Magic Spoon largely satisfies those seeking a healthier, high‑protein, low‑sugar riff on nostalgic cereals, according to reviews, but it is not universally loved. Reviewers praise its 13g protein per serving, gluten‑free/grain‑free formulas, fun flavors like Fruity, Cocoa, Cinnamon Roll, and Maple Waffle, and cheerful packaging; common complaints cite an artificial or stevia/monk‑fruit aftertaste, gummy texture that sticks to teeth, flavor inconsistency (especially some chocolate/peanut butter variants), limited satiety for some, and very small, pricey boxes.

Amazing concept and awesome branding. But it's just one of those try-once experiences. Too expensive to be a regular fixture. Perhaps if they can pick up scale and this appear in the supermarket, then prices can fall. It'd be better for the health of millions of kids!

good experience, except I would mention that when I first brought this out to show off how cool and trendy I was, it totally backfired because everyone thought I was eating thc-enhanced cereal or something, took weeks of me flailing my arms to explain that it was just healthy cereal, but I guess that was harder to believe. dont think the box design helped my cause.

If your friends and co-workers are lame, reputation management required... looks too cool for my breakfast, now I hide the box and have the cereal like a mature adult.
My husband saw these and thought it would be a great healthy alternative for our cereal-loving household. They are supposed to mimic some of the well-known cereals out there that we all know and love. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if my expectations were high because it was obvious what cereal they were aiming to taste like, but I was not a fan of the taste. Some were just bland and others tasted like a strange combo of flavours. We made marshmallow squares out of two boxes, but ended up throwing one out unfortunately.

I really really really wanted to love this healthy alternative. Maybe for someone that doesn't already eat a lot of yummy cereals and knows the good tastes of sugar in them would be fine, but it didn't hit home with my kids nor myself unfortunately. It did only recently come out, so I would definitely give it a try again after they tweak it more.
Very expensive and don’t taste like much :(
I love Magic Spoon. Delicious, healthy, gluten-free.

I wish it was more easily available in Canada. Unfortunately right now it's too expensive and only located at a few niche food stores.
Tasty flavors overall

Great Keto friendly cereal ! Tastes amazing and is keeps me In Keto . I highly recommended this to any one who is looking to loose weight but still enjoys cereal once in a while .
It's yummy and well made. Love the design work on their packaging. But it's just too much money to justify for cereal.
considering it’s a low carb/low sugar cereal, it’s pretty good. but overall, it’s just meh. their chocolate flavor is their best one in my opinion, and the cookies and cream one was just awful. don’t know if i’d buy again

i’m the type of person who actually doesn’t mind soggy cereal, but magic spoon cereal doesn’t just get soggy—it gets sticky. the cereal gets stuck all over my teeth and it’s just not a fun experience lol
I didn’t expect to love a high protein cereal as much as I do, but magic spoon is so so good. The chocolate and peanut butter flavors are my favorite and I use them to make healthy snack mixes! I’ve even got my family hooked on these cereals
I like it. The taste is a bit different when you first try it, but if you like it it's pretty tasty. I've eaten half a box before without realizing it. There aren't too many options thaty are this keto-friendly without being a pale imitation of the "regular" version of the product
I do not like the sweetener. They use monk fruit and I almost wish they just used regular sugar.
Magic Spoon cereal had a divided opinion in our home. While I was not a fan of the taste and did not enjoy that it was sweetened with stevia, my son thoroughly enjoyed it and ate all that we purchased. I have never been a fan of products with stevia so if you are not a fan of that, you may not enjoy this cereal. We purchased the set of cereals that came with bowls and spoons, which have been useful and we still use almost daily. We tried the cocoa, fruity, peanut butter, and seasonal gingerbread flavors, with the fruity and peanut butter being our favorites. If my son asks for it again, I'd likely repurchase it for him but I wouldn't be eating it myself. I love that is low-carb and high-protein, which is much better than other cereal options available.

The aftertaste is what left me on the fence with this cereal. If there is a reformulation or options with different sweeteners (monkfruit or honey), I would be open to trying the brand again.
These are cool. Also yummy. I dig the nutritional benefits, branding, and flavor options. Only two downsides: (1) Price. I even had a subscription, and had to cancel. Too expensive to make my solid go-to. (2) Something I'll call "persistent under-taste." All their flavors have the same protein powder texture and a subtle taste that makes it clear this is not like traditional cereal. It's not a bad flavor. It's just that you might get a little tired of it. I did, and needed some bran flakes or cheerios to provide variety, even though Magic Spoon has a lot of different flavor options. There's just a certain SAMEness.

I know you're focused on what you do - there's value in specialization. But if you had more form factors or varied textures, I could have made Magic Spoon a go to for longer without getting tired of it. Also, I know you're selling protein powder, not cereal, but it's still cereal and consumers are going to compare the price. I wanted more protein in the morning, but after a while it was worth eating some eggs or cottage cheese along with my bran flakes to get that. I'll probably come back to the brand in a while, but the price did speed my decision to take a break. Lastly, "grain free" doesn't seem like a virtue to me. Maybe there's a consumer segment out there who thinks it is? Maybe for allergies? To me it makes it feel more processed or like astronaut food, especially when compared to cereals claiming "whole grain" as a virtue.
Tried this cereal when I was doing keto and it was nice to have that familiar cereal eating feeling. Wish there were more products like this
chocolate and PB flavors are the best. The frosted one is pretty good too (frosted flakes taste) and the fruit one is really similar to froot loops. However, this stuff is soo expensive it is like $2 a bowl

Wish it was cheaper and easier to buy online

gross, foul. I couldn’t even get through a single bowl, which just makes me wish that this product was as good as I had been told. I would rather just have a healthy breakfast than be reminded of how health fads consume even staples such as sugary breakfast cereals

Please make the product taste good, that’s all I am asking
i was swindled by the packaging and clever advertising. i really really wanted to like this brand but the cereal itself felt SO fake and chemically that it felt more detrimental to my health to eat this vs. an actual sugar-forward general mills and/or post product.

good packaging, scary innards
It was actually pretty good, I kept seeing it on tictok and saw it in target. A little skeptical but once I tried it it was good ! Usually with products that are ‘healthy’ have a bland taste but I loved how you can actually taste the peanut butter and chocolate ! I like mixing both together!
This is the it girl of cereal in 2023! Delicious and doesn’t make you feel sluggish!
