Madhappy reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • Plush heavyweight fleece materials
  • Creative high-profile brand collaborations
  • Distinctive, stylish design language
  • Mission-driven mental health ethos
  • Inconsistent garment durability issues
  • Occasionally awkward cinched-waist fit
  • Unpredictable unisex sizing proportions
  • Non-technical outerwear performance limitations

Madhappy earns polarized reviews: many praise the hoodies’ thick, cozy materials, unique collaborations (Space Jam, Mr. Chow, Columbia, GAP), flattering fits like the New York Optimism and Buddy blue hoodies, and a mission rooted in mental health, while others report garments unraveling at seams, color fading, awkward cinched waists, inconsistent sizing, and disappointing outerwear durability. The brand is admired for design and comfort but criticized for quality control and rigid, slow support policies, making it compelling for collab-driven, soft heavyweight sweats yet risky for buyers sensitive to durability and aftercare issues.

  • Well worth the price- the quality is amazing! I purchased a crewneck and matching sweat shorts and was pleasantly surprised by how thick and luxurious the fabric felt. After about a year of washing and wearing at least a few times a month, they still look fresh and new.

  • Expensive but worth it- thick fabric and washes well.

Some of the sweatpants are cropped slightly shorter.

  • I absolutely love Madhappy and their mission! I can't get enough of their hoodies. Super comfortable and soft!

  • I am a huge mental health advocate and mad happy speaks directly to that. I have always been a fan of what they created and was waiting for the perfect moment and time to pull the trigger and drop 150+ on a simple, yet clean sweatshirt. It happened in 2019 and it's still a staple in my closet. It's cozy, it goes with everything, and it's flattering. I believe in paying for quality, not quantity, but it's definitely hard trying to not splurge on everything. These are great for gifts and their drops definitely have some gems.

I totally understand their cost, but I think having some sweatshirt options that are a bit more affordable would be awesome. However, I do love that they are exploring other valuable options outside of clothing like the journal.

  • A year ago, this review would have been higher — unfortunately, my sweat sets did not stand the test of time. They are literally falling apart at the seams, and I am always very careful with how I wash them. Their products are always unique and on-trend, so I really wish the quality matched the price.

  • I buy it for gift and I really like it and buy to myself. Really good quality material. Is cute and comfortable too.

  • Really good quality material!! I've been searching for a sweat suit and this is just the best one I've found.

  • Have loved buying madhappy apparel for the last few years now! Great designs and collaborations. The quality of the material is top notch too!

I would love to see them go back to their mental health roots. That was a great market segment that they tapped into at the beginning and it would be nice if they emphasised it more than just their podcast.

  • This is by far my favorite sweatshirt. The fabric is heavy and cozy and it fits perfectly. I wear it religiously and it hasn't shown any wear/tear yet.

Prices are high, but the quality makes them well-worth the investment. I would much rather have 1 Madhappy hoodie than 4 Gildan hoodies.

  • Madhappy is so cool! I love the sweat sets and sweatshirts! I also love that Madhappy walks the walk. They stand for mental health awareness and recently funded a program at Penn!

  • i own two madhappy pieces, and they're both definitely high quality~ we also love a mission-driven company :)

  • Super soft and super comfy sweatshirts. I just bought a crew neck from the Mad Happy x Mr. Chow collection. I love how they collaborate with a wide variety of companies.

  • Thi is the worst company I have ordered from. They are dishonest and ship wrong items that are final sale. I have been so patient and trying to communicate with them that the items shipped were not what I ordered but I just keep getting emails telling me the same thing over and over again. there is no number to call. And these are not cheap that you can ignore the purchase. I would not recommend ordering frm them.

  • Be aware of what you are getting - the quality of this brand is good, the material is thick, and well made. It is a bit persnickety to wash since you cannot dry it, so be aware you are buying a high maintenance item. But overall the quality is good and the products are nice, BUT I can only give them a 2-star review for their ridiculous return/exchange policy and SLOW customer support. I bought three Christmas gifts when a special collaboration dropped on 10/27. After giving one of the items on Christmas (12/25) I need to make an even exchange - I reached out immediately, and after 3 full days of trying to get ahold of them on the "live chat bot" and emailing them I got an email back saying they would not make the exchange because it was more than 30 days since the purchase of the item. I am not sure if they expect people to be able to buy these things as gifts, but if you cannot make an exchange past 30 days it's going to be pretty impossible to actually give this to anyone. So much for not waiting until the last minute to get gifts - it's pretty much a hose job here. If I would have waited until 30 days before Christmas to be within their rules I most likely would have NEVER gotten my items (since there are also several complaints on various sites about their slow delivery), but since I was proactive it bit me anyway because now I cannot exchange one of them. I will not buy anything else from them, though the quality is good the high maintenance wash requirements coupled with the bad customer support does not inspire me to spend $170+ on a sweatshirt. Definitely not "Happy" about this.

  • I ordered 2 sweatshirts on 11/24 as part of a Black Friday deal. I did not hear from this company again until 12/23. They said the order shipped but provided no tracking number. I emailed to say that I wanted to cancel since the order would not be here in time for Christmas and I had already purchased other gifts. They told me they would cancel the order but it would be subject to a 6% fee and a service charge! This was there screw up. Do NOT buy from them. Their communication skills are subpar and the fact that they want to charge consumers for products they can clearly not deliver on time is highway robbery.

  • The writing on the sweatshirt came off right after washing it even though I followed all the directions and did not dry it. They have the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve emailed them several times and I keep getting what seem to be stock responses. They have no phone number so I can’t talk to a live person. SO not worth the money

  • Awful company Incredible overpriced Incredible cheap Incredible rude Incredible Awful
