very aesthetically pleasing frosted bottle and cute rounded overcap. The outer box is a fun lime green with embossed logo that was pretty but the color of the text made it a little hard to read. I purchased because I spend most of my summer days at the beach or pool, in and out of salt water and chlorine and it really does a number on my hair. Their claims about helping the hair barrier were intriguing. Admittedly, I was skeptical going in because I have very fine, thin hair and although the website says all hair types, they state it was initially created with textured hair in mind. After a few uses of hair block I likely won’t be a repeat customer because I just don’t think I have the hair type that works best with this. Their site says the formula is lightweight and non greasy but I found that even a small amount did make my hair greasy. I’ll continue to use it on days where my hairstyle is less important (I.e. beach and swimming) but personally found it made my hair too greasy looking and feeling for anything styled. Unfortunate because it does smell nice and summery and I do think it hydrated my hair well!
